SAFETY MEASURES
Before using the radio, read this
instruction manual carefully and
keep it for future reference.
Use the unit for intended purposes
only, as specified in this manual.
Mishandling of the unit may lead
to its breakage and cause harm to the
user or damage to his/her property.
• Before connecting the radio to the
mains check whether your home
mains voltage corresponds to the
voltage specified on the device
housing.
• To avoid the risk of fire or electric
shock, do not expose the unit to
rain or moisture.
• Do not immerse the power cord,
the power plug or the radio itself
into water or other liquids.
• To prevent fire or electric shock
hazard do not place and do not
use the radio in places with high
humidity (near bath tubs, kitchen
sinks, near a swimming pool, in
wet basements, etc.)
• Place the radio in such a way that
you can immediately pull out the
plug from the socket in case of
any malfunction.
• For protection of the radio during
power surges, lightning storms
and in cases when you are not
going to use it for a long time,
unplug the unit.
• Never pull the power cord when
disconnecting the radio from the
mains, take the power plug and
carefully remove it from the mains
socket.
• When the radio is battery powered
and you are not using it for a long
time, remove the batteries from
the battery compartment.
• For children safety reasons do not
leave polyethylene bags, used as
packaging, unattended.
Attention! Do not allow children to
play with polyethylene bags or pack-
aging film. Danger of suffocation!
• Do not allow children to touch
the power cord during the unit
operation.
• Do not leave children unattended
to prevent using the unit as a toy.

• During the radio operation place it
out of reach of children.
• This unit is not intended for usage
by children.
• The unit is not intended for usage
by physically or mentally disabled
persons (including children) or
by persons lacking experience or
knowledge if they are not under
supervision of a person who is
responsible for their safety or if
they are not instructed by this per-
son on the usage of the unit.
• Never use the radio if the power
cord or the plug is damaged, if the
unit works improperly or after it
was dropped.
• Do not attempt to repair the unit.
Do not disassemble the unit by
yourself, if any malfunction is
detected or after it was dropped,
unplug the unit and apply to any
authorized service center from
the contact address list given in
the warranty certificate and on the
website www.vitek.ru.
• To avoid damages, transport the
unit in the original package only.
• For environment protection do not
discard the unit with usual house-
hold waste after its service life
expiration; apply to a specialized
center for further recycling.
• Keep the unit out of reach of chil-
dren and disabled persons.
THE UNIT IS INTENDED FOR
HOUSEHOLD USAGE ONLY
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
After unit transportation or stor-
age at low temperature keep it
for at least three hours at room
temperature before switching on.
USING THE RADIO
Battery installation
• Open the battery compartment
lid (11) and insert 3 UM-2 batter-
ies (not supplied), strictly follow-
ing the polarity.
• Close the battery compartment
lid (11).
Note:
– do not use old and new batter-
ies together or different types of
batteries;
– when the radio operation is
unstable, check the batteries and
replace them if necessary;
– remove the batteries if you are
not planning to use the radio for
a long time.
• Before connecting the radio to the
mains, make sure that your home
mains voltage corresponds to the
unit operating voltage.
• If the unit is mains-supplied, insert
the power cord jack (14) into the
connector (13) «AC IN» and the
power cord plug into the socket.
The batteries installed in the battery
compartment will be switched off.
CURRENT TIME SETTING
1. Make sure that the radio is
switched off.
2. Press and hold down the button
(3) «CLOCK SET», the time format
symbols will be flashing on the
display (2).
3. Press the button (4) «PRESET»
to select the 12 hour format or
24 hour format.

4. Press the button (3) «CLOCK
SET» to confirm the time format,
the “hours” setting symbols will be
flashing on the display (2).
5. Press the buttons (4) «PRESET +»
or «PRESET -» to set the current
time in “hours”.
6. Press the button (3) «CLOCK
SET» to confirm the time in hours,
the “minutes” setting symbols will
be flashing on the display (2).
7. Press the buttons (4) «PRESET +»
or «PRESET -» to set the current
time in “minutes”.
8. To finish time settings press the
button (3) «CLOCK SET».
Note: if no current time setting but-
tons are pressed within 15 seconds,
the clock will switch to default set-
tings.
Alarm actuation time setting
1. Make sure that the radio is
switched off.
2. Press and hold down the but-
ton (8) «PROG/ALARM SET», the
flashing “alarm” symbols and time
indications in “hours” will appear
on the display (2).
3. Press the buttons (4) «PRESET +»
or «PRESET -» to set the current
time in “hours”.
4. Press the button (8) «PROG/
ALARM SET» to confirm the
“hours”, the flashing “minutes”
symbols will appear on the dis-
play (2).
5. Press the buttons (4) «PRESET +»
or «PRESET -» to set the current
time in “minutes”.
6. Press the button (8) «PROG/
ALARM SET» to confirm the “min-
utes”, the sound signal symbols
«Buzz» or «Radio» will appear on
the display (2); select the sound
signal type by pressing the buttons
(4) «PRESET +» or «PRESET -».
7. To finish the alarm actuation
time setting press the button (8)
«PROG/ALARM SET».
Note:
– in current time mode press the
button (8) «PROG/ALARM SET»
to switch the alarm on, the alarm
symbol will appear on the dis-
play (2).
– to switch the alarm off press the
button (8) «PROG/ALARM SET»
again, the alarm symbol on the
display (2) will go out.
– if you select the alarm signal
«Radio», first tune the radio to the
desired radio station and set the
volume level.
Snooze function
During the alarm (radio) signal you
can press the button (1) «SNOOZE/
SLEEP» to switch the alarm off for
9 minutes; the alarm signal will be
repeating until you switch it off by
pressing the button (8) «PROG/
ALARM SET».
Radio switch-off time setting
1. During the radio operation select
the switch-off time by press-
ing the button (1) «SNOOZE/
SLEEP» repeatedly; the flashing
symbol «SLEEP» and the digital
indications of time left before the
switching off will appear on the
