The grinders are fitted with a three-core flex and an earthed plug .
Therefore always use an earthed socket . In case an extension lead is
required use a three –core cable with an earthed extension plug and
extension socket.
Mounting On The Bench
The grinder can be secured with screws. The length of the screws
depends on the thickness of the bench . In case a steel bench is used it is
best to mount the grinder on a board attached to the bench to minimize
vibrations. Install the supplied supports and guards after the machine has
been secured to the bench . The machine is now ready for ase .
Safety
1. Keep children away while grinding .
2. Wear safety glasses during grinding .
3. Never grind without the guard covering the stone.
4. Always fasten the support securely.
5. The clearance between the support and the grinding stone should never
be more than 1.5mm.

Grinding Stone
A grinding stone is a very vulnerable piece of equipment. The stone will no
stand bumping. Always grind at the front side of the grinding stone, Never
mount a cracked stone. Replace a cracked stone immediately, it might be
shattered because of the high rotational velocity.
Grinding
Use the stone only for the work for which it is intended , for instance for
grinding tools. So not for heavy duties. Use the entire grinding face do
not grind grooves in the stone . For hard metals you should use a ‘ soft
stone’ . Do not ‘stuff’ the stone by holding for instance wood lead or
other soft materials against the grinding stone . Do not press the
objects to be grinded too firm against the stone. Regularly cool the
objects to be grinded in water. Wood chisels should never be grinded
‘ blue. Take care the object to be grinded does not slip out off your
hands and gets stuck between support and stone. This will cause the
stone to crack, wounding your hands.
Support
The support should always be adjusted when the grinding stone is at a
still stand. Secure the support as best as possible with a maximum
clearance of 1.5mm between support and grinding stone. For this
purpose use a 14mm spanner.

Changing The Stone
Tools required:
Spanner 24mm Spanner 8mm. Screwdriver
Disconnect the plug from the socket.
Remove the guards using the above mentioned tools. The right end of the
shaft fitted with right hand thread. The left end of the shaft is titled with left
hand thread . Bear this is mind when changing the stones.
Take the 24mm spanner and loosen the nut. Remove the old stone. Clean
the clamping discs. Remount one disc on the shaft with the concave side
towards the grinding stone. Slide the new stone on the shaft. Mount the
second clamping disc on the shaft also with the concave side towards the
grinding stone. Tighten the nut on the shaft , but not too fight !
Remount the guard and adjust the support . Run the motor for a few
seconds without grinding .
