2. Press or to select the country that you selected on the handset
that came with the base station, and press to select OK.
The handset displays COUNTRY >FAILED, but has set your language.
All prompts are now displayed in the language associated with the
country that you selected.
Register the Handset
Registration establishes a connection between the handset and the base
station.
If the handset displays UNREGISTERED, you need to register the
handset with the base station as follows:
1. Press MENU.
The handset displays ADVANCED SET >REGISTRATION.
2. On the base station, press and hold the paging key until the In Use
LED starts blinking.
The base station is now in registration mode.
3. On the handset, press OK.
4. If the handset prompts you for a PIN, enter the PIN and press OK.
The default PIN is 0000.
During the registration period, the handset displays SEARCH BASE. At
the end of the registration period, the handset indicates successful regis-
tration by sounding a confirmation tone and stopping the icon from
flashing. The handset then displays its name, number, and clock.
If the registration process fails, repeat the steps above for registering the
handset.
