1. Introduction

Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid any hazard.
Do not connect the chain to the power supply while it is still
in the packing.
Do not connect this lighting chain electrically to another
chain.
Make sure that the available voltage does not exceed the
voltage stated in the specifications in this manual.

Ensure that all lamp holders are fitted with a lamp.
Do not remove or insert lamps while the chain is connected
to the power supply.
Replacement lamps must be of the exact same type as
stated in the specifications in this manual.
This lighting chain must not be used without all gaskets
correctly in place.
This splash-proof chain is suitable for indoor and outdoor
use. When using outdoors, make sure to connect the chain
to a splash-proof power socket approved for outdoor use. If
in any doubt, contact a qualified electrician.
For outdoor use, do not install the chain or replace lamps
during rain or other inclement weather conditions.
The device is not waterproof. Do not submerge in water or
any other liquid. Not suitable for installation under water.
Not suitable for installation in cabinets, ceilings, or other
enclosures.
3. General Guidelines
Refer to the Velleman®Service and Quality Warranty on the
last pages of this manual.
All modifications of the device are forbidden for safety
reasons. Damage caused by user modifications to the device
is not covered by the warranty.
Only use the device for its intended purpose. Using the
device in an unauthorised way will void the warranty.
Damage caused by disregard of certain guidelines in this
manual is not covered by the warranty and the dealer will
not accept responsibility for any ensuing defects or
problems.

any damage (extraordinary, incidental or indirect) –of any

4. Installation
4.1 Inspection before Installation
1. Take the chain out of the box and unroll it fully.
2. Make sure that the power plug is disconnected from the
power supply.
3. Check the plug, cable, insulation, lamp holders, and lamps
for damage:
oReplace any damaged lamps. See Fitting or
Replacing Lamps for detailed instructions.
oIf you notice any other damage, do not use the chain
and contact your dealer.
4. Make sure that the lamp holders are dry and clean on the
inside and outside.
5. Check if the electrical connectors in the lamp holders are in
the correct position. One shall be flat at the bottom of the
socket, the other shall point upwards, as shown in the
image. If you find a socket with both connectors pointing
upwards, bend one down to match the other sockets.
Only do this when the power is disconnected.

4.2 Fitting/Replacing Lamps
1. Make sure that the power plug is disconnected from the
power supply. Do not replace lamps during rain or other
inclement weather conditions.
2. To replace a lamp, carefully unscrew the faulty lamp.
3. Fold down the rubber gasket over the lamp holder. This
makes it easy to fit the lamp.

4. With the gasket folded down, screw the lamp into the lamp
holder.
5. Fold the gasket back up around the base of the lamp. Make
sure that the gasket fits evenly. The gasket must not be
crinkled.

4.3 Testing
When each lamp holder has a lamp fitted and the gaskets are
correctly placed, test the chain before installing it.
1. Plug the chain into a suitable power socket.
2. Check if all lamps are working.
oIf yes, you can proceed with the installation.
oIf no, disconnect the chain from power and replace
any faulty lamps.
If the problem persists, do not use the chain and contact your
dealer.

4.4 Installation
There must be a lamp fitted in each lamp holder, and each lamp
must be sealed correctly with its gasket. It is not safe to use the
chain with missing or incorrectly placed lamps or gaskets.
To install the chain after testing, proceed as follows:
1. Choose a suitable mounting spot. Make sure that the chain
cannot get damaged, for example by sharp edges, swinging
windows, doors, etc. Also make sure that the chain cannot
cause hazardous situations if it accidentally comes loose.
For example, avoid crossing passageways. Not suitable for
installation in cabinets, ceilings, or other enclosures. Not
suitable for installation under water.
2. To mount the chain, start at the side of the power plug.
Position the power plug near a mains outlet, but do not
plug it in yet. Make sure to leave enough power cable to
easily plug into the mains outlet without stress on the
cable.
3. Start mounting the chain in the desired location.
Make sure not to damage the insulation during installation. Do
not use sharp tools to install the chain. Do not fix the chain to
buildings or other supports using nails, staples, or other sharp,
conducting materials.
4. It is recommended to fix the chain to a support at least
every metre.
4.5 Use
1. Plug the chain into a suitable mains outlet to switch it on.
2. Unplug it from the mains to switch off.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Once a month, inspect the plug, cable, insulation, and lamp
holders for degradation due to weather, UV light, or other
damage. If you notice any deterioration, stop using the
chain and dispose of it.
If a lamp is not working, unplug the chain immediately and
replace the lamp. See Fitting or Replacing Lamps for
detailed instructions. Use only replacement lamps of the
exact same type as stated in the specifications in this
manual.

1. Inleiding
Aan alle ingezetenen van de Europese Unie
Belangrijke milieu-informatie betreffende dit product
Dit symbool op het toestel of de verpakking geeft aan dat, als
het na zijn levenscyclus wordt weggeworpen, dit toestel schade
kan toebrengen aan het milieu. Gooi dit toestel (en eventuele
batterijen) niet bij het gewone huishoudelijke afval; het moet bij
een gespecialiseerd bedrijf terechtkomen voor recyclage. U moet
dit toestel naar uw verdeler of naar een lokaal recyclagepunt

2. Veiligheidsvoorschriften
Lees de handleiding zorgvuldig door.
Dit toestel is geschikt voor gebruik door kinderen vanaf
8 jaar, door personen met fysieke, zintuiglijke of
verstandelijke beperkingen, of door personen met gebrek
aan ervaring en kennis, op voorwaarde dat dit onder
toezicht gebeurt van een persoon die verantwoordelijk is
voor hun veiligheid of hun aanwijzingen heeft gegeven, hoe
zij het toestel moeten gebruiken en zich bewust zijn van de
risico's die het gebruik van het toestel met zich meebrengt.
Kinderen mogen niet met het toestel spelen. De reiniging en
het onderhoud van het toestel mogen niet worden
uitgevoerd door kinderen, tenzij ze onder toezicht staan.
Indien de voedingskabel beschadigd is, dan moet deze door
de fabrikant, diens servicedienst, of een andere geschikte
persoon vervangen worden.
Sluit het toestel niet aan terwijl het nog in de verpakking zit.
Sluit deze lichtslinger niet aan op een andere slinger.
De beschikbare netspanning mag niet hoger zijn dan de
spanning in de specificaties achteraan de handleiding.

Controleer of alle fittingen voorzien zijn van een lamp.
Verwijder of plaats geen lampen terwijl de slinger
aangesloten is op het stopcontact.
Vervang een lamp door een nieuwe lamp van hetzelfde type
zoals beschreven in deze handleiding.
Zorg ervoor dat alle pakkingen correct geplaatst zijn voor u
de lichtslinger gebruikt.
Deze slinger is spatwaterdicht en is geschikt voor gebruik
binnen- en buitenshuis. Bij gebruik buitenshuis, sluit de
slinger aan op een spatwaterdicht stopcontact dat geschikt
is voor gebruik buitenshuis. Neem in geval van twijfel
contact op met een vakman.
Bij gebruik buitenshuis, installeer de slinger of vervang de
lampen niet in de regen of andere ongunstige
weersomstandigheden.
Het toestel is niet waterdicht. Dompel het toestel nooit
onder in water of een andere vloeistof. Niet geschikt voor
installatie onder water.
Niet geschikt voor installatie in kasten, plafonds of andere
afgesloten ruimtes.
3. Algemene richtlijnen
Raadpleeg de Velleman® service- en kwaliteitsgarantie
achteraan deze handleiding.
Om veiligheidsredenen mag u geen wijzigingen aanbrengen.
Schade door wijzigingen die de gebruiker heeft aangebracht
aan het toestel valt niet onder de garantie.
Gebruik het toestel enkel waarvoor het gemaakt is. De
garantie vervalt automatisch bij ongeoorloofd gebruik.
De garantie geldt niet voor schade door het negeren van
bepaalde richtlijnen in deze handleiding en uw dealer zal de
verantwoordelijkheid afwijzen voor defecten of problemen
die hier rechtstreeks verband mee houden.
Noch Velleman nv noch zijn verdelers kunnen aansprakelijk
gesteld worden voor schade (buitengewoon, incidenteel of
onrechtstreeks) –van welke aard dan ook (financieel,
fysisch…) voortvloeiend uit het bezit, gebruik of falen van dit
product.
Bewaar deze handleiding voor verdere raadpleging.

4. Installatie
4.1 Het toestel voor de installatie controleren
1. Neem de slinger uit de verpakking en rol deze helemaal uit.
2. Zorg ervoor dat het toestel ontkoppeld is van het lichtnet.
3. Controleer de stekker, de kabel, de isolatie, de fittingen en
lampen op beschadiging:
oVervang kapotte lampen. Voor meer informatie, zie
Een lamp plaatsen of vervangen.
oIn geval van andere schade, gebruik de slinger niet en
raadpleeg uw verdeler.
4. Zorg ervoor dat de lampfittingen droog en proper zijn aan
de binnen- en buitenkant.
5. Controleer of de elektrische aansluitingen in de
lampfittingen in de juiste positie staan. De ene aansluiting
moet plat op de bodem van de fitting liggen, de andere
moet naar boven gericht zijn (zie afb.). Zijn beide
aansluitingen naar boven gericht, duw dan één aansluiting
naar omlaag zoals in de andere fittingen.
Zorg ervoor dat het toestel ontkoppeld is van het lichtnet.

4.2 Een lamp plaatsen/vervangen
1. Zorg ervoor dat het toestel ontkoppeld is van het lichtnet.
Vervang geen lampen bij regen of andere ongunstige
weersomstandigheden.
2. Draai de kapotte lamp voorzichtig los om de lamp te
vervangen.
3. Trek de rubberen pakking over de lampfitting naar omlaag.
Zo kunt u de lamp gemakkelijk plaatsen.

4. Draai de lamp in de fitting met de pakking naar omlaag.
5. Breng de pakking opnieuw aan rond de lampvoet. Zorg
ervoor dat de pakking goed vastzit. De pakking mag niet
geplooid zijn.

4.3 Testen
Wanneer er in alle fittingen een lamp zit en de pakkingen correct
zijn aangebracht, dan moet u de slinger testen voor het
installeren.
1. Sluit de slinger aan op een geschikt stopcontact.
2. Controleer of alle lampen branden.
oIs dit het geval, dan kunt u verder gaan met de
installatie.
oIs dit niet het geval, ontkoppel de slinger en vervang
de kapotte lampen.
Als het probleem zich blijft voordoen, gebruik de slinger niet en
raadpleeg uw verdeler.

4.4 Installatie
Elke fitting moet voorzien zijn van een lamp en elke lamp moet
correct verzegeld zijn met een pakking. Het is niet veilig om de
slinger te gebruiken met ontbrekende of onjuist geplaatste
lampen of pakkingen.
Om de slinger te installeren na het testen, gaat u als volgt te
werk:
1. Kies een geschikte montageplaats. Zorg dat de slinger niet
beschadigd wordt door scherpe randen, dichtslaande
vensters, deuren, enz. Zorg er ook voor dat slinger geen
ongevallen kan veroorzaken als deze per ongeluk loskomt.
Bijvoorbeeld, hang de slinger niet boven deuren of
doorgangen. Niet geschikt voor installatie in kasten,
plafonds of andere afgesloten ruimtes. Niet geschikt voor
installatie onder water.
2. Begin met bevestigen aan de kant van de stekker. Plaats
de voedingsstekker dicht bij een stopcontact, maar sluit
nog niet aan. Laat voldoende speling op de voedingskabel
zodat u de stekker gemakkelijk in het stopcontact kunt
steken.
3. Hang de slinger op de gewenste plaats.
Zorg ervoor dat de isolatie niet beschadigd wordt tijdens de
installatie. Gebruik geen scherpe gereedschappen om de slinger
te installeren. Gebruik geen nagels, nietjes, of andere scherpe,
geleidende materialen om de slinger aan gebouwen of andere
constructies te bevestigen.
4. Maak de slinger minstens om de meter aan een
bevestigingspunt vast.
4.5 Gebruik
1. Steek de stekker in een geschikt stopcontact om het
toestel in te schakelen.
2. Trek de stekker uit het stopcontact om het toestel uit te
schakelen.
5. Reiniging en onderhoud
Controleer de stekker, de kabel, de isolatie en de
lampfittingen eenmaal per maand op slijtage veroorzaakt
door het weer, uv-straling of andere beschadiging. In geval
van slijtage, gebruik het toestel niet en gooi het weg.

Brandt een lamp niet, ontkoppel de slinger onmiddellijk en
vervang de lamp. Voor meer informatie, zie Een lamp
plaatsen of vervangen. Vervang een lamp door een
nieuwe lamp van hetzelfde type zoals beschreven in deze
handleiding.

2. Consignes de sécurité
Lire attentivement le mode d'emploi.
Cet appareil peut être utilisé par des enfants âgés de 8 ans
et plus et des personnes manquant d’expérience et de
connaissances ou dont les capacités physiques, sensorielles
ou mentales sont réduites, si elles ont été formées et
encadrées quant à l'utilisation de l'appareil d'une manière
sûre et connaissent les risques encourus. Ne pas laisser les
enfants jouer avec l'appareil. Le nettoyage et l'entretien ne
doivent pas être effectués par des enfants sans surveillance.
Un câble d'alimentation endommagé doit être remplacé par
le fabricant, un technicien ou une autre personne qualifiée
pour éviter tout danger.
Ne pas brancher la guirlande tant qu'elle se trouve dans
l'emballage.
Ne pas connecter électriquement cette guirlande à une autre
guirlande.

S'assurer que la tension ne dépasse pas la tension spécifiée
dans les spécifications de ce mode d'emploi.
S'assurer que toutes les douilles sont munies d'une lampe.
Ne pas enlever ou insérer des lampes lorsque la guirlande
est connectée à l'alimentation.
Les lampes de rechange doivent être du même type que
celles spécifiées dans ce mode d'emploi.
Utiliser cette guirlande lumineuse uniquement si les joints
d'étanchéité sont installés correctement.
Cette guirlande est résistante aux éclaboussures et convient
à une utilisation intérieure et extérieure. En cas d'utilisation
à l'extérieur, la guirlande doit être branchée sur une prise
protégée contre les projections d'eau. En cas de doute,
contacter un technicien qualifié.
Pour une utilisation à l'extérieur, ne pas installer la guirlande
ou remplacer les lampes dans la pluie ou dans des
conditions météorologiques défavorables.
L'appareil n'est pas étanche. Ne jamais immerger l'appareil
dans l'eau ou tout autre liquide. Ne convient pas à une
installation sous l'eau.
Ne convient pas à une installation dans des placards,
plafonds ou autres espaces confinés.
3. Directives générales
Se référer à la garantie de service et de qualité Velleman®
en fin de ce mode d'emploi.
Toute modification est interdite pour des raisons de sécurité.
Les dommages occasionnés par des modifications par le
client ne tombent pas sous la garantie.
N’utiliser l'appareil qu’à sa fonction prévue. Un usage
impropre annule d'office la garantie.
La garantie ne se s’applique pas aux dommages survenus en
négligeant certaines directives de ce mode d'emploi et votre
revendeur déclinera toute responsabilité pour les problèmes
et les défauts qui en résultent.

indirects, quelles que soient la nature (financière,

4. Installation
4.1 Contrôler la guirlande avant l'installation
1. Retirer la guirlande de l'emballage et dérouler-la
complètement.
2. S'assurer de débrancher la guirlande.
3. Vérifier la fiche, le câble, l'isolation, les douilles et les
lampes pour détecter des dommages éventuels :
oRemplacer les lampes défectueuses. Pour plus
d'informations, voir Insérer ou remplacer une
lampe.
oEn cas de tout autre dommage, ne pas utiliser la
guirlande et contacter votre fournisseur.
4. S'assurer que les douilles sont propres et sèches à
l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur.
5. Vérifier que les connecteurs électriques dans les douilles se
trouvent dans la position correcte. Un connecteur doit
reposer à plat sur le fond de la douille, l'autre doit pointer
vers le haut (voir ill.). Si les deux connecteurs de la douille
sont pointés vers le haut, plier un connecteur vers le bas
comme dans les autres douilles.
S'assurer de débrancher l'appareil.

4.2 Insérer ou remplacer une lampe
1. S'assurer de débrancher la guirlande. Ne pas remplacer des
lampes dans la pluie ou dans des conditions
météorologiques défavorables.
2. Pour remplacer une lamper, dévisser soigneusement la
lampe défectueuse.
3. Retirer le joint en caoutchouc sur la douille vers le bas.
Cela vous permet d'installer la lampe facilement.

4. Avec la protection vers le bas, visser la lampe dans la
douille.
5. Fixer le joint autour de la base de la lampe. S'assurer que
le joint est fixé uniformément. Le joint ne doit pas être
froissé.

4.3 Tester
Lorsque chaque douille est munie d'une lampe et que les joints
sont placés correctement, tester la guirlande avant de l'installer.
1. Connecter la guirlande à une prise de courant appropriée.
2. Vérifier si toutes les lampes s'allument.
oLe cas échéant, continuer l'installation.
oSi ce n'est pas le cas, débrancher la guirlande et
remplacer les lampes défectueuses.
Si le problème persiste, ne pas utiliser la guirlande et contacter
votre fournisseur.

4.4 Installation
Toutes les douilles doivent être munies d'une lampe, et chaque
lampe doit être scellée correctement par un joint. Il est
dangereux d'utiliser la guirlande avec des lampes ou des joints
manquants ou fixés incorrectement.
Pour installer la guirlande après le test, procéder comme suit :
1. Choisir un emplacement de montage approprié. S'assurer
que la guirlande ne peut pas être endommagée par un

fermée, etc. Veiller également à ce que la guirlande ne
puisse pas causer d'accidents en cas où celle-ci se détache
accidentellement. Par exemple, éviter de l'installer à un
endroit où il y a beaucoup de passage. Ne convient pas à
une installation dans des placards, plafonds ou autres
espaces confinés. Ne convient pas à une installation sous
l'eau.
2. Pour installer la guirlande, commencer par le côté de la
fiche. Placer la fiche à côté de la prise secteur, mais ne
pas encore brancher. Laisser suffisamment de jeu sur le
câble d'alimentation pour brancher la guirlande facilement
sans contrainte excessive sur le câble.
3. Monter la guirlande à l’emplacement souhaité.
Veiller à ne pas endommager l'isolation pendant l'installation. Ne
pas utiliser des outils tranchants pour installer la guirlande. Ne
pas fixer la guirlande à des immeubles ou constructions avec des
clous, agrafes ou d'autres matériaux conducteurs tranchants.
4. Fixer la guirlande à un support au moins tous les mètres.
4.5 Emploi
1. Brancher la guirlande sur une prise secteur appropriée pour
l'allumer.
2. Débrancher la guirlande pour l'éteindre.
5. Nettoyage et entretien
Une fois par mois, vérifier la fiche, le câble, l'isolation et les
douilles pour détecter de la détérioration causée par des
conditions climatiques, rayons UV, ou autres. En cas de
détérioration, ne plus utiliser la guirlande et l'éliminer.
En cas d'une lampe défectueuse, débrancher la guirlande
immédiatement et remplacer la lampe. Pour plus
