POWER SUPPLY
Use with regular batteries (not included)
1. Open the battery c mpartment d r, l cated in the inside f the unit, by
sliding the d r and lift it up. (D n t rem ve the battery d r).
2. Insert 2 x 1.5V /UM-3/AA size alkaline batteries, f ll wing the c rrect
p larity, as indicated in the battery c mpartment.
3. Cl se the battery c mpartment d r.
Note: If the symbol " " appears in the display, batteries are weak and
ought to be replaced.
Use with AC/DC adaptor
1. Insert the DC plug, at the end f the AC/DC adapt r c rd, int the DC 4.5
V INPUT s cket (19) l cated n the side f the unit.
2. C nnect the AC/DC adapt r int a 230V ~ 50Hz AC p wer utlet.
Notes:
• If the AC adaptor is connected when regular batteries are installed, the
power supply
automatically switches to the AC power source.
• se only the supplied AC/DC adaptor. sing other types of adaptor may
damage the unit.
• Make sure that the AC/DC adaptor matches with your household voltage
before con
necting it into the wall outlet.
• When not using AC power, disconnect the AC/DC adaptor from the wall
outlet.
• Do not touch the AC/DC adaptor with wet hands.
Use rechargeable batteries (not included)
1. Disc nnect the AC/DC adapt r fr m the wall utlet if it is being c nnected
t the unit.
2. Open the battery c mpartment d r as menti ned previ usly.
3. Insert 2 rec mmended rechargeable batteries, f ll wing the c rrect
p larity as indicated in the battery c mpartment.
4. Cl se the battery c mpartment d r.
5. M ve the CHARGE SWITCH (16) t ON t start recharging functi n. The
red CHARGE indicat r (12) will light up.
6. After 15 h urs f charging set the CHARGE SWITCH (16) t OFF.

Cautions:
• DO NOT mix the rechargeable (Nickel-Cadmium) and regular(Carb n-
zinc) batteries.
• DO NOT charge c ntinu usly f r 24 h urs r m re, therwise it will deteri-
rate the
perf rmance f the rechargeable batteries.
• DO NOT try t recharge n rmal (n t rechargeable) batteries. They can
expl de!
Notes:
• If the rechargeable batteries are being charged for the first time, it will
take approximately 15 hours to be fully charged.
• If the operating time decreases drastically even when the rechargeable
batteries are properly recharged, purchase a new set of rechargeable bat-
teries.
CONNECTIONS
External Audio System
C nnect the stere c nnecti n cable (n t included) int the LINE OUT jack
(15) f the unit and the CD/AUX f y ur audi system. (D n t c nnect it t
the amplifier ph n jack.) N te: Always switch ff the p wer bef re making
any c nnecti ns between the CD player and ther audi system.
• If the CD player interference with the TV r radi recepti n, m ve the CD
player away fr m TV set r radi receiver.
EARPHONES
C nnect the stere earph nes (included) t the Ph nes jack (11).
CD/MP3 PLAYBACK
1. C nnect the earph nes (included) r pti nal headph nes int the
Ph nes jack.
2. Press the D r Open butt n (13) t pen the CD c mpartment d r.
3. Insert a disc with the label side facing up.
4. Cl se the CD c mpartment d r until a click is heard.
5. Set the VOLUME c ntr l (14) t minimum.
6. Press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) butt n (4), the unit p wer will turn n aut -
matically and sh w "READING" and start playback.

IN CASE OF CD DISC
The t tal number f tracks and t tal playing time appear n the display. Press
Play t start Playback.
During playback, the actual track and the elapsed time appear.
IN CASE OF MP3 DISC
The t tal number f albums and tracks appear n the display. The inf rma-
ti ns f the file will be sh wn n the display.
CD + MP3
7. Adjust the VOLUME c ntr l t y ur desired listening level.
8. T st p playback temp rarily, press the PLAY/PAUSE ( ) butt n (4)
nce. The elapsed time and track number will flash n the display. Press the
PLAY/PAUSE ( ) butt n again t resume playback.
9. T st p playback, press the STOP (9) butt n nce.
10.T turn the unit ff, press the STOP (9) twice.
Notes:
• When the CD door is accidentally opened during playback, "OPEN" will
appear on the display.
• Wait until the disc is fully stopped before pressing the OPEN (13) button.
• This unit can play 3" (8cm) single CDs without an adaptor.
LOCATING A PARTICULAR TRACK
OR POINT OF THE TRACK IN CD
1. Press the BACKWARD ( ) butt n nce t g back t the beginning f
the current track.
2. Press the BACKWARD ( ) butt n repeatedly t g back t previ us
tracks.
3. Press the FORWARD ( ) butt n repeatedly t g t next tracks.
4. Press and h ld either FORWARD ( ) r BACKWARD ( ) butt n t
search backwards r f rwards, at high speed, a particular p int f track.
Note: Low level audio will be heard during the search process to assist in
locating the correct point in the track.
IN MP3
1. Press the BACKWARD ( ) butt n nce t g back t the beginning f
the current track.
2. Press the BACKWARD ( ) butt n repeatedly t g back t previ us

3. Press the FORWARD ( ) butt n repeatedly t g t next tracks.
REPEAT PLAYBACK
In CD
1. Press the PLAY/PAUSE butt n (4) the CD will start playback f the track.
2. T repeat the same track, press the MODE butt n nce. The f ll wing will
appear n the display: " ". The track will be repeated.
The CD will start single repeat playback until STOP butt n (9) is pressed.
Press the MODE butt n 4 times m re t cancel single repeat. The indicat r
" " disappears fr m the display.
3. T repeat the entire disc, press the MODE butt n twice. The f ll wing will
appear n the display: " ALL ", all the tracks n the CD will be repeated.
Press the MODE butt n 3 times m re t cancel all disc repeat. The indicat r
" ALL " disappears fr m the display.
In MP3
1. Press the PLAY/PAUSE butt n (4) the CD will start playback f the track.
2. T repeat the same track, press the MODE butt n. The f ll wing will
appear n the display: " "
The track will be repeated until STOP butt n (9) is pressed. Press the MODE
butt n 5 times t cancel single repeat. The " " indicat r disappears fr m
the display.
3. T repeat the entire ALBUM, press the MODE butt n twice. The f ll wing
will appear n the display: " ALBUM ", all the tracks n the album will be
repeated.
Press the MODE butt n 4 times t cancel all Album repeat. The " ALBUM
" indicat r disappears fr m the display.
4. T repeat the entire MP3 disc, press the MODE butt n three times. The
f ll wing will appear n the display: " ALL ", all the tracks f all the albums
n the disc will be repeated. Press the MODE butt n 3 times t cancel all
disc repeat. The " ALL " indicat r disappears fr m the display.
INTRO PLAY
In CD
1. Press the STOP butt n (9).
2. Press the MODE butt n three times t enter the Intr m de, 'INT' appears
n the display.
3. Press the PLAY/PAUSE butt n, CD will play the first 10 sec nds f each

4. Press MODE butt n twice m re t cancel Intr playback and resume n r-
mal playback.
In MP3
1. Press the STOP butt n (9).

3. Press the PLAY/PAUSE butt n, CD will play the first 10 sec nds f each
track f each album n the CD.
4. Press MODE butt n twice t cancel Intr playback and resume n rmal
playback.
RANDOM PLAY
In CD
1. Press the STOP butt n (9).
2. Press the MODE butt n 4 times t enter the Rand m m de. "RDM"
appears n the display, then press PLAY/PAUSE butt n (4) t start playback
in Rand m rder.
3. Press SKIP F rward butt n (2) t g t next Rand m track.
4. Press the MODE butt n nce t return t the N rmal Playback m de.
In MP3
1. Press the STOP butt n (9).
2. Press the MODE butt n 5 times t enter the Rand m m de. "RDM"
appears n the display, then press PLAY/PAUSE butt n (4) t start playback
f all tracks f all albums in Rand m rder.
3. Press SKIP butt n (2) t g t next Rand m track.
PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK
In CD
1. Press the PLAY/PAUSE butt n (4) and after 5 sec nds the STOP butt n
(9).
2. Press the PROGRAM butt n (6). The track number will appear and "PGM"
will appear n the display indicating the first selecti n.

4. Press nce the PROGRAM butt n (6) t enter the track int mem ry.
5. Repeat the steps 3 and 4 t pr gram up t 64 tracks.
6. Press PLAY/PAUSE ( ) butt n (4) nce t start pr grammed playback.
7. T cancel pr grammed playback, press the STOP butt n (9) twice.
Note: During program playback, if you wish to repeat the entire programmed
playback, press the MODE button repeatedly until the " ALL " indicator
appears on the display.
In MP3
1. Press the PLAY/PAUSE butt n (4) and after 8 sec nds the STOP butt n
(9).
2. Press the PROGRAM butt n (6) nce. The Album number will appear n
the display indicating the first selecti n.
3. Press BACKWARD ( ) r FORWARD ( ) butt n t select the desired
Album t be pr grammed. Album number will appear n the display. Press
the pr gram butt n the track number will flash.
4. Press BACKWARD ( ) r FORWARD ( ) butt n t select the desired
track t be pr grammed. Track N . will appear n the display.
5. Press nce m re the PROGRAM butt n (6) t enter the album number
and the track int mem ry.
6. Repeat the steps 2 t 5 t pr gram up t 64 tracks.
7. Press PLAY/PAUSE ( ) butt n (4) nce t start pr grammed playback.
8. T cancel pr grammed playback, press the STOP butt n (9) twice.
SEARCHING SONG BY NAME
Direct Search by Character
• Push "ASP/DIR NEXT" butt n, "A" indicati n is appears in display
and " " is blinking, means search m de is activated.
• With "SKIP / " y u can select the character which y u want.
• When y u have selected the first character f the s ng, then push "SKIP
" l nger than 2 sec nds the character is fixed, and first s ng which has

• With "SKIP / " y u can select the s ng y u want.
• Push PLAY/PAUSE then the s ng will play.
Directory (album) Search
• Push "ASP/DIR NEXT" butt n twice. Then " 01" will be displayed in the
display.
• With " / " key, select Album number y u want.
• Push " " butt n l nger than 2 sec nds then the album is fixed and the
name f s ng is displayed.
• With " / " key, select the s ng y u want.
• Push "PLAY/PAUSE " key, the s ng y u selected will start.
SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
Dynamic Bass Boost
Set the BASS BOOST switch (17) t "ON" p siti n t enj y a m re p werful
Bass s und.
Note: Since Bass Boost performance will change depending on the volume
level, sound maybe distorted due to high volume is set. Lower the volume
level until the sound quality is improved.
Display mode change (MP3)
When MP3 s ng is played, the s ng title and the file name are displayed.
When push "MODE" butt n l nger than 2 sec nds, the display is changed t
numerical sh wing f Album number file number and running time. When
push "MODE" butt n l ng than 2 sec nds again, then return t character
display.
Auto Power Off
When the STOP butt n is pressed nce (standby m de) after 60 sec nds,
the Aut P wer Off functi n will activated and turn the unit ff aut matically.
If the STOP butt n is pressed twice the unit will turn ff.
Anti shock Function
• If in use, the player is likely t receive sh cks r vibrati ns (i.e. whilst
walking r in a m ving vehicle), The ANTI-SHOCK functi n is active t pr -
vide uninterrupted playback when p wer n.
• As s n as the PLAY/PAUSE butt n is pressed, "ASP" will flash n the dis-
play and the functi n is initialised. When "ASP" st ps flashing, the mem ry
buffer is full.
• Sh uld the player receive sh cks f r m re than 45 sec nds c ntinu usly
in CD playback r 120 sec nds in MP3 playback, the s und can mute f r a
