Making a call
To make a call using the handset:
1. Enter the telephone number using the keypad
To make a call using the speakerphone:
1. With the handset in place, press
2. Press the (call) button, (speaker) button or (ok) button to dial
To make a call using my company or personal directory:
1. Press the (ok) button to bring up the menu options
2. Select Directory and press the (ok) button.
3. Choose one of the following:
a. Local Directory for other wireless handsets that are paired to the same wireless base
station as your wireless handset
b. Network Directory then Enterprise for a complete list of telephone handsets within your
business
c. Network Directory then Personal for a list of telephone numbers saved against your
BeamRing cloud phone personal account
4. Use the (up) / (down) arrows to select the required entry. Press the (ok) button.
5. Use the (up) / (down) arrows to select the required number. Press (call) button to dial
this number.
6. For large company directories or personal contact lists you can search by name to narrow down
your list.

Ending a call
To end a call using the handset:
Press the (end call) button or place the handset back into the charging cradle.
To end a call using the speakerphone:
Press the (end call) button or place the handset back into the charging cradle.

Answering a call
To answer a call using the handset:
Press the (call) button or the Accept soft key to answer the call.
To answer a call using the speakerphone:
Press the (speaker) button to answer the call
Whilst on a telephone call you may switch between handset and the speakerphone by pressing the
(speaker) button

Transferring a call
The BeamRing cloud phone solution provides you with three ways to transfer a call
Attended Call Transfer:
1. Press the button or the Options then Transfer soft keys during a conversation. This places
the call on hold. The first party will hear your music on hold.
2. Enter the number you want to transfer to and press the (call) button, (speaker) button or
(ok) button to dial
3. When the second party answers and is ready to take the call press the button again or press
the Transfer soft key. The call is now transferred to the second party.
Note: If the second party does not wish to take the call then press the End soft key to return to the original
party.
Semi-Attended Call Transfer:
1. Press the button or the Options then Transfer soft keys during a conversation. This places
the call on hold. The first party will hear your music on hold.
2. Enter the number you want to transfer to and press the (call) button, (speaker) button or
(ok) button to dial
3. When you hear the ringing tone of the second party press the button again or press the
Transfer soft key. The call is now transferred to the second party. The first party will now hear the
ringing tone of the second party until they answer or the call is routed to their voicemail service.
Blind Call Transfer:
1. Press the button or the Options then Transfer soft keys during a conversation. This places
the call on hold. The first party will hear your music on hold.
2. Enter the number you want to transfer to and press the button again. The first party will
now hear the ringing tone of the second party until they answer or the call is routed to their
voicemail service.

Call Hold / Un-Hold
To place a call on hold during a conversation:
Press the Options then Hold soft keys to place your call on hold. The handset displays a (hold) symbol
and the caller will hear your music on hold.
To resume the conversation:
Press the Resume soft key, the (call) button or the (speaker) button to return to the telephone
call.
BeamRing Handy Hint:
With the call waiting feature enabled you may place multiple calls on hold. In this scenario to resume the required
conversation use the (up) / (down) arrows to select the appropriate call and then press the Resume soft
key

Muting / Un-Muting a call
To mute your microphone during a call:
Press the button to mute your microphone. The handset displays a muted microphone symbol
and the caller cannot hear your voice.
To un-mute your microphone during a call:
Press the button again to un-mute your microphone.

Redialling a number
To redial a previously dialled number using the handset:
Press the (call) button to view the Redial list. Use the (up) / (down) arrows to select the
required number and then press the (call) button or (speaker) button to dial out.
To redial the last dialled number using the handset:
Press the (call) button twice to redial the last number called.

Voicemail Access
BeamRing alerts the IPW56 handset to any new voicemail messages. When a new voicemail is received the
(message) icon appears at the top of the screen along with the number of unread messages. The
power LED will also begin to slowly flash.
To access your voicemail:
Press and hold the button for one second and you will be connected to your voicemail
You will be prompted to enter your assigned PIN code followed by the hash (#) key

Do Not Disturb (DND)
When you do not wish to be interrupted the Do Not Disturb (DND) feature can be enabled on your phone.
Once DND is turned on your telephone will not ring and all incoming calls will be sent directly to your
voicemail. If your voicemail service is disabled then callers will hear an engaged / busy tone.
To Enable Do Not Disturb:
1. Press the (ok) button to bring up the menu options.
2. Select Call Features and press the (ok) button.
3. Select Do Not Disturb and press the (ok) button two times.
4. Use the (left) / (right) arrows to select Enabled.
5. Press the (ok) button or select the Save soft key to enable Do Not Disturb. The (DND) icon
will display on the handset.
BeamRing Handy Hint –dialing *78 also enables the DND function with an audio confirmation prompt
To Disable Do Not Disturb:
1. Press the (ok) button to bring up the menu options.
2. Select Call Features and press the (ok) button.
3. Select Do Not Disturb and press the (ok) button two times.
4. Use the (left) / (right) arrows to select Disabled.
5. Press the (ok) button or select the Save soft key to disable Do Not Disturb.

Three-way conference calling
During an active telephone conversation you can conference in a 3rd party by using the following process:
To conference a 3rd party:
1. During a conversation press the Options soft key and select Conference. This places the call on
hold. The first party will hear your music on hold.
2. Enter the number of the second party you wish to conference into the conversation and press the
(call) button, (speaker) button or (ok) button to dial
3. When the second party answers and is ready to join the conference call press the Conf soft key. All
three parties should now be in the three-way conference call.
Note: If the second party does not wish to take the call then press the End soft key.

Call Forwarding Enable
The BeamRing cloud phone solution provides you with three call forwarding options.
Forward ALL telephone calls to another number unconditionally:
1. Press the (ok) button to bring up the menu options.
2. Select Call Features and press the (ok) button.
3. Select Call Forward and press the (ok) button two times.
4. Select Always (disabled) and press the (ok) button.
5. Use the (left) / (right) arrows to select Enabled.
6. Use the (down) arrow to select Target and enter the destination telephone number.
Press the (ok) button or select the Save soft key to enable Call Forwarding of all calls. The (call
forward) icon will display on the handset.

Forward telephone calls to another number when I am BUSY:
1. Press the (ok) button to bring up the menu options.
2. Select Call Features and press the (ok) button.
3. Select Call Forward and press the (ok) button two times.
4. Select Busy (disabled) and press the (ok) button.
5. Use the (left) / (right) arrows to select Enabled.
6. Use the (down) arrow to select Target and enter the destination telephone number.
7. Press the (ok) button or select the Save soft key to enable Call Forwarding when busy. The
(call forward) icon will display on the handset.

Forward telephone calls to another number when I DO NOT ANSWER:
1. Press the (ok) button to bring up the menu options.
2. Select Call Features and press the (ok) button.
3. Select Call Forward and press the (ok) button two times.
4. Select No Answer (disabled) and press the (ok) button.
5. Use the (left) / (right) arrows to select Enabled.
6. Use the (down) arrow to select Target and enter the destination telephone number.
7. Use the (down) arrow to select After Ring Time. The default time BeamRing will wait before
diverting a call on no answer is 12 seconds. If you wish to change this use the (left) /
(right) arrows to select the desired diversion time.
8. Press the (ok) button or select the Save soft key to enable Call Forwarding on no answer. The
(call forward) icon will display on the handset.

Call Forwarding Disable
To disable call forwarding of ALL telephone calls to another number:
1. Press the (ok) button to bring up the menu options.
2. Select Call Features and press the (ok) button.
3. Select Call Forward and press the (ok) button two times.
4. Select Always (enabled) and press the (ok) button.
5. Use the (left) / (right) arrows to select Disabled.
Press the (ok) button or select the Save soft key to disable Call Forwarding of all calls.

To disable call forwarding of telephone calls to another number when I am BUSY:
1. Press the (ok) button to bring up the menu options.
2. Select Call Features and press the (ok) button.

4. Select Busy (enabled) and press the (ok) button.
5. Use the (left) / (right) arrows to select Disabled.
6. Press the (ok) button or select the Save soft key to disable Call Forwarding when busy.
