Dishwasher Detergent
Use only a etergent esigne for an automatic ishwasher.
Never use oven cleaners or other caustic cleaners not esigne
for ishwashers. These will amage the stainless steel interior,
filters an pump components of your ishwasher. Never use
soap, laun ry etergent or han washing etergent in your
ishwasher, as they are too mil an will cause severe over-
su sing. The foam pro uct prevents the ishwasher from
working properly an may cause amage to the ishwasher.
WARNING: Dishwasher detergent is corrosive. Keep out of
reach of children. If swallowed, drink plenty of water or
milk. Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical advice without
delay. If dishwasher detergent gets into eyes, rinse
immediately with plenty of water.
Storing the Detergent
For best results, keep your etergent container tightly close
after each use, out of reach of chil ren an store in a cool, ry
place. Storage under the sink is not advisable for powdered
detergent, because this area is generally too warm and
moist to keep detergent fresh.

Rinse Agent
A rinse agent causes water to flow off the ishes more quickly,
preventing roplets that ry as spots an improving rying
performance. Rinse agent come in soli an liqui forms. Your
ishwasher’s rinse agent ispenser uses the liqui form.
Filling the Rinse Agent Dispenser
Drying will usually be better if you use a rinse agent. To fill the
ispenser, open the cap an pour the rinse agent into the
ispenser up to the knob for osage setting. The ispenser will
hol approximately four ounces of liqui rinse agent.
Adjusting the Dosage of Rinse Agent
The rinse agent osage is set by the manufacturer an is
ispense automatically into the final rinse. If necessary, the
rinse agent osage can be a juste by inserting a screw river
insi e the filler hole where the a justment evice is set on “4.”
It is recommen e that the ial be a juste only one number
at a time.
NOTE: For soft water conditions, it ay be necessary to reduce
the rinse agent dosage setting.
NOTE: Too uch rinse agent is not advisable as this ight
result in the for ation of foa , especially if the dishwasher is
connected to a cold water supply.

Wash Temperature
Hot water issolves an activates ishwashing etergents,
issolves grease on ishes, an helps glasses ry spot free. If
the incoming water is extremely col ue to unusually col
temperatures outsi e, if you have recently one laun ry or
run hot water for showers, or if your water travels a long
istance from the hot water heater to the ishwasher, the
running time of the ishwasher may be longer to heat the
water to the require temperature.
Checking the Wash Temperature
An incoming water temperature of 120°F (49°C) is
recommen e . However, the Sure Temp Water Heating
System will ensure the water temperatures are correct for the
cycle/options selecte .
• Only start a wash when the machine is completely full.
• Select “ECONO WASH.”
• Do not prewash ishes. Simply scrape, loa , an wash.
• Use the POTS/PANS program only for heavily soile ishes.
• Connect the ishwasher to a col water supply (cycle times
will be longer).
Energy Saving Tips
• A blue light will illuminate from the bottom right corner of
the ishwasher kickplate when a cycle is running.

Hardness of Water
Water has a ifferent “har ness,” or mineral content, in
ifferent locations. The har ness is measure in grains per
gallon (gpg). Fin out your water’s har ness by asking your
local water epartment, county extension agent, or water
softening company. Ask how many “grains” of har ness are in
your water.
The har er the water is, the more etergent you nee . For the
etergent amounts recommen e for use in your location with
your water, follow the gui elines in the chart. With har water,
you nee more etergent to get ishes clean. With soft water,
you nee less.
Too much etergent with soft water can cause “etching,” a
permanent clou iness of glassware. If you have har water, the
ishes as well as the ishwasher itself may accumulate a gray
eposit after some time. This eposit can be reme ie by
using a mil citric aci solution instea of etergent in the
heavy wash program.
How Much Detergent to Use?
The amount of etergent you use epen s on the har ness of
the water an on the cycle you select. Generally, only one
tablespoon (per cup) of etergent is nee e for a normal loa .
NOTE: Line level on detergent dispenser represents 2
tablespoons.
NOTE: In areas with hard water above 12 grains, a water
softener is reco ended.

Maintenance
Your new ishwasher is esigne to give you years of
epen able service. In or er to maintain a high level of
performance, you nee to make sure your ishwasher is
properly care for an cleane . Here are a few things you can
o to make sure your ishwasher performs at its highest level.
Filters
The filters are important, because they continuously filter wash
water. Un er normal operation, the filters are self cleaning an
require no maintenance. If there is a heavy amount of foo soil,
se iment or har water con itions, it may be necessary to clean
the filters after each use. To clean, remove the filters as shown
in the above illustration an soak overnight in a 50/50 solution
of water an vinegar. Citric cleaner an water are also
acceptable. Filters shoul appear bright when clean.
The Coarse Strainer
Large foo particles that can’t pass through the rainage pump
are collecte in the coarse strainer. Lift out an empty the
coarse strainer when necessary. Don’t forget to put it back
again. It is normal for a small amount of water to remain in the
coarse strainer area.
