The radio is intended for listening to
the radio stations within the «AM» or
«FM» bands.

SAFETY MEASURES
Before using the radio, read this
instruction manual carefully and
keep it for future reference.
Use the unit for intended purposes
only, as specified in this manual.
Mishandling of the unit may lead
to its breakage and cause harm
to the user or damage to his/her
property.
• Before connecting the radio to the
mains check whether your home
mains voltage corresponds to the
voltage specified on the device
housing.
• To avoid the risk of fire or electric
shock, do not expose the unit to
rain or moisture.
• Do not immerse the power cord,
the power plug or the radio itself
into water or other liquids.
• To prevent fire or electric shock
hazard do not place and do not
use the radio in places with high
humidity (near bath tubs, kitchen
sinks, near a swimming pool, in
wet basements, etc.)
• Place the radio in such a way that
you can immediately pull out the
plug from the socket in case of
any malfunction.
• For protection of the radio during
power surges, lightning storms
and in cases when you are not
going to use it for a long time,
unplug the unit.
• Never pull the power cord when
disconnecting the radio from the
mains, take the power plug and
carefully remove it from the mains
socket.
• When the radio is battery powered
and you are not using it for a long
time, remove the batteries from
the battery compartment.
• For children safety reasons do not
leave polyethylene bags, used as
packaging, unattended.
Attention! Do not allow children to
play with polyethylene bags or pack-
aging film. Danger of suffocation!
• Do not allow children to touch
the power cord during the unit
operation.
• Do not leave children unattended
to prevent using the unit as a toy.
• During the radio operation place it
out of reach of children.
• This unit is not intended for usage
by children.

• The unit is not intended for usage
by physically or mentally disabled
persons (including children) or
by persons lacking experience or
knowledge if they are not under
supervision of a person who is
responsible for their safety or if
they are not instructed by this per-
son on the usage of the unit.
• Never use the radio if the power
cord or the plug is damaged, if the
unit works improperly or after it
was dropped.
• Do not attempt to repair the unit.
Do not disassemble the unit by
yourself, if any malfunction is
detected or after it was dropped,
unplug the unit and apply to any
authorized service center from
the contact address list given in
the warranty certificate and on the
website www.vitek.ru.
• To avoid damages, transport the
unit in the original package only.
• For environment protection do not
discard the unit with usual house-
hold waste after its service life
expiration; apply to a specialized
center for further recycling.
• Keep the unit out of reach of chil-
dren and disabled persons.
THE UNIT IS INTENDED FOR
HOUSEHOLD USAGE ONLY
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
After unit transportation or stor-
age at low temperature keep it
for at least three hours at room
temperature before switching on.
USING THE RADIO
Battery installation
• Open the battery compartment
lid (7) and insert 3 UM-2 batteries
(not supplied), strictly following
the polarity.
• Close the battery compartment
lid (7).
Note:
– do not use old and new batter-
ies together or different types of
batteries;
– when the radio operation is
unstable, check the batteries and
replace them if necessary;
– remove the batteries if you are
not planning to use the radio for
a long time.
• Before connecting the radio to the
mains, make sure that your home
mains voltage corresponds to the
unit operating voltage.
• If the unit is mains-supplied, insert
the power cord jack into the con-
nector (9) «AC IN» and the power
cord plug into the socket. The
batteries installed in the battery
compartment will be switched off.
• Switch the radio on with the switch
(4) and set it for reception in the
necessary «FM/AM» range.
• Tune to the desired radio station
using the tuning knob «TUNING».
• To set the desired volume level, use
the volume control (3) «VOLUME».
Notes:
– for better reception in FM range
extend antenna (5) complete-
ly and place it under the desired
angle;

– the built-in antenna receives sig-
nal in AM range; for better recep-
tion in AM range try to place the
radio horizontally and direct it to
the transmitting radio station.
• After you finish listening, switch the
unit off by setting the switch (4) to
the «OFF» position, and if the unit is
mains-supplied, unplug it.
EARPHONES CONNECTION
To listen to the radio via earphones
(not included) connect them to the
jack (6) «PHONE». Set the desired
volume level using the volume button
(3) «VOLUME». When connecting the
earphones the radio speaker will be
switched off automatically.
ATTENTION! Do not set high volume
while using the earphones. To pre-
vent impairment of hearing when
listening to the radio via the ear-
phones do not set too high volume,
the experts advise not to listen to the
radio at a high volume for a long time.
CLEANING AND CARE
• Clean the radio body with a soft,
slightly damp cloth and then wipe
it dry.
• Never use abrasives or solvents.
• Do not immerse the power cord,
the power plug or the radio itself
into water or other liquids.
• Remove the batteries if you are
not planning to use the radio for
a long time.
• Keep the radio away from children
in a dry cool place.
