DEAR USER,
VERACHTERT's PW-Quick coupler system is a multifunctional tool carrier for wheel
loaders.
With PW-Quick coupler system attachments can be exchanged quickly and easily.
You are urgently requested to read the operating manual and to carefully execute the
instructions when working with the equipment.
VERACHTERT products bear the CE mark and comply with all the relevant EC safety
requirements. However, it remains necessary to make sure that the safety
requirements are met for all operations, maintenance or repair works. This refers to the
safety regulations mentioned in this book, in the operating manual of the machine and
in the local safety regulations valid for the area in which the VERACHTERT product is
being used, maintained or repaired.
Modifying the VERACHTERT product is only allowed with the permission of
VERACHTERT!
Only then the warranty conditions and CE liability apply.
Warnings
Only qualified persons are permitted to operate the wheel loader with the
PW-Quick coupler system fitted to it.
Maintenance or repair jobs can only be carried out by well qualified technical
personnel.
Prevent unsafe work situations. Keep your limbs from moving parts.
Stop the engine before starting maintenance or repair operations. Make sure the
safety precautions are met!
Defective parts must be replaced by original VERACHTERT parts.
In this product mineral oil is used. When applying other types of hydraulic oil
problems may arise. In case of questions, first contact your supplier.

Warranty and service
The warranty obligation of the supplier depends on the correct installation of the
product. Check the working pressure of your machine first. Should there be any
questions, contact your supplier.
Unless otherwise agreed upon, the terms of warranty drawn up by ORGALIME in the
publication of October 1992 apply to this product. Some of the clauses from these
terms can be found at the back of this book.
VERACHTERT is continually improving its products. It reserves the right to change its
products without prior notice.
Apart from supplying a complete range of wrecking tools and other equipment
VERACHTERT can also supply the following services:
- installation service;
- supplying (spare) parts for the equipment;
- repair works and complete revisions.

2. Lifting the PW-Quick coupler system
Lifting of the PW-Quick coupler system is only permitted with the use of a lifting strap.
Put the lifting strap through the mounting holes of the innermost mounting plate. See
figure 2.1.
It is not permitted to use a steel cable or lifting hooks. The mounting holes will be
damaged otherwise.

3.1 PW-Quick coupler system models
The PW-Quick coupler system quick-coupler system makes it possible to fit a wide
range of attachments to a wheel loader is a simple manner. The PW-Quick coupler
system is fastened to the wheel loader. The attachment, fitted with System 2000
adaptor hooks, is mounted on the PW-Quick coupler system mounting pins. The
attachment is fastened to the PW-Quick coupler system with two locking shafts. The
SW 2100 series is fixed to the equipment piece with 4 cotters.
The PW-Quick coupler system described in this manual is equipped with a hydraulic
operating system for the locking shafts (letter ‘H’ in the code). The version with
mechanically operated locking shafts is not covered in this manual.

3.3 Technical data
The PW-Quick coupler system is available in 11 formats. The choice of format depends
on the wheel loader specification. On the type plate and indication is given of which
wheel loader the PW-Quick coupler system may be used.

Careful!
The specified maximal permissible load moment applies to the use of the PW-2500-H
series on sturdy flat surfaces. For other applications bear in mind a reduced stability.

4.1 Hydraulic control system
The PW-Quick coupler system wedge ram is controlled through the wheel loader's
hydraulic system.
There are legal safety requirements applicable for the control systems of quick coupler
systems. The PW-Quick coupler system with hydraulic wedge control can therefore be
supplied with a hydraulic control system that meets all the requirements. For an
explanation of this system and the hydraulic/electrical diagrams see the operating
manual for the VERACHTERT SB operating system.
When the PW-Quick coupler system system is purchased without the VERACHTERT
control system, the user must himself ensure that the control system meets the
requirements. The control system must met the following requirements:
•The control of the locking cylinder must be protected against 'unintentional' operation;
for example, by the fitting of a two-handed control.
•When the system is engaged there should be no pressure build-up on line B
(driving in of the cylinder). Otherwise it is possible to disengage while working!
The middle position of the control slide should have an open connection to the
reservoir. See fig. 4.1.1 no. 1.
•The system must be designed so that after unlocking, the wedge ram remains driven
fully out.
•The maximum operating pressure in the ram is 250 bar, the required oil flow is
approximately 15 l/min.
For further information concerning modifications to the wheel loader, contact your
supplier.
Use of a hydraulic function without the above-mentioned safety provisions is not
permitted. VERACHTERT's CE liability becomes void.

4.2 Hydraulic connections
The hydraulic hoses are connected to the hydraulic connection points on the frame of
the PW-Quick coupler system. See also Section 4.4.
Note:
For safety and environmental reasons it is necessary for the oil lines on the carrying
arms of the wheel loader to be fitted with ball valves!

4.3 Mounting the PW-Quick coupler system on the wheel loader
The PW-Quick coupler system may only be fitted to the wheel loader indicated on the
type plate. The PW-Quick coupler system is adjusted for the capacity of that type of
wheel loader and, more importantly, is fitted with a wheel loader-dependent mounting
plate.
If you wish to fit this PW-Quick coupler system to a wheel loader with a different
specification, written permission is required from VERACHTERT Otherwise
VERACHTERT's CE liability becomes void.
Proceed according to the following instructions for mounting on the wheel loader:
1. Hang the PW-Quick coupler system vertically in front of the wheel loader.
2. Fasten the lower mounting holes to the carrying arm of the wheel loader. (See
Figure 4.3.1 and the wheel loader manual).

Many wheel loader have spacing rings for the lower mounting points. Use these
spacing rings to make the gap between the carrying arm and the attachment as small
as possible. This reduces the amount of wear.
Warning:
Never put your fingers in the mounting eyes to check the alignment of the holes!
3. Attach the wheel loader pressure piece to the PW-Quick coupler system.
4. Check the position of the stops on the PW-Quick coupler system frame. See
Figure 4.3.2. For this, consult the wheel loader operators' manual.
Note: the PW-Quick coupler system is only fitted with stops if this is required for the
wheel loader.

5. Fit the pins in accordance with the wheel loader instructions.
6. Lubricate the mounting points (also see the operators’ manual for the wheel loader).

4.4 Mounting the control system
For mounting a VERACHTERT control system, please carry out the instructions
mentioned in the operating manual for the VERACHTERT SB operating system.
Note: In the diagrams of the SB-control system the cylinder is driven in to lock the
attachment. For locking by means of the PW-Quick coupler system the cylinder must
be driven out correctly.
Carry out the following instructions for mounting another control system:
1. Position the control and operating console in the cabin so that:
•the operator can see the display.
•the knobs can be operated from the seat.
2. Tap off the supply for the control and operating console from after the ignition switch.
The control and operating console must be voltage free when the ignition is off!
3. Mount the hydraulic valve for controlling the wedge ram in the same place as the
wheel loader hydraulic system.
4. Connect the P and T ports of the control valve to the P and T hoses that run from
the bucket ram to the control valve.
5. The hydraulic hoses are not supplied with the PW-Quick coupler system. Use only
hydraulic hoses with the specification given in the table below. Ensure that the hoses
are long enough and that they cannot become trapped by a movement of the wheel
loader or the PW-Quick coupler system. See also Figure 4.4.1. Fit the hoses that run
from the carrying arm to the wedge ram with protective springs.
