1. INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on purchasing the (VEC142) Vector Corded, Cordless and
Rechargeable High Intensity 12 Volt DC WorkLight. On the job or around the house,
this work light provides ample light to whatever project you may tackle. It is easy to
adjust the light angle and comes with a clamp and hook that allow for positioning the
light for hands-free operation. It uses a powerful, proven-technology, rechargeable, non-
spillable, sealed, 12 volt lead acid battery that provides for years of dependable use,
recharge after recharge. The VEC142 is versatile, practical and the perfect choice for:
travel, camping, picnicking, tailgate parties and boating. This work light gives you the
kind of light you need, when and where you need it.
The WorkLight includes one 12 volt DC and one 110/120 volt AC adapter. This permits
recharge flexibility for use around home, business or in the field. 12 volt DC power is
available from most vehicles, boats, jump starters and portable battery packs. Vector
has a variety of portable power products that would make ideal companions.
2. FEATURES
• Corded, Cordless and Rechargeable for portability
• Powerful 500 watt quartz halogen bulb
• Clamp and hook adapter for versatile mounting options
• Also functions as a 12 volt DC portable power supply
• Reflector swivels and tilts for exact light placement
• Rubber safety guard (bezel) and plastic cage protect the work light
• Toggle power switch – WorkLight ON/OFF
2. OPERATION
A two-position “on/off” switch controls the operation of the WorkLight. The WorkLight
can be continuously lit for up to 25 minutes on a full battery charge. Never operate the
WorkLight during AC charging. FIGURE 1 shows the adjustable angle range of the
WorkLight. FIGURE 2 rearview, shows WorkLight/on/off switch, 12 volt DC socket,
battery charging LED, light angle adjusting thumb screw and the clamp and hook
accessory.
The WorkLight head can swivel 180 degrees, up and down, to accommodate most any
job lighting situation. To release the swivel head from a locked position, simply rotate
the thumbscrew counter-clockwise to loosen. Then position the swivel head in the
desired position and tighten the thumbscrew to hold in place. An additional benefit of
the WorkLight is the utility value of the clamp and hook accessory. Utilizing this
accessory provides many mounting (positioning) options that can allow for hands-free
operation.

BULB REPLACEMENT
NOTE:
It is recommended that the unit be returned to Vector for replacement of the
spotlight bulb. Contact Vector’s Technical Support Department at (954) 584-4446.
NOTE:
When handling a new halogen bulb, do not touch the glass portion of the bulb.
Natural oils from your hands can cause the bulb to fail. If necessary, clean the bulb
with alcohol or a liquid window cleaner.
REPLACING THE AREA LIGHT BULB:
1. This 12volt 0.3 amp quartz halogen bulb is designed to last for the lifetime of
the product.
2. In the event of failure, you may return the spotlight to Vector for bulb replacement.
Contact Vector’s Technical Support Department at (954) 584-4446.
8. BATTERY
1. The life expectancy of the 12 volt 3.0 Amp-hour, sealed lead-acid battery is
approximately 500 charging cycles. A replacement battery may be purchased
through the Vector Technical Support Department by calling (954) 584-4446
2. A fully-charged battery will provide approximately 22 minutes of continuous light
from the spotlight, or up to16 hours of continuous light from the area utility light
3. Do not allow battery to completely discharge, a dim light indicates that the
battery charge is low, and should be recharged or powered from external
DC source. Charge battery as soon as possible after each use
REPLACING THE BATTERY PACK:
All lead acid batteries fail over time and with extreme temperature changes.
Keeping the battery charged periodically will extend battery life to the maximum.
Recharge after each use as soon as possible using AC/DC recharge adapter as
DC recharge methods may not fully recharge the battery to its full capacity. If the
battery does not operate the spotlight for more than 10 minutes and recharge is
sufficient to fully charge the battery, then it is time to replace the battery.

FIGURE 4B -
XTREME SPORT SPOT BATTERY COMPARTMENT

access to the battery from the inside of the spotlight body.
6. Push on the battery from the inside of the body to remove the battery.
7. Set the battery aside and insert the new battery from the rear of the body assembly.
8. Reassemble the spotlight.
9. Place the battery in the compartment taking care to MATCH UP THE PROPER
POLARITY - POSITIVE (red) to positive; negative (black) to negative.
10. Attach wires to terminals.
11. Make sure battery cover is properly aligned.
12. Test the spotlight by operating the trigger switch. Charge the new battery for
18-20 hours using the AC/DC recharge Aadapter.
BATTERY DISPOSAL:
1. Non-spillable sealed lead-acid battery - This battery is fully recyclable and should
be accepted at any location that accepts common automotive starter batteries.
Examples of places that accept these batteries are: County or municipal recycling
drop-off centers, scrap metal dealers, and retailers who sell automotive replacement
lead acid starter batteries. For more information on recycling this battery,
call toll-free (877) 288-7722.
2. Before disposing of the battery, protect exposed terminals with heavy-duty tape
to prevent shorting (shorting can result in injury or fire).
3. Do not expose battery to fire or intense heat as it may explode.
FUSE REPLACEMENT:
The Xtreme Sport Spot®DC power/charging cord is equipped with a 10 amp
cartridge fuse. If this fuse blows, there may be a short circuit in the power cord or
lamp assembly. The fuse will blow if the battery is connected with reverse polarity. The
fuse is accessed by unscrewing (counter-clockwise) the tip of the large DC plug. Check
the fuse with an ohmmeter or other continuity checker. If the fuse is open, investigate
why it blew and correct the problem before replacing the fuse. Reassemble the DC
connector and power the lamp from a 10 amp or greater 12 volt power supply.
