NORMAS GENERALES DE SEGURIDAD
Para reducir el riesgo de lesión personal, todos
los operadores y personal de mantenimiento
debe leer y entender estas instrucciones an-
tes de operar, cambiar accesorios, o realizar el
mantenimiento sobre equipo de poder. Todas
las posibles situaciones no pueden ser cubier-
tas en estas instrucciones. Cuidado debe ser
ejercido por todos utilizando, manteniendo o
trabajando cerca de este equipo.
El dispositivo de seguridad más importante
para este o cualquier herramienta es el opera-
dor. Cuidado y buen juicio son la mejor pro-
tección contra las lesiones. Todos los posibles
riesgos que no pueden ser cubiertos aquí, pero
hemos tratado de poner de relieve algunos
de los elementos importantes, los individuos
deben buscar y obedecer a la precaución, ad-
vertencia y señales de peligro puestas en el
equipo, y las que se muestran en el lugar de
trabajo. Los operadores deben leer y seguir las
instrucciones de seguridad incluidas con cada
producto.
Aprenda como trabaja cada máquina. Incluso si
usted ha utilizado previamente máquinas simi-
lares, comprobar cuidadosamente cada máqui-
na antes de usarla Adquiera la "sensación" de
la misma y conozca sus capacidades, limitacio-
nes, riesgos potenciales, cómo funciona y cómo
se detiene. No tenemos ninguna obligación, si
la persona no opera la herramienta como dicen
las instrucciones.
Si no se siguen las instrucciones de este ma-
nual puede provocar lesiones graves o incluso
la muerte. Este equipo debe ser operado por
personal capacitado y calificado. Este equipo
es sólo para uso industrial.
ADVERTENCIA: RIESGO DE EXPLOSIÓN O
INCENDIO.
• El combustible y sus vapores son extrema-
damente inflamables y explosivos. El fuego o
una explosión pueden causar quemaduras se-
veras e inclusive la muerte.
· SIEMPRE apague el motor y deje que se enfríe
al menos 2 minutos antes de agregar combus-
tible al tanque.
· SIEMPRE tenga cuidado al llenar el tanque
para evitar el derrame de combustible. Mueva
la máquina fuera del área de llenado de com-
bustible antes de arrancar el motor.
· SIEMPRE mantenga el nivel máximo de com-
bustible por debajo de la parte superior del
tanque para permitir la expansión.
· SIEMPRE reabastezca de gasolina en áreas
bien ventiladas y libres de obstrucciones. Equi-
pe las zonas con extintores adecuados para in-
cendios de gasolina.
PELIGRO: RIESGO POR MONÓXIDO DE CAR-
BONO.
• El motor encendido de este producto pro-
duce monóxido de carbono, un gas incoloro,
inodoro y venenoso. Respirar monóxido de
carbono puede ocasionar náuseas, desmayos
o incluso la muerte. Algunas sustancias quími-
cas pueden ser perjudiciales si son inhalados o
ingeridos, causando náusea severa, desmayos
o envenenamiento.
· SIEMPRE deje que los gases del escape entren
en un espacio confinado a través de ventanas,
puertas, tomas de aire de ventilación u otras
aberturas.
· NUNCA opere la maquina en lugares ocupa-
dos por los personas o animales.
· SIEMPRE siga las recomendaciones del fabri-
cante, utilice un respirador o máscara siempre
que exista la posibilidad de que los vapores
puedan ser inhalados.
• Siempre que sea necesario, reemplace la pla-
ca de identificación, calcomanías de operación
y seguridad cuando no sean legibles.
• El fabricante no asume responsabilidad por
cualquier accidente debido a modificaciones
en el equipo.
• NUNCA utilice accesorios o complementos,
que no se recomiendan para este equipo. Po-
drían resultar en daños al equipo o lesiones al
usuario.
• NUNCA tocar el colector de escape caliente,
el silenciador o cilindro. Permita que estas par-
tes se enfríen antes de dar servicio al motor o
vibradora.
• SIEMPRE apague el motor antes de dar ser-
vicio, reabastecer combustible y cambiar el
aceite.
• NUNCA haga funcionar el motor sin el filtro
de aire. Puede producir graves daños al motor.
• SIEMPRE de servicio al filtro de aire con fre-
cuencia para evitar un mal funcionamiento del
carburador.

• SIEMPRE revise si la máquina tiene roscas o
tornillos sueltos antes de comenzar.
• SIEMPRE asegúrese de que el operador esté
familiarizado con las precauciones de seguri-
dad apropiadas y operaciones técnicas antes
de utilizar la compactadora.
• SIEMPRE almacene el equipo de manera ade-
cuada cuando no se está utilizando. El equipo
debe ser almacenado en un lugar limpio, seco
y fuera del alcance de los niños.
• NO haga funcionar este equipo a menos que
todos los protectores y dispositivos de seguri-
dad estén colocados en su lugar.
• Se debe tener precaución al dar servicio a
este equipo.
• Modificaciones no autorizadas del equipo
anulará todas las garantías.
• NUNCA vierta o rocié agua sobre el motor.
• Pruebe el interruptor de encendido / apaga-
do antes de operar. El propósito de este inte-
rruptor es para apagar el motor de la máquina.
• Consulte el Manual del usuario del motor so-
bre preguntas técnicas o información recomen-
dada para el equipo.
PELIGROS Y RIESGOS
· Nunca permita a cualquier persona operar la
maquina sin la adecuada instrucción.
· Asegúrese que todos los operadores lean, en-
tiendan y sigan las instrucciones de operación.
· Lesiones serias pueden resultar de un uso in-
debido o negligente de esta máquina.
PELIGROS MECÁNICOS
1. Antes de realizar los procedimientos de ser-
vicio, mantenimiento o limpieza, asegúrese
siempre de que el interruptor de alimentación
del motor de gasolina esté en su posición de
apagado. Deje que el motor se apague com-
pletamente. Luego, retire la bujía del motor.
2. No altere ni ajuste ninguna parte del Vibra-
dor de Concreto o del motor montado.
3. Siempre siga y lleve a cabo el plan de mante-
nimiento suministrado por el fabricante.
PRECAUCIONES QUÍMICAS
1. Evite el contacto con el combustible, el acei-
te caliente, los gases del escape y las superficies
calientes.
2. Evite el contacto corporal con los combus-
tibles, aceites y lubricantes utilizados en el
vibrador de concreto y el motor. En caso de
ingestión, busque tratamiento médico inme-
diatamente. No induzca el vómito si se ingiere.
Para el contacto con la piel, lávese inmediata-
mente con agua y jabón. Enjuague inmediata-
mente los ojos con agua limpia.
PRECAUCIONES DE RUIDO
La exposición prolongada a niveles de ruido
por encima de 85 decibeles es peligrosa para
la audición. Siempre use protección auditiva
cuando esté operando o trabajando alrededor
del Vibrador de Concreto.
REGLAS ESPECÍFICAS DE SEGURIDAD
CUIDADO: Su garantía se anula si:
A. No agrega aceite de motor en el cárter del
motor antes de su primer uso.
1. Antes de cada uso, compruebe el nivel de
aceite. Nunca haga funcionar el motor con
poco aceite de motor o sin aceite. El funciona-
miento del motor con poco aceite o nulo daña-
rá permanentemente la unidad. Lea el manual
del fabricante del motor (incluido) para Man-
tenimiento del motor.
2. Este vibrador de concreto está diseñado para
su uso sólo con el chicote vibrador SURTEK (no
incluido). No intente utilizar el vibrador con-
creto con cualquier otro tipo de chicote vibra-
dor.
3. Mantenga las etiquetas y placas de identifi-
cación en el Vibrador de Concreto.
4. Nunca dejar el vibrador de concreto desaten-
dido cuando su motor está funcionando. Apa-
gue el motor y espere hasta que deje de girar
completamente antes de dejarlo.
5. No permita que niños y otras personas no au-
torizadas manejen o jueguen con el vibrador.
CUIDADO: Este vibrador de concreto está
diseñado para uso en exteriores.
6. Nunca opere el Vibrador en un área cerrada
o en un área mal ventilada. El motor de este
vibrador produce monóxido de carbono, un
humo incoloro, inodoro, tóxico que cuando se
inhala, puede causar lesiones personales gra-
ves o la muerte. Siempre que sea posible, uti-
lice un detector de monóxido de carbono (no
incluido) para detectar humos excesivos en el
área de trabajo y en el área circundante.

7. No fuerce a la máquina. Esta máquina hará
el trabajo mejor y más seguro a la velocidad y
la capacidad para la cual fue diseñada.
8. Siempre coloque el vibrador correctamente,
el no colocarlo adecuadamente puede causar
posibles lesiones personales o daños a la pro-
piedad.
9. Utilice la herramienta adecuada para el tra-
bajo. No trate de forzar la herramienta para
hacer el trabajo de herramientas y equipo in-
dustrial más grande. Hay ciertas aplicaciones
para las que esta herramienta fue diseñada.
Hará el trabajo mejor y más seguro al ritmo
de trabajo para el cual fue diseñado. No mo-
difique esta herramienta y no utilice esta he-
rramienta con un fin para el que no se haya
diseñado.
10. Guarde las herramientas y el equipo vacíos.
Cuando no esté en uso, el Vibrador de concreto
debe ser almacenado en un lugar seco para evi-
tar la corrosión. Siempre bloquee la herramien-
ta y manténgala fuera del alcance de los niños
y otras personas no autorizadas.
11. No utilice esta herramienta si está bajo la
influencia de alcohol o drogas.
ADVERTENCIA: Las personas con marcapa-
sos deben consultar a su médico antes de usar
este producto. Funcionamiento del equipo en
las inmediaciones del marcapasos puede causar
interferencia o fallos.
ADVERTENCIA: Las advertencias y precau-
ciones descritas en este manual no pueden cu-
brir todas las posibles condiciones y situaciones
de trabajo. El sentido común y la precaución
son factores que deben ser integrados al utili-
zar este producto.

PALANCA DE VÁLVULA DE COMBUSTIBLE
La válvula de combustible abre y cierra el paso
entre el tanque de combustible y el carbura-
dor. La palanca de válvula de combustible debe
estar en la posición de encendido para que el
motor funcione.

Cuando el motor no esté en uso, mantenga la
palanca en la posición de apagado para preve-
nir el ahogamiento del carburador y para redu-
cir la posibilidad de derrame de combustible.
PALANCA REGULADORA
La palanca reguladora controla la velocidad
del motor.
Mover la palanca en

PALANCA DEL AHOGADOR
La palanca del ahogador abre y cierra la válvu-
la de ahogamiento en el carburador.
La posición de ABIERTO alimenta la mezcla de
combustible para el enfriamiento del motor. La
posición de CERRADO brinda la mezcla correc-
ta de combustible una vez que la operación ha
empezado, y para el calentamiento del motor.
Algunas aplicaciones del motor utilizan un
control de ahogamiento más estrecho que el
mostrado aquí.
ARRANCADOR DE RETROCESO

INSTRUCCIONES DE OPERACIÓN
PRUEBA ANTES DE LA OPERACIÓN
¿ESTÁ SU MOTOR LISTO PARA SU USO?
Por su seguridad, y para maximizar la vida útil
de su equipo, es muy importante tomar un mo-
mento antes de accionar el motor para checar
si ya está en condiciones de uso. Asegúrese de
tomar acciones de cualquier problema que se
llegue a presentar, o solicitar al vendedor de
corregirlo antes de accionar el motor.
ADVERTENCIA: Un mantenimiento inade-
cuado de este motor, o fallar para corregir un
problema antes de la operación, puede causar
un mal funcionamiento en el cual puede oca-
sionar heridas severas. Siempre realice una
inspección antes de la operación y corrija cual-
quier problema.
Antes de comenzar las pruebas preoperación,
asegure que el motor esté nivelado y que el
interruptor esté en la posición de APAGADO.
COMPRUEBE EL MOTOR
Compruebe el nivel de aceite del motor. Correr
el motor con un nivel bajo de aceite puede cau-
sar daños al motor.
El sistema de alerta del aceite (aplicable a ti-
pos de motor) detendrá automáticamente el
motor antes de que el nivel de aceite caiga a
niveles inseguros. Sin embargo, para evitar el
inconveniente de un paro inesperado, siem-
pre inspeccione los niveles de aceite antes del
arranque.
Compruebe el filtro de aire. Un filtro de aire
sucio restringirá el flujo de aire al carburador,
reduciendo el desempeño del motor.
Compruebe el nivel de combustible. Comenzar
con un tanque lleno ayuda a eliminar o redu-
cir interrupciones en la operación para rellenar
combustible.
COMPRUEBE EL EQUIPO ENERGIZADO POR
ESTE MOTOR
Revise las instrucciones provistas con el equipo
para advertencias y procedimientos que deben
seguirse antes del arranque del motor.

mera vez, revise la sección de INFORMACIÓN
IMPORTANTE DE SEGURIDAD y el apartado
ANTES DE LA OPERACIÓN.
ADVERTENCIA: El gas de monóxido de
carbono es tóxico. Inhalarlo puede dejar in-
consciente al usuario o hasta matarlo. Evite
cualquier área o acciones que lo expongan al
monóxido de carbono.
Revise las instrucciones provistas con el equipo
para advertencias que pudieran ser observadas
respecto al arranque, paro u operación del mo-
tor.
ARRANQUE DEL MOTOR
1. Mueva la palanca
de válvula del com-
bustible a la posición
de ENCENDIDO.
2. Para arrancar el motor con enfriamiento,
mueva la palanca del ahogador a la posición
de CERRADO. Para iniciar el motor con calor,
deje la palanca de ahogamiento en la posición
de ABIERTO.

un control de ahoga-
miento más estrecho
que el mostrado aquí.
3. Mueva la palanca reguladora de la posición
de LENTO, hacia aproximadamente 1/3 hacia la
posición de RÁPIDO.
4. Mueva el interrup-
tor del motor a la po-
sición de ENCENDIDO.
5. Accione el arranca-
dor. ARRANCADOR DE
RETROCESO (todos los tipos de motor): Jale
ligeramente la manija de arranque hasta que
sienta resistencia, después jale rápidamente.
Regrese la manija de arranque suavemente.
6. Si la palanca del
ahogador ha sido mo-
vida a la posición de
CERRADO al accionar
el motor, gradualmen-
te mueva la palanca
hacia la posición de ABIERTO mientras el motor
se calienta.
DETENIENDO EL MOTOR
Para detener el motor en una emergencia, sim-
plemente mueva el interruptor del motor a la
posición de APAGADO. Bajo condiciones nor-
males, siga el procedimiento siguiente:

AJUSTANDO LA VELOCIDAD DEL MOTOR
Posicione la palanca reguladora a la velocidad
deseada. Algunas aplicaciones del motor utili-
zan un control regulador más estrecho que el
mostrado aquí.

ABASTECIENDO DE GASOLINA
Con el motor detenido, remueva el tapón del
tanque de combustible y revise su nivel. Relle-
ne el tanque si el nivel es bajo.
ADVERTENCIA: La gasolina es altamente in-
flamable y explosiva. Puede llegar a quemarse
o herirse gravemente al manejar combustible.

• Detenga el motor y mantenga alejado fuen-
tes de calor, chispas y flamas.
• Maneje combustible en espacios abiertos.
• Limpie derrames inmediatamente.
Rellene en un área ventilada antes de accionar
el motor. Si el motor estuvo en funcionamien-
to, deje que se enfríe. Recargue cuidadosa-
mente para evitar que se derrame combustible.
No rellene más arriba del colador o filtro. Des-
pués de rellenar, apriete el tapón del tanque
cuidadosamente.
Nunca rellene el motor dentro de un edificio
donde los gases de la gasolina puedan ser al-
canzados por flamas o chispas. Mantenga la
gasolina alejada de aparatos con llama pilo-
to, parrillas, aparatos eléctricos, herramientas
eléctricas, entre otros.
El combustible derramado no sólo es un peli-
gro de causar incendios, sino también un daño
ambiental. Limpie derrames inmediatamente.
INSTRUCCIONES DE MONTAJE DEL CHICOTE
PARA FIJAR EL CHICOTE VIBRADOR EN EL VI-
BRADOR DE CONCRETO:
NOTA: Este vibrador de concreto está diseña-
do para trabajar con el Chicote Vibrador de la
marca SURTEK. No intente utilizar el vibrador
de concreto con ningún otro tipo de chicote
vibrador.
1. Asegúrese de que el motor está apagado ya
que el acoplamiento es directo y deben estar
detenidas las partes para poder acoplar sin da-
ñarse.
2. Se introduce el chicote dentro del cañón
asegurándose que la palanca este removida, y
verificando que las muelas del acoplador coin-
cidan para que el acoplamiento macho llegue
hasta su tope.
3. Una vez logrado el
punto (2) se asegura
que el acoplamiento
macho del chicote no
se salga y esto se logra
colocando la palanca
de bloqueo en su lu-
gar.

OPERACIÓN
Para obtener el mayor beneficio posible de su
vibrador se sugieren las siguientes observacio-
nes;
Antes del colado:
• Tener el equipo ya preparado y probado para
eliminar cualquier posible falla.
• Revisar el nivel de aceite del motor.
• Revisar el nivel de gasolina del tanque de
combustible.
• Revisar el conjunto vibrador por alguna pieza
floja o mal colocada para evitar penetración de
agua en su interior.
• Verificación del acoplamiento correcto del
conjunto vibrador al motor.
• Verificar arranque del motor.
• Verificación de vibración del conjunto en
seco, si el cabezal no vibra habrá que dar un
ligero golpe a la punta del mismo para generar
el oscilamiento.
En el colado:
• Colocar el concreto dentro de la cimbra en
capas de 30 a 50 cm antes de iniciar el vibrado.
• Se recomienda que en casos de cimbra pro-
funda se utilice un tubo de bajada en la colo-
cación del concreto.

Cuando los fondos de las cimbras están incli-
nados llenar primeramente con concreto hasta
lograr una superficie horizontal y empezar a
vibrar en la parte más profunda de la cimbra.
Debido a que las vibraciones más potentes se
generan en la punta del cabezal y disminuyen
hacia la parte superior, no se obtiene ningún
incremento en el efecto vibrador si el cabezal
al vibrar el concreto se coloca en posición ho-
rizontal.
Se recomienda, para
tener más eficiencia
en el trabajo de vi-
bración, no inclinar el
vibrador más de 45°
(45° máximo).
Es muy importante que al sacar el vibrador de
concreto fuera de la mezcla, este movimiento
sea lo más lentamente posible para permitir
que el espacio ocupado por el mismo sea ocu-
pado ahora por concreto.
• Nunca apague el motor del vibrador cuando
esté dentro de la mezcla de concreto, siempre
apague el motor cuando el vibrador este afue-
ra de la mezcla de concreto.
• Es importante que el cabezal del vibrador no
golpee intencionalmente el emparrillado o va-
rillas, ya que el contacto con estos materiales
disminuye la vida útil de su vibrador.
• Nunca utilice su vibrador para transportar
el concreto en sentido lateral porque corre el
riesgo de separar o sobre vibrar la mezcla.
• El tiempo recomendado de vibración es de 10
a 20 segundos por inserción.
IMPORTANTE: El vibrar más tiempo en una
mezcla no proporciona mejores resultados,
sino que aumenta el riesgo de separación de
los elementos que componen la mezcla.
Una forma sencilla
de darse cuenta que
el concreto está bien
vibrado es cuando en
la superficie alrededor
del cabezal vibrador
se ve brillante y no
salen burbujas de aire
de él.
La temperatura de operación de un cabezal es

Tapón de aceite/varilla LIMITE SUPERIOR
LIMITE INFERIOR
IMPORTANTE: Evite doblar o forzar la man-
guera en esquinas pronunciadas ya que en el
interior de la manguera usted aumenta la fric-
ción del chicote contra la pared de espiral de la
manguera y disminuye en gran medida la vida
útil de su conjunto vibrador.
Nunca arrastre la vibradora tirando de la flecha
flexible, ya que podría dañar drásticamente a
la flecha, reduce considerablemente la vida útil
de su vibrador y puede causar un accidente al
voltear sin control la vibradora.
MANTENIMIENTO
ADVERTENCIA: El combustible puede dañar
pintura y plásticos. Cuide no derramar combus-
tible cuando llene el tanque. Daños causados
por combustible derramado no cubren la ga-
rantía.
RECOMENDACIONES DEL COMBUSTIBLE
Utilice gasolina libre de plomo con una bomba
de 86 grados de octanaje o más.
Estos motores están certificados para operar
con gasolina libre de plomo. La gasolina libre
de plomo produce menos desechos de motor
y de bujías, y extiende la vida útil del sistema
de escape.
Nunca use gasolina vieja o contaminada, o
mezclas de gasolina y aceite. Evite que el tan-
que se ensucie o contenga agua.
Ocasionalmente puede llegar a escuchar so-
nidos de chispas o golpeteos (ruidos por pe-
queños golpes de metal) mientras opera con
carga pesada. Esto no debe ser causa de preo-
cupación. Si los sonidos de golpes de chispas o
golpeteos ocurren bajo una velocidad estable
del motor, bajo carga normal, cambie la marca
de la gasolina. Si esto persiste, consulte con un
agente de servicio especializado.
ADVERTENCIA: Utilizar el motor con ruidos

puede causar daño al motor.
Utilizar el motor con ruidos persistentes de
golpes de chispas o golpeteos es considerado
como un mal uso, y la Garantía limitada del

REVISIÓN DEL NIVEL DE ACEITE DEL MOTOR
Revise el nivel de aceite del motor con el motor
detenido y en una posición nivelada.
1. Remueva el tapón de aceite/varilla graduada
y límpiela.
2. Inserte y remueva la varilla sin enroscarlo en
el cuello. Revise el nivel de aceite que se obser-
ve en la varilla.
3. Si el nivel de aceite es bajo, rellene al borde
del orificio del tanque de aceite con el aceite
recomendado.
4. Enrosque el tapón del tanque de aceite/vari-
lla graduada cuidadosamente.
ADVERTENCIA: Utilizar el motor con un
nivel bajo de aceite puede causar daños en el
motor.
El sistema de alerta del aceite (aplicable a algu-
nos tipos de motor) detendrá automáticamen-
te el motor antes que el nivel de aceite baje
de los límites seguros. Sin embargo, para evitar
un paro inesperado, siempre revise el nivel de
aceite del motor antes de empezar.
CAMBIO DE ACEITE DEL MOTOR
Drene el aceite usado mientras el motor esté
tibio. El aceite tibio o caliente se drena rápida
y completamente.
1. Coloque un contenedor apropiado en la
parte de abajo del motor para depositar ahí el
aceite usado, y después remueva el tapón del
tanque de aceite/varilla y el tapón de drenado.
2. Deje que el aceite usado se drene completa-
mente, y después vuelva a colocar el tapón de
drenado, y apriete cuidadosamente.
Favor de desechar el aceite usado del motor de
una manera que sea amigable con el ambiente.
Le sugerimos que lleve el aceite usado en un
contenedor sellado a un centro de reciclado.
No lo arroje en la basura, tire en el piso o en
el desagüe.

RECOMENDACIONES DEL ACEITE DEL MOTOR
Un factor de peso que puede afectar el desem-
peño y la vida útil es el aceite. Utilice un deter-
gente para aceite de cuatro tiempos.
SAE 10W-30 es recomendado para uso general.
Otras viscosidades que se muestran en el gráfi-
co pueden ser usadas cuando la temperatura
promedio en su área esté dentro del rango re-
comendado.
ALMACENAMIENTO
Si es posible mantenga su vibrador en posición
horizontal en un rack especial; de otra forma
enróllelo procurando proteger el acoplamien-
to. No se recomienda colgarlo porque la grasa
puede entrar al cabezal en almacenamientos
prolongados.

Remueva el eje. Con un trapo mojado limpie el

GENERAL SAFETY RULES
The most important safety device for this or
any tool is the operator. Care and good judg-
ment are the best protection against injury.
All possible hazards cannot be covered here,
but we have tried to highlight some of the
important items, individuals should look for
and obey Caution, Warning and Danger signs
placed on equipment, and displayed in the
workplace. Operators should read and follow
safety instructions packed with each product.
Learn how each machine works. Even if you
have previously used similar machines, care-
fully check out each machine before you use it.
Get the “feel” of it and know its capabilities,
limitations, potential hazards, how it operates,
and how it stops. We has no duty if person
don’t operate as instruction said.
Failure to follow instructions in this manual
may lead to serious injury or even death! This
equipment is to be operated by trained and
qualified personnel only! This equipment is
for industrial use only.
WARNING: RISK OF EXPLOSION OR FIRE.
• Fuel and its vapors are extremely flammable
and explosive. Fire or explosion can cause se-
vere burns or death.
· ALWAYS shut off motor and allow it to cool a
least 2 minutes before adding fuel to the tank.
· ALWAYS use care in filling tank to avoid spill-
ing fuel. Move compactor away from fueling
area before starting motor.
· ALWAYS Keep maximum fuel level below top
of tank to allow for expansion.
· ALWAYS operate and fuel equipment in well
ventilated areas free from obstructions. Equip
areas with fire extinguishers suitable for gaso-
line fires.
· ALWAYS Store fuel in an OSHA approved con-
tainer, in a secure location away from work
area.
DANGER: CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD.
• Running motor gives off carbon monoxide,
an odorless, colorless, poison gas. Breathing
carbon monoxide can cause nausea, fainting
or death. Some chemicals or detergents may
be harmful if inhaled or ingested, causing se-
vere nausea, fainting or poisoning.
· ALWAYS Keep exhaust gas from entering a
confined area through windows, doors, venti-
lation intakes, or other openings.
· NEVER operate unit in a location occupied by
humans or animals.
· ALWAYS follow manufacturers recommenda-
tions, use a respirator or mask whenever there
is a chance that vapors may be inhaled.
• Whenever necessary, replace nameplate, op-
eration and safety decals when they become
difficult read.
• Manufacturer does not assume responsibility
for any accident due to equipment modifica-
tions.
• NEVER use accessories or attachments, which
are not recommended for this equipment.
Damage to the equipment and/or injury to
user may result.
• NEVER touch the hot exhaust manifold, muf-
fler or cylinder. Allow these parts to cool be-
fore servicing motor or compactor.
• ALWAYS stop the motor before servicing,
adding fuel and oil.
• NEVER run motor without air filter. Severe
motor may occur.
• ALWAYS service air cleaner frequently to pre-
vent carburetor malfunctions.
• ALWAYS check the machine for loosened
threads or bolts before starting.
• ALWAYS be sure the operator is familiar with
proper safety precautions and operations tech-
niques before using compactor.
• ALWAYS store equipment properly when it is
not being used. Equipment should be stored in
a clean, dry location out of the reach of chil-
dren.
• DO NOT operate this equipment unless all
guards and safety devices are attached and in
place.
• Keep all inexperienced and unauthorized
people away from the equipment at all times.
• Unauthorized equipment modifications will
void all warranties.
• NEVER pour or spray water over the motor.
• Test the motor ON/OFF switch before operat-
ing. The purpose of this switch is to shut down
the motor of the compactor.
• Refer to the Engine User’s Manual for mo-
tor technical questions or information recom-
mended for the equipment.

HAZARDS AND RISKS
· NEVER allow any person to operate the ma-
chine without adequate instruction.
· ENSURE all operators read, understand and
follow the operating instructions;
· SERIOUS INJURY could result from improper
or careless use of this machine; Plates compac-

by two people of appropriate strength. Using

MECHANICAL HAZARDS
1. Before performing service, maintenance or
cleaning procedures, always make sure that
the gasoline engine power switch is in the
off position. Allow engine to shut down com-
pletely. Then, remove the spark plug from the
engine.
2. Do not alter or adjust any part of the Con-
crete Vibrator or mounted engine.
3. Always follow and carry out the mainte-
nance plan provided by the manufacturer.
CHEMICAL PRECAUTIONS
1. Avoid contact with fuel, hot oil, exhaust
fumes and hot surfaces.
2. Avoid body contact with the fuels, oils and
lubricants used in the concrete vibrator and
engine. If swallowed, seek medical treatment
immediately. Do not induce vomiting if swal-
lowed. For skin contact, wash immediately
with soap and water. Immediately flush eyes
with clean water.
NOISE PRECAUTIONS
Prolonged exposure to noise levels above 85dB
is hazardous to hearing. Always wear hearing
protection when operating or working around
the Concrete Vibrator.
SPECIFIC SAFETY RULES
WARNING: Your warranty is voided if;
A. Do not add engine oil into the engine crank-
case before first use.
1. Before each use, check the oil level. Never
run engine with little engine oil or oil. Running
the engine with little or no oil will permanently
damage the unit. Read engine manufacturer's
manual (included) for Engine Maintenance.
2. This concrete vibrator is designed for use
only with the SURTEK vibrating whip (not in-
cluded). Do not attempt to use the particular
vibrator with any other type of vibrating whip.
3. Keep labels and nameplates on the Concrete
Vibrator.
4. Never leave the concrete vibrator unat-
tended when your engine is running. Turn off
the engine and wait until it stops turning com-
pletely before leaving.
5. Do not allow children and other unauthor-
ized persons to drive or play with the vibrator.
DANGER: This concrete vibrator is designed
for outdoor use.
6. Never operate the Vibrator in a closed area
or in a poorly ventilated area. The engine of
this vibrator produces carbon monoxide, a col-
orless, odorless, toxic smoke that when inhaled
can cause serious personal injury or death.
Whenever possible, use a carbon monoxide de-
tector (not included) to detect excessive fumes
in the work area and in the surrounding area.
7. Do not force the machine. This machine will
do the job better and safer at the speed and
capacity for which it was designed.
8. Always place the vibrator correctly, not plac-
ing it properly can cause possible personal in-
jury or damage to property.
9. Use the right tool for the job. Do not try to
force the tool to make the work of tools and
industrial equipment bigger. There are certain
applications for which this tool was designed.
It will do the job better and safer to the work
rate for which it was designed. Do not modify
this tool and do not use this tool for an end for
which it has not been designed.
10. Keep tools and equipment empty. When
not in use, the Concrete Vibrator should be
stored in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
Always block the tool and keep it out of the
reach of children and other unauthorized per-
sons.
11. Do not use this tool if you are under the
influence of alcohol or drugs.
WARNING: Persons with pacemakers should
consult their physician before using this prod-
uct. Operation of the equipment in the vicinity
of the pacemaker may cause interference or
failure.

MOTOR
FUNCTIONS AND CONTROLS
FUEL VALVE LEVER
The fuel valve opens and closes the passage
between the fuel tank and the carburetor. The
fuel valve lever must be in the ON position for
the engine to run.
When the engine is not in use, leave the fuel
valve lever in the OFF position to prevent car-
buretor flooding and to reduce the possibility
of fuel leakage.
THROTTLE LEVER
The throttle lever controls engine THROTTLE
LEVER speed.
Moving the throttle
lever in the directions
shown makes the
engine run faster or
slower.
ENGINE SWITCH
The engine switch en-
ables and disables the
ignition system. The
engine switch must be
in the ON position for
the engine to run.
Turning the engine switch to the OFF position
stops the engine.
CHOKE LEVER
The choke lever opens and closes the choke
valve in the carburetor.
The CLOSE position enriches the fuel mixture
for starting a cold engine.
The OPEN position provides the correct fuel
mixture for operation after starting, and for
restarting a warm engine.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
BEFORE OPERATION
IS YOUR ENGINE READY TO GO?
For your safety, and to maximize the service
life of your equipment, it is very important to
take a few moments before you operate the
engine to check its condition. Be sure to take
care of any problem you find, or have your ser-
vicing dealer correct it, before you operate the
engine.
WARNING: Improperly maintaining this
engine, or failing to correct a problem before
operation, could cause a malfunction in which
you could be seriously injured. Always perform
a pre operation inspection before each opera-
tion, and correct any problem.
Before beginning your pre operation checks,
be sure the engine is level and the engine
switch is in the OFF position.
CHECK THE ENGINE
Check the engine oil level. Running the engine
with a low oil level can cause engine damage.
The Oil Alert system (applicable engine types)
will automatically stop the engine before the
oil level falls below safe limits. However, to
avoid the inconvenience of an unexpected
shutdown, always check the engine oil level
before startup.
Check the air filter. A dirty air filter will restrict
air flow to the carburetor, reducing engine
performance.
Check the fuel level. Starting with a full tank
will help to eliminate or reduce operating in-
terruptions for refueling.
CHECK THE EQUIPMENT POWERED BY THIS
ENGINE
Review the instructions provided with the
equipment powered by this engine for any
precautions and procedures that should be fol-
lowed before engine startup.
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
Before operating the engine for the first time,
please review the IMPORTANT SAFETY INFOR-
MATION and the chapter titled BEFORE OP-
ERATION.
WARNING: Carbon monoxide gas is toxic.
Breathing it can cause unconsciousness and
even kill you. Avoid any areas or actions that
expose you to carbon monoxide.
Review the instructions provided with the
equipment powered by this engine for any
safety precautions that should be observed in
conjunction with engine startup, shutdown, or
operation.
STARTING THE ENGINE
1. Move the fuel valve lever to the ON position.
2. To start a cold en-

STOPPING THE ENGINE
To stop the engine in an emergency, simply
turn the engine switch to the OFF position.
Under normal conditions, use the following
procedure.

REFUELING
With the engine stopped, remove the fuel tank
cap and check the fuel level. Refill the tank if
the fuel level is low.
WARNING: Gasoline is highly flammable
and explosive. You can be burned or seriously
injured when handling fuel.
• Stop the engine and keep heat, sparks, and
flame away.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
Refuel in a well-ventilated area before starting
the engine. If the engine has been running, al-
low it to cool. Refuel carefully to avoid spilling
fuel. Do not fill above the fuel strainer shoul-
der. After refueling, tighten the fuel tank cap
securely.
Never refuel the engine inside a building
where gasoline fumes may reach flames or
sparks. Keep gasoline away from appliance pi-
lot lights, barbecues, electric appliances, power
tools, etc.
Spilled fuel is not only a fire hazard, it causes
environmental damage. Wipe up spills imme-
diately.

TO FIX THE VIBRATING SHAFT ON THE CON-
CRETE VIBRATOR:
NOTE: This concrete vibrator is designed to
work with SURTEK brand Vibrator shaft. Do
not attempt to use the concrete vibrator with

coupling is direct and the parts must be static

OPERATION
To obtain the greatest possible benefit from
your vibrator the following observations are
suggested; Before casting:
• Have the equipment already prepared and
tested to eliminate any possible faults.
• Check the vibrator assembly for any loose or
improperly placed part to prevent penetration
of water inside.
• Check the correct coupling of the vibrator as-
sembly to the engine.
• Check engine start.
• Vibration check of the dry set, if the head
does not vibrate, it will have to give a slight
blow to the tip of the same to generate the
oscillation.
In casting:
• Place the concrete inside the frame in layers
of 30 to 50 cm before starting the vibration.
• It is recommended that in case of deep
cramps a drop tube is placed in the placement
of the concrete.

When the bottoms of the frames are inclined
fill first with concrete to achieve a horizontal
surface and start to vibrate in the deepest part
of the structure.
Because the most powerful vibrations are gen-
erated at the tip of the head and decrease
towards the top, no increase in the vibrating
effect is obtained if the vibrating head of the
concrete is placed in a horizontal position.
It is recommended,
for more efficiency in
vibration work, not to
tilt the vibrator more
than 45 ° (45 ° maxi-
mum).
It is very important that when pulling the con-
crete vibrator out of the mix, this movement
is as slowly as possible to allow the space oc-
cupied by it to be now occupied by concrete.

• Never turn off the vibrator motor when it is
inside the concrete mix, always turn off the en-
gine when the vibrator is out of the concrete
mix.
• It is important that the vibrator head does
not intentionally strike the grille or rods, as the
contact with these materials decreases the life
of your vibrator.
• Never use your vibrator to transport the con-
crete sideways because it risks separating or
vibrating the mix.
• The recommended vibration time is 10 to 20
seconds per insertion.
IMPORTANT: Vibrating more time to a con-
crete mix does not provide better results, but
increases the risk of separation of the elements
that make up the mixture.
A simple way to real-
ize that the concrete is
well vibrated is when
on the surface around
the vibrator head it
looks shiny and no
air bubbles come out
of it.
The operating temperature of a handle is
75° to 80°, when you notice that your handle
works at more than this temperature, suspend
its operation and dismantle it for inspection.
IMPORTANT: Avoid bending or forcing the
hose into sharp corners as the hose increases
friction against the spiral wall of the hose and
greatly reduces the life of your vibrator assem-
bly.
Never drag the drive unit by pulling on the
flexible shaft hose, drastically damages the
shaft, greatly reduces the life of your vibra-
tor and may cause an accident by turning the
power unit uncontrolled.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: Fuel can damage paint and plas-
tic. Be careful not to spill fuel when filling your
fuel tank. Damage caused by spilled fuel is not
covered under warranty.
FUEL RECOMMENDATIONS
Use unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rat-
ing of 86 or higher.
These engines are certified to operate on un-
leaded gasoline. Unleaded gasoline produces
fewer engine and spark plug deposits and ex-
tends exhaust system life.
Never use stale or contaminated gasoline or an
oil/gasoline mixture. Avoid getting dirt or wa-
ter in the fuel tank.
Occasionally you may hear a light ‘‘spark
knock’’ or ‘‘pinging’’ (metallic rapping noise)
while operating under heavy loads. This is no
cause for concern.
If spark knock or pinging occurs at a steady en-
gine speed, under normal load, change brands
of gasoline. If spark knock or pinging persists,
see an authorized servicing dealer.
WARNING: Running the engine with persis-
tent spark knock or pinging can cause engine
damage. Running the engine with persistent
spark knock or pinging is considered misuse,
and the Distributor’s Limited Warranty does
not cover parts damaged by misuse.
ENGINE OIL LEVEL CHECK
Check the engine oil level with the engine
stopped and in a level position.
1. Remove the filler cap/dipstick and wipe it
clean.
2. Insert and remove the dipstick without
screwing it into the filler neck. Check the oil
level shown on the dipstick.
3. If the oil level is low, fill to the edge of the oil
filler hole with the recommended oil.
4. Screw in the filler cap/dipstick securely.
WARNING: Running the engine with a low
oil level can cause engine damage.
The Oil Alert system (applicable engine types)
will automatically stop the engine before the
oil level falls below safe limit. However, to
avoid the inconvenience of an unexpected
shutdown, always check the engine oil level
before startup.

ENGINE OIL CHANGE
Drain the used oil while the engine is warm.
Warm oil drains quickly and completely.
1. Place a suitable container below the engine
to catch the used oil, and then remove the fill-
er cap/dipstick and the drain plug.
2. Allow the used oil to drain completely, and
then reinstall the drain plug, and tighten it se-
curely.
Please dispose of used motor oil in a manner
that is compatible with the environment. We
suggest you take used oil in a sealed container
to your local recycling center or service station
for reclamation. Do not throw it in the trash;
pour it on the ground; or down a drain.
3. With the engine in a level position, fill to
the outer edge of the oil filler hole with the
recommended oil.
4. Screw in the filler cap/dipstick securely.
SERVICING YOUR ENGINE
ENGINE OIL RECOMMENDATIONS
Oil is a major factor affecting performance and
service life. Use 4-stroke automotive detergent
oil. SAE 10W-30 is recommended for general
use. Other viscosities shown in the chart may
be used when the average temperature in your
area is within the recommended range.
STORAGE
If possible keep your vibrator horizontal in a
special rack; Otherwise roll up trying to protect
the coupling. It is not recommended to hang it
because the grease can enter the head in pro-
longed storage.
GENERAL CLEANING
CLEAN YOUR VIBRATOR DAILY
Remove the shaft. With a wet cloth, clean the
vibrator assembly by removing all concrete,
dust and dirt residues you may have.
TROUBLESHOOTING
THE SYSTEM DOES NOT VIBRATE
Pendulum and track bathed in oil: Change
head retainer. Clean parts.
Water inside the head: Change tip and tube o-
rings.
(Electric motor). Incorrect rotation: Change the
polarity of the cables in the plug.
Broken harness or damaged harness termi-
nals: Replace harness.
Damaged or broken couplings (grinding
wheels): Replace parts.
Cople of vibrator broken or damaged.
(Wheels): Replace parts.
Damaged pin or nipple: Inspect parts and re-
place if necessary.
DIFFICULTIES TO START, "THERE IS FUEL

PLUG"
Carbon deposit in the spark plug? Clean or re-
place the spark plug.
Short circuit due to poor spark plug insula-
tion? Replace the spark plug.
Incorrect or damaged spark plug cap? Attach
to proper gap.
