General safety information
The Twister is a pre-assembled component that comes ready to install. It was
designed and built in line with carefully chosen harmonised standards that must
be observed, as well as further technical specications. Consequently, it is
a state-of-the-art product and provides the best possible level of safety while
in operation. The Twister left the factory in a awless condition in terms of
technical safety.
However, safety can only be achieved in practice if all the required actions have
been taken. The persons responsible for installation and operation have a duty
to plan these actions and monitor their implementation.
Observe the following in particular during operation:
• Please read these installation and operating instructions carefully before using
the swivel seat.
• Only accessories obtained from the manufacturer may be used with the Twister.
• Structural modications to the Twister may only be performed following
consultation with the manufacturer.
• Comply with the operating instructions when using and operating the Twister.
• Observe the applicable accident prevention and safety provisions when
operating the Twister.
• The Twister may only be operated if it is in a awless, functional condition.
Arrange for functional faults to be remedied immediately.
• The complete operating and installation instructions must always be carried
in the vehicle.

• This Twister is only suitable for use in the named vehicle types; it may only be
installed in these vehicle types.
• The Twister replaces an original seat without a lateral airbag.
• The swivel functions are only intended to make vehicle entry and exit easier
for people up to a maximum body weight of 160 kg.

Product description
The Twister helps seniors and individuals with disabilities to get into and out of
a vehicle.
People with severely restricted mobility can use it to turn themselves into and
out of the vehicle with ease.
If the Twister is turned so it is facing fully outwards, it can also be pulled right out
of the vehicle until the seat is completely outside.
1. Home position: Twister 0°, seat in rearmost position, facing forwards. The
Twister must be locked in this position while driving.
2.90° position: Twister turned outwards by 90°. The Twister can be pushed out
from this position, to make it easier to get into a wheelchair, for example.
The Twister has 2 positions:

Keep the installation and operating instructions together with the vehicle
documents.

Operate the seat as per the information provided by the vehicle manufacturer.
The standard functionality of the seat remains fully intact.

Tightening torques
The tightening torques as specied by the vehicle manufacturer apply when
converting vehicles using Veigel driving aids.
Unless otherwise stated in the text, the usual DIN tightening torques provided
in the table below apply for Veigel parts.

• Installation and maintenance work may only be performed by specialist sta
using suitable tools.
• Please read these operating instructions carefully before installing the Twister.
• Pass the operating instructions on to the customer, together with the installa-
tion instructions for the Twister and any parts certicate, when you hand over
the vehicle.
• Observe the applicable accident prevention and safety provisions when
installing and maintaining the Twister.
• Only accessories obtained from us may be used with the Twister.
• Structural modications to the Twister may only be performed following
consultation with the manufacturer.
• If the Twister is installed in an authorised workshop, the installation record must
be lled in (see appendix). If it is installed at the factory, a separate installation
record will be prepared and archived at the factory.

Removing the original seat

Only trained individuals may make modications to or work on airbag
systems.
Disconnect the battery and then
wait 10 minutes.
Remove the original seat on the
passenger side according to the
manufacturer's instructions.
Remove the seat belt buckle.
Tilt the seat in the vehicle back-
wards to a position where you can
see underneath the seat.
Now disconnect all the plugs con-
nected to the seat and pull the
cables out of the fastenings so that
the seat is fully disconnected from
the vehicle.
Add the Twister and installation kit to the vehicle documents in accordance with
Section19 Paragraph 2 and Section 21 of the StVZO (Straßenverkehrs-Zulas-
sungs-Ordnung, the German Road Trac Licensing Regulations).

Screw the braces into the vehicle
as shown in the image but do not
tighten them yet.
Use the original screws.
Place the 15x22x5 spacers over
the four seat fastening points.

M8 = 25 Nm ±10%

Screw the Twister and the braces
together.
Use the M8x20 fillister-head
screws and M8 hexagon nuts to
do this.
The fastening screws can now be
tightened to the vehicle.
Make absolutely sure that all the
screw connections sit properly and
are not under strain.

Before assembling the seat, place
the 6x washers provided under
the seat.
Now place the vehicle seat onto
the Twister and secure in posi-
tion at the front and back on the
right using the M8x20 llister-head
screws.
M8 = 25 Nm ±10%

Assemble the seat belt buckle to
the belt connection:
Use the original screw to attach
the removed seat belt buckle to
the holder as shown in the image.
Use the cable ties to attach the
cable to the two designated holes.
Belt connection
Slide the belt connection together
with the assembled seat belt
buckle from the back on the left
underneath the upper plate of the
Twister until the hole template is
ush.
Insert both M8x25 llister-head
screws from above through the
seat rails and secure from below
with the M8 nuts.
M8 = 25 Nm ±10%

In order to screw the M8 locking
nuts onto all the fillister-head
screws , the Twister and seat can
be moved, i.e. turned in and out.
Once assembled, check that
everything is functioning correctly.
Deactivate the vehicle seat airbag on the VW OBD unit!

Assembly
Disassembling the installation kit
Disassemble the installation kit by following the assembly steps in reverse order.
Mount the seat using the original screws.
