DEAR USER,
The Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension is a suspension piece to
connect grabs to the quick coupler system for excavators.
You are urgently requested to read the operating manual and to carefully execute the
instructions when working with the equipment.
VERACHTERT-products comply with all the relevant European safety requirements.
However, it remains necessary to make sure that the safety requirements are met for
all operations, maintenance or repair works. This refers to the safety regulations
mentioned in this book, in the operating manual of the machine and in the local safety
regulations valid for the area in which the product is being used, maintained or
repaired.
Modifying the VERACHTERT-product is only allowed with the permission of
VERACHTERT! Only then the warranty conditions apply.
Warnings
The excavator with grab suspension to Connect’o’maat® adapter plates can only
be operated by authorised persons.
Prevent unsafe work situations.
Make sure that during hoisting activities there are no other persons in the
working area of an excavator with CAG.
Maintenance or repair jobs can only be carried out by well qualified technical
personnel.
Stop the engine before starting maintenance or repair operations. Make sure the
safety precautions are met!
Defective parts must be replaced by original VERACHTERT-parts.

Warranty and service
The warranty obligation of the supplier depends on the correct installation of the
product. Check the working pressure of your machine first. Should there be any
questions, contact your supplier.
Unless otherwise agreed upon, the terms of warranty drawn up by ORGALIME in the
publication of October 1992 apply to this product. Some of the clauses from these
terms can be found at the back of this book.
VERACHTERT is continually improving its products. It reserves the right to change its
products without prior notice.
Apart from supplying a complete range of wrecking tools and other equipment
VERACHTERT can also supply the following services:
- installation service;
- supplying (spare) parts for the equipment;
- repair works and complete revisions.

2. Lifting the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension
Lift the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension by a hoisting sling
through the frame. Also see figure 2.1.
Check the lifting capacity of the lifting strap. The weight of the Connect’o’maat® adapter
plates with grab suspension is shown on the type plate and in Chapter 1 of this manual.
Note:
Is not allowed to put a steel cable or steel chain through the eyes or attach it to the
hooks. The hooks or eyes will damage.

3. Version of the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension
The Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension have been designed to
connect grabs or other pieces of equipment to the Connect’o’maat® quick coupler
system. The Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension consist of a
mounting bracket with adapter plates for the Connect’o’maat® quick coupler system.
The grab suspension has been fastened to this. See figure 3.1.1 for the designation of
the parts.

4. Installation of the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension
Installation of the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension can
only be carried out by well qualified technical personnel.
Mount the CAG using a hoist to the grab of the piece of equipment. Lock the mounting
pin of the grab of the piece of equipment correctly. See the manual of the grab of the
piece of equipment.
Warning:
Never put your fingers in the mounting eyes to check the alignment of the holes!
The Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension are fitted with adapter
plates for the Connect’o’maat® quick coupler system. Refer to the operating manual of
the Connect’o’maat® for connection to an excavator.

5. Operation
Only qualified persons are permitted to operate the excavator with CAG.
Proceed with care! The excavator and the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab
suspension are not indestructible!
Note:
As soon as the excavator is used as a crane and will be used to lift loads of more
than 1000 kg, the excavator must comply with the requirements for lifting
machinery. These are given in standard EN 474-5. If necessary, consult your
excavator supplier.
Use the following instruction for using the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab
suspension:
1. Check that the maximum permissible lifting load of the grab or piece of equipment is
smaller then the maximum permissible load of the grab suspension.
2. Lift straight up only. The grab suspension of the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates
must not be loaded laterally.
3. Make sure that the bucket cylinder is not completely retracted.

4. Never exceed the maximum permissible lifting load of Connect’o’maat® adapter
plates! See chapter 1.
5. Never exceed the maximum permissible lifting load of the grab suspension! Consult
the table for the maximum lifting load.

6. Maintenance
Maintenance and repair can only be carried out by well qualified technical
personnel.

6.1 Maintenance after 200 hours of operation
Warning:
Carry out maintenance or repair only when the engine is switched off!
After 200 hours of operation carry out the following maintenance:
1. Check the locking of the hinge pins.
2. Check the steel construction of the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab
suspension. When you detect cracks, stop the activities immediately, and contact
your supplier. It is not permitted to carry out any welding without the written
permission of VERACHTERT.
6.2 Welding the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with grab suspension
It is not permitted to carry out any welding on the Connect’o’maat® adapter plates with
grab suspension without the written permission of VERACHTERT.

7. Spare parts
The correct and safe operation of VERACHTERT products is only warranted if the faults
that arise are corrected. The repair of defective components is only permitted with the
written permission of VERACHTERT, unless the repair is described in this manual.
For safety reasons, defective components should only be replaced with original spare
parts.

Warranty conditions
Unless confirmed otherwise, the warranty conditions apply as stated in the general
conditions of delivery as laid down by ORGALIME.
The clauses below are extracted from the ORGALIME General Conditions, issued
October 1992.
•The supplier shall remedy any defect resulting from faulty design, materials or
workmanship.
•The supplier's liability is limited to defects which appear within a period of one year
from delivery.
•Defective parts which have been replaced shall be made available to the supplier
and shall be his.
•The supplier is liable only for defects which appear under the conditions of operation
provided for in the contract and by proper use of the product.
•The purchaser shall without undue delay notify the supplier of any defect which
appears. If the defect is such that it may cause damage, the purchaser shall notify
the supplier immediately.
•The supplier's liability does not cover defects which are caused be faulty
maintenance, incorrect erection or faulty repair by the purchaser, or by alterations
carried out without the supplier's consent in writing. Finally the supplier's liability
does not cover normal wear and tear or deterioration.
