Your Vicair®Academy Allrounder is designed to be used as described in this manual.
Please read the whole manual before use.
The Allrounder consists of the following parts:
Outer cover & inner cushion
The outer cover and the inner cushion are integrated in one part. The outer cover is
tted with straps to attach the Allrounder to your body. The inner cushion is made
up of zippered compartments. Each compartment is lled with a specic number of
triangular, air lled SmartCells™.
Seat cover
The seat cover is made of water- and incontinence-resistant material, which is two-
way stretchable. The seat cover is zipped to the outer cover.
Vicair recommends installation and adjustment of the Allrounder under the direct
supervision of your therapist or dealer.
• Remove the clear plastic wrapper.
• Place the Allrounder on a hard surface or a chair. Transfer from your wheelchair to
the Allrounder and make sure you are well positioned.
• Close the waist strap. The strap must t on or just over the waistband of your
trousers.
• Close and tighten the two leg straps (not too tight). The elastic parts will minimise
skin and tissue compression.
Checking for “bottoming out”
Your tailbone and pelvic bones should be supported by the air cells within the cushion;
they must not touch the bottom of the Allrounder. Checking for “bottoming out”
should be done during rst use and after adjustments to the cushion lling.
• Sit on the Allrounder for approximately 20 minutes.
• Whilst seated on the Allrounder, lean forward.
• Let your therapist or dealer slide a hand between the cushion and the buttocks.
• Make sure the buttocks are supported by at least one full layer of SmartCells.
• Do not use the Allrounder if bottoming out occurs. In most cases, adjusting the
lling grade of the compartments will solve the problem.
Adjusting the cushion lling
If necessary, the rmness can be adjusted by removing or adding cells from the
various compartments of the inner cushion.

USE
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
Checking for redness of the skin
Check your skin regularly for redness, especially during the rst few days. If redness
occurs and does not disappear after 15 minutes, stop using the Allrounder. Consult
your therapist or dealer.
Use at high altitude
Because each SmartCell™ is lled with air, the Allrounder may behave differently
when used at high altitude or in an aircraft. Under such circumstances, the cushion’s
rmness can be adjusted by removing a few cells from each compartment. Vicair
recommends not to use the Allrounder above 2400 m (8000 ft) ASL (above sea level).
Water
The Allrounder has been designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Although it has
a water-resistant cover, the Allrounder is not waterproof. Do not take the Allrounder
under water. If the Allrounder gets very wet during use (e.g. when sailing or
canoeing), it must be allowed to dry completely before re-use.
Use during watersport
Vicair advise you to wear a life jacket when using an Allrounder during watersport
activities.
Use in motor vehicles
Normal wheelchair cushions can render the vehicle’s seatbelt system unreliable. The
Allrounder can be used as a safe alternative if you require additional protection during
transportation.
Transferring the Allrounder to another user
Before allowing a second person to use the Allrounder, clean the inner cushion and
wash the seat cover. Disinfect both parts. Make sure the cushion is correctly adjusted
to the second person.
Replacing the seat cover
Under normal use, Vicair recommends replacement of the seat cover every year.
Replacement covers can be purchased separately.
Flammability
Do not use or leave the Allrounder close to a naked ame or a high temperature heat
source.
Caution: Do not steam clean or autoclave the Allrounder. The Allrounder cannot
withstand excessive heat or pressure.

Checking for wear and broken cells
Every three months, check the Allrounder for wear and collapsed cells. In case of
serious damage, or a large number of collapsed cells, stop using the Allrounder.
Consult your dealer.
Cleaning the inner cushion
• Wipe the inner cushion with a damp cloth using a mild detergent. Difcult spots
or stains can be cleaned by rst saturating the spot and then using a soft brush to
loosen the dirt.
• If it is necessary to remove the cells for cleaning, note the number of cells in each
compartment.
• Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaners, or sharp objects to clean the inner
cushion.
• Do not immerse the inner cushion in water or any other liquid.
• Do not wash the lled inner cushion, or the cells, in a washing machine.
Cleaning the seat cover
The seat cover can be machine washed. See the instructions on the label attached to
the inside of the cover.
Disinfecting the Allrounder
In case of soiling with body uids, and when transferring the Allrounder to another
user, the Allrounder must be disinfected to avoid cross contamination.
• Clean the inner cushion and the seat cover as described above. When washing the
seat cover, preferably use an anti-bacterial agent.
• Spray disinfectant on the seat cover and the inner cushion. Bend the compartments
outwards to make sure that the spray mist gets into the gaps.
