Do not use this apparatus near water.

Do not install near any heat sources such as
radiators, stoves, or other apparatus (including
amplifiers) that produce heat.
Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized
or grounding type plug. A polarized plug has two
blades with one wider than the other. A grounding
type plug has two blades and a third grounding
prong. The wider blade or the third prong is
provided for your safety. If the provided plug does
not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for
replacement of the obsolete outlet.
ELECTRICAL INFORMATION
MAIN SUPPLY AND SAFETY
Main Supply : The mains operating voltage of all
Rendez-vous series units is shown on the rear
panel. If this voltage does not match the mains
voltage in your area, consult your dealer about
converting the units.

MQA (Master Quality authenticated)
Rendez-vous includes MQA technology, which
enables you to play back MQA audio files and
streams, delivering the sound of the original
master recording.
Protect the power cord from being walked on or
pinched, particularly at plug, convenience
receptacles, and the point where they exit from the
apparatus.
Use only attachments/accessories specified by the
manufacturer.
Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or
when unused for long periods of time.
Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
Servicing is required when the apparatus has been
damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or
plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects
have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has
been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate
normally, or has been dropped.
Warning: To reduce the risk of fire or electrical
shock, do not expose this product to rain or
moisture. The product must not be exposed to
dripping and splashing and no object filled with
liquids such as a vase of flowers should be placed
on the product. No naked flame sources such as
candles should be placed on the product.
Caution: Changes or modification not expressly
approved by the manufacturer could void the user’s
authority to operate this device.

INTRODUCTION
Rendez-vous stream player offers complete reproduction from original source, not
only audio but also video with 4K UHD 10 bit HDR on android app. It particularly
plays audio files up to 32-bit / 384 kHz and Native DSD up to DSD256 on this
proprietary HRAV application as well as native support for Tidal, Qobuz, and
Internet Radio.
Please read this manual carefully before you begin to install and use the equipment.
PRODUCT REGISTRATION AND WARRANTY
Rendez-vous player is guaranteed against any defect in material and workmanship for a
period of one year from the date of purchase. Proof of purchase is required for Warranty claims.
Please complete and return the enclosed Warranty Registration form. Within the warranty
period VR&F will undertake replacement of defective parts free of charge provided that the
failure was not caused by misuse, accident or negligence. Your statutory rights within the
territory in which you purchased the equipment are not affected by this warranty.
VR&F carries out regular review and reserves the right to adjust the specification and
performance from time to time.
PACKING LIST AND UNPACKING THE EQUIPMENT

Consult the dealer from whom you purchased the equipment if any item is not present.
Carefully unpack all the units and accessories. Take care not to damage the surface finish
undoing the protective polythene sleeve. Retain the packaging materials for future use.
Retain the user manual and information concerning the date and place of purchase of your
equipment for future reference.
If you transfer any unit to a third party please pass on this instruction manual along with the
equipment.
PLACEMENT
When installed in a domestic system at the base of a Rendez-vous player vertical equipment
stack the Rendez-vous player will operate perfectly satisfactorily provided there is sufficient
ventilation.
If you are likely to use the amplifier/s for extended periods at extremely high volume levels,
it may be advisable to install the units side by side in free air.

INSTALLATION
Before making any connections to your high fidelity equipment make sure that all units in the system
are switched off and unplugged at the mains.
Mains Connections
Before connecting your Rendez-vous player to the AC mains supply check that the voltage marked on
the back of adaptor matches the voltage of your supply.
The Main On/Off switch is on the rear panel. After the Rendez-vous player is fully connected to an
amplifier turn on the switch.
Signal Input Connection
If you are connecting the Rendez-vous player to your amplifier we recommend that you use Balanced
XLR connections. If it would not be available to use XLR cables on your amplifier you can connect the
Rendez-vous player to unbalanced RCA connections.
If you are connecting to equipment with single ended RCA phono outputs and you wish to use the
balanced XLR input: use a manufactured RCA/XLR adapter cable. If you cannot obtain such a cable,
consult your dealer or have one professionally made up.

Internet Connection
If you are connecting the Rendez-vous player to internet we recommend that you use ethernet cable
(LAN) for better sound. Meanwhile, you may also connect the Rendez-vous player via WiFi connection.
If you are connecting the Rendez-vous player to internet via WiFi, please refer to the Installation
and Application Download described on page 11.
TV or Monitor Connection
You can connect the Rendez-vous player to TV or Monitor via HDMI cable.
If you can connect the Rendez-vous player to TV or monitor you can use your equipment very
conveniently. You may also use the Rendez-vous player without TV or Monitor connection.
External Storage Connections
You can connect external storage (external hard disk, USB memory) to the Rendez-vous player via USB
port. It will be operated based on plug and play. Also, you can use micro SD card via micro SD slot. If
you want to use your micro SD card, put it into the slot and then it will be operated plug and play basis.

Network Attached Storage (NAS) Connection
You can connect Network Attached Storage (NAS) to the Rendez-vous player through your own router
(Access Point). Refer to Installation and Application Download described on this page.
Earphone / Headphone output
- Open the Sound Device Manager (SETTINGS → SERVER SETTINGS → Sound Device Manager(on mobile APP),
SETTINGS → Sound → Sound Device Manager(on device)) and select 'Variable volume” to adjust the volume.
- Plug the earphones / Headphones.
- Adjust the playback level with the volume knob.
- Using headphones do not disable the audio output. The sound will be also heard from amplifier or speaker.
- You should switch your amplifier off for private listening.
INSTALLATION and APPLICATION DOWNLOAD
-Your Rendez-vous must be connected to the Internet via ethernet cable (LAN) or WIFI before
use. The Rendez-vous player can be controlled by an IOS or Android device.
1) LAN[Ethernet]
1-1) iOS / Android
Download the Rendez-vous client application from Apple App store or Google Play.
Search for “RDV Link”. Tap the “Install” button to download and install. Once installed,
you will see this icon on your device.
Tap the icon to start the application.

Initial screen page after downloading Rendez-vous client app is as below.

1-2) Connect the LAN (ethernet) cable from your router to the Rendez-vous player.
1-3) Power on the Rendez-vous player. Wait until the player finishes booting up and
you will see the clock on LCD screen and main screen on monitor or TV screen.
Connect the Rendez-vous player to the Internet as on the above diagram.
1-4) Your mobile device should be connected to the same network as set on the
Rendez-vous player.
1-5) Start the App on the tablet, tap SETTINGS to check the Auto-detected IP.
Please select the same IP address that belongs to the corresponding
rendez-vous player.

2)Direct Mode (Hotspot)
This Direct Mode is available only for downloaded data playback, not available for streaming
services, internet radio and NAS.
2-1) iOS / Android
Download the Rendez-vous client application from Apple App store or Google Play.
Search for “RDV Link”. Tap the “Install” button to download and install. Once installed,
you will see this icon on your device. Tap the icon to start the application. Initial
screen page after downloading Rendez-vous client app is the same as the above 1-1) on
page 9.
2-2) Power on the Rendez-vous player. Wait until the player finishes booting up and
you will see the clock on LCD screen and main screen on TV screen.
2-3) Go to ‘Tethering & Hotspot” on TV screen menu on Rendez-vous player.
(Settings -> Tethering & Hotspot) Turn the ‘Portable Wi-Fi hotspot” menu ON.
2-4) In the WiFi menu on your mobile device (tablet or mobile phone), select the
following SSID : VRF-AP- xxxxxx and type password 00000000.
2-5) Go to the SETTINGS on your mobile device and check Auto detected IP. Then
click.
INTERNET ACCESS
The access to the internet is available via LAN [ethernet] and [Wi-Fi].
For better audio quality a LAN [Ethernet] connection is recommended.
Once you enter the password, the controlling device is paired with the player, and you
will see the initial screen. If it would not be automatically connected, please enter IP
address manually: 192.168.43.1

After the reboot has completed, tap the red-lined square button on main screen.

When the next screen appears,
Tap the red-lined round button
Tap OK(Center) button
After rebooting is completed, tap the red-lined square button on LCD screen.

Tap the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup ) icon on the next screen. Press the WPS icon .
Then follow the instructions described on LCD screen.
WPS started...
Press WPS button on router
After successfully pairing the player with the router, the following message will be displayed:
Press WPS button on your router.
WPS succeed.
Connecting to the network...
After a successful connection to the Internet the following message will be displayed:
Connected to Wi-Fi network
.
“user network name’.
And after 3 seconds, the screen will be back to main screen on LCD.
Then, connect the same WiFi network on your mobile device.

The Change of Connecting Method from LAN[Ethernet] to[WiFi]
- Connection with Micro SD Card, USB Memory and External Hard Disc
You can use Micro SD Card, USB Memory and External Hard Disc connect with Rendez-vous Player.
It will be operated as Plug and Play.
-Connection with NAS(Network Attached Storage)
Connect the Player to the internet and NAS as on above diagram
Boot up your Player as LAN connection procedure as above.

Instruction
To access the server settings, tap the SETTINGS on the initial main screen.
Press the POWER icon to control the power of the Rendezvous player ON / OFF.
•Sound Device Manager:
You can use either the HDMI or rendez-vous AUDIO (Analog output). But only the
rendez-vous AUDIO should be used for superior Hi-Fi playback. When you change the
settings, the music playback will be paused.
•Set Volume Type
When you set as ‘Variable Volume’, use the volume knob to increase or decrease the level.
When ‘Fixed Volume’ is set, the level is set at its maximum.
•MQA Setting Manager
If the MQA decoder is enabled, the MQA, FLAC and MP3 files will be upsampled to
352.8kHz or 384kHz. Playback will be paused when you change the settings.
•Factory data reset for the Rendez-vous Device’s
All data of Rendez-vous device will be factory reset.
•Date & time for the Rendez-vous Device’s
Set the date and time of the Rendez-vous device.
•Manually check the server for new software
- Rendez-vous software updates will be supported when new software is available.

Main screen of Rendez-vous player
Instruction
To use high quality streaming services or the internet radio, ensure that the player is
connected to the internet.
Streaming services: Log in with your credentials to access the services.
If you want to use a NAS, it should be connected to same network as set on Rendez-vous
player.
This device supports high resolution Bit perfect playback.
Remote Control Unit (RCU)
If you use the Rendez-vous player with a TV, we recommend you download ‘rcu for
rendez-vous’ application from Google Play. Use your mobile device as a remote control.
Your mobile device should be connected to the same WiFi network or Hotspot as set on
Rendez-vous player.

❖Tablet Screen
1. Connect Rendez-vous player to your Tablet
1.1 If you connect tablet via Hotspot or via same WiFi network to Rendez-vous player,
you can operate RCU app and screen will be displayed as follows. The RCU and player
will be automatically connected and device button color will be changed in blue.
1.2 In case of the Rendez-vous player and tablet are not connected,
device key color will be in grey.

When you tap the device button, the screen will be changed as below.
And you tap the [rendezvousTouch], your tablet will be automatically connected to player.
If you fail to connect the tablet with Rendez-vous player, please press device key in order to
press Refresh button. Then, you will see available device that can be connected automatically.
1.3 You can use Touch Pad and remote controller function using installed application.
Yellow lined is Touch Pad and Red lined is Remote Controller.
It shows Rendez-vous units that can be
automatically connected.

1.4 You can use special function that is related to hardware on option Menu.
☞ Power ON/OFF ➔ You can change the mode Power On to Standby and vice versa.
☞ HDMI Input ➔ When you tap this button, the video signal from the device connected
to the HDMI Input will be bypassed to HDMI output.
☞ Version INFO ➔ Tap this button, you can see the version of remote control app.
❖Smart Phone Screen
1. Download the Rendez-vous RCU application from Google Play.
*Search ‘rcu for rendez-vous’
2. Same as tablet, your smart phone will be connected automatically on
Hotspot mode. When you connect the same Wi-Fi network to Rendez-
vous player, press device button and you can choose your device.
