■Controller ( V-VUC 350)

①Power switch: Controller power switch.
②LCD: Displays Anode Voltage and VUV lamp operation time.
③Push Button: This button is for changing the LCD display status and
resetting the operation time.
④Power LED(Green): Green light comes on when the controller is turned on
⑤LAMP LED(Blue): Blue light comes on when VUV lamp is turned on
⑥LAMP FAIL LED(Red): Red light comes on when VUV lamp fails
⑦OVERTIME LED(Yellow): When VUV discharge voltage is less than 60V,
or operation hour is 2,000 hours or more, yellow light comes on.
⑧SHUTTER(Yellow) : Not used any more. (Previous shutter function)
⑨SHUTTER FAIL(Red) : Not used any more. (Previous shutter function)

⑩Signal Output Connector : This connector is used when connecting to
an external device.
⑪Ground Terminal : Controller ground bolt
⑫Cooling FAN : Fan cooling the inside of controller
⑬VUV Connector : Connects VUV head with 10pin connector cable.

2. Installation and Operation
■VUV installation
①Install the VUV head in desired position by fixing the screws of the
installation flange.
②Install the controller at a place accessible to users, and connect the power
and ground cable.
③Connect VUV head to the controller by using provided connecting cables.

■How to use the controller (Operating VUV head after activating the
controller)
①Before turning on the power switch, connect the VUV head to the controller by
using a connecting cable. (Output cable)
②Turn on the power switch of the controller located on the front.
③If the controller is turned on, the front Power LED(green) light comes on.
④[VUV ON] VUV head is preheated for about 30 seconds after turning on.
At this time, the lamp is not turned on, so “Uvoff” message appears on the
display window of controller.
(To turn on VUV during remote operation, open SIGNAL IN/OUT pins 1 and 3 on the rear of the
controller.)
⑤After VUV preheating is finished, the VUV head is turned on and LED(blue) light
comes on.
(Anode Voltage is displayed on the basic screen, and it is displayed in voltage units on the LCD.
If it is 76V, LCD status is displayed as “0076v”)

⑥[VUV OFF] Turn off the power switch of the controller located on the front
(To turn off VUV during remote operation, close pins 1 and 2 of the SIGNAL IN/OUT terminals on the rear of
the controller.)

■How to check the operation time
①After turning on the controller , press the Select/Time Reset button once.
②Controller LCD display shows operation time. The unit of numbers is time.
▷Basically LCD display shows default Anode Voltage, and other options can be shown on LCD
display when the user presses Select switch.
After changing the option and LCD display shows Life Time of product, it will show Anode Voltage
again in 10 seconds.

■When OVERTIME occurs
The OVERTIME LED LAMP comes on when VUV head reaches its expected lifetime
⬧OVERTIME LED alarm light is turned on :

1When the Anode Voltage is under 60V

2When operation hours of VUV head is 2,000 hours or above
▷How to reset the operation time when changing into a new VUV tube (head)
Press Select / Time Reset switch for about 10 seconds to reset the operation time
Please be noted that the operation time should be reset after changing into a new VUV
tube (head).
■When LAMP FAIL occurs
When VUV head fails to operate, Fail LED lamp is turned on.
➔LAMP FAIL LED light is turned on :
①When the VUV head fails to operate.
“Err01”message appears on controller’s display and LAMP FAIL LED light
comes on
②When VUV Head is overheated after excessive operation
“Err02” message appears on controller’s display and LAMP FAIL LED light comes on

■Communication setting protocol
➔Displayed messages after turning on VUV controller
*[ ] : Actual message that appears on LCD display of VUV controller
①Firmware version information : [ 1-315 ] →Indicates that firmware version is V3.1.5
②RS-485 communication protocol address information : [ Adr01 ] →Controller
communication protocol address is set as Adr01.
③Loading time until VUV head is turned on by remote control : [ 2-000 ] →0 Turned
on immediately without delay
(This number indicates the loading time. If this number is 1 or above, VUV head is set to
turned on after certain second.)
④Running time of VUV head : [ 3-010 ] →Indicates that VUV head is set to run for
10 seconds at a time.
⑤Time extension option of VUV head when it receives remote during operation
[4-off ] →In case of off, it doesn’t extend the head running time
(In case of ON, time is extended.)
⑥Remote mode select : [5-off] →Operates VUV head by certain time ON and Off
(In case of ON, it can be operated with remote control (Close -> ON, Open -> OFF)
➔How to change VUV communication protocol
After pressing select switch, controller’s LCD display starts counting from SET01-
>SET02->SET03. Take the finger off from the switch when it is SET03 or above to go
into protocol setting menu.
Once going into the menu, press select switch to ,move within the following options.
①[1-adr] : Adress setting menu for RS-485 protocol
②[2-ond] : Setting loading time of VUV head for remote control
③[3-ont] : Menu to set time to turn on VUV head
④[4-onr] : Menu to extend running time of VUV head in case of remote control
⑤[5-rof] : Remote mode setting menu

Once selecting the menu press select switch for 3 ~4 seconds to save the settings.
➔Menu tree for setting
①[1-adr] →[Adr01] ~ [Adr15] (Can set the address from 1~15)
②[2-ond] →[2-000] ~ [2-020] (Can set loading time from 0 ~ 20 sec)
③[3-ont] →[3-001] ~ [3-060] (Can set VUV head running time from 1 ~ 60 sec)
④[4-onr] →[4- on] , [ 4-off ] (Can reset loading time for remote signal On or Off)
⑤[5-rof] →[5- off] : Can set the loading and running time of VUV head
[5- on] : Operates only with remote control ignoring the setting time

1) VUV LAMP ON/OFF operation signal input
▷VUV LAMP ON (When pin 5 is ON)
When D-SUB pin 1 and 2 are closed, VUV Lamp is turned on.
▷VUV LAMP OFF
When D-SUB pin 1 and 2 are open, VUV Lamp is turned on off.
VUV head is turned on after 25 seconds of preheating time.
After turning on, VUV head is turned on & off based on 10 seconds interval.

■Signal Input / Output operation example
- Example of operating relay input & LED input
※Input 1,2,3,4 terminals should be used with relay output. If external power is
applied, internal parts might be damaged.
※Output voltage/current can stand maximum 60V/100mA. So user should
consider this maximum capacity when operating. If the device is used with
external devices like as LED, photo coupler, TTL semi-conductor, etc, make sure to
check the operation current and use it with protective resistor.
