Working on the system
■Isolate the system from the power supply (e.g. by
removing the separate fuse or by means of a mains
isolator) and check that it is no longer 'live'.
■Safeguard the system against reconnection.
■Where gas is used as the fuel, close the main gas
shut-off valve and safeguard it against unintentional
reopening.

Intended use
The appliance is only intended to be installed and
operated in sealed unvented heating systems that
comply with EN 12828, with due attention paid to the
associated installation, service and operating instruc-
tions as well as the details in the datasheet.
It is only designed for the heating up of heating water.
Commercial or industrial usage for a purpose other
than the heating up of heating water shall be deemed
inappropriate.
Intended use presupposes that a fixed installation in
conjunction with permissible components designed for
this purpose has been carried out.

Every other use will be deemed to be inappropriate.
Any resulting losses are excluded from the manufac-
turer's liability.
Any usage beyond this must be approved by the man-
ufacturer for the individual case.
Intended use also includes the adherence to mainte-
nance and inspection intervals.

Conversion for other countries
The Vitocrossal 100 may only be delivered to the
countries specified on the type plate. For deliveries to
other countries, approved contractors must arrange
individual approval on their own initiative and in
accordance with the law of the country in question.

Delivery and handling
The boiler is delivered on a wooden pallet.
To facilitate handling, rigid castors are fitted at the back
and a swivel castor at the front of the boiler. Leave the
adjustable feet fully inserted whilst moving the boiler.
Including casing, the minimum handling dimension is
750 mm (for all output sizes).

1. Remove wooden crate C.
2. Position ramp A against the pallet.
3. Remove transport brackets B.
4. Roll the boiler down the ramp backwards in a
straight line.
Danger
The boiler can cause serious injury if it over-
turns.
At least 2 people are required to move the
boiler. Roll the boiler in a straight line.

Reducing the handling dimensions
The casing and certain other components can be
removed to reduce the handling dimensions. If passa-
geways are particularly narrow, the boiler can also be
delivered in individual components.

Note
A suitable condensate drain must be available in the
installation room if the boiler is installed at ground level
(max. 50 mm above the floor).

Extend the adjustable feet until the castors are free of
load.
Level the boiler with its adjustable feet.
Note
If a neutralising system is being fitted, wind out the
adjustable feet as far as possible.
Note
Special foundations are not required.
Removing the front panel
The front panel has to be removed to fit the gas supply
pipe, as well as the room sealed set and neutralising
system (accessories).

1. Tip the front panel forward slightly at the top.
2. Undo the locking screws until the front panel can
be removed.

!Please note
Mechanically loaded gas supply pipes lead to
leaks and appliance damage.
■When undoing or tightening gas connections,
counterhold with a second open-ended span-
ner.
■Ensure all gas connections are kept free of
load and torque stress.
Routing options for the gas supply pipe
If the Viessmann gas supply pipe (accessories) is not
used, select one of the following pipe routing options:

■To the side, left
■To the side, right
■To the back, through the boiler floor
Boiler casing pipe knock-out
On the relevant side or back panel, break out the panel
section along the perforation by tapping lightly with a
hammer.
Danger
Sharp edged metal panels can cause cuts.
Wear safety gloves.
a = Height between top edge of gas pipe and top
edge of base rail of the boiler max. 60 mm.
