INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech®Peek-A-Boo Book™!
The VTech®Peek-A-Boo Book™ is an interactive storybook for toddlers
aged 3 months and up. This book will come to life with lights, sounds
and music as well as a variety of buttons to push and slide. Baby can
choose from six nursery rhymes. Each nursery rhyme is accompanied
by a melody and sound effect relating to the nursery rhyme.

GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the spine of
the book. Use a screwdriver to loosen
the screw.
3. Install 2 new “AAA” (AM-4/LR03)
batteries following the diagram inside
the battery box. (The use of new
alkaline batteries is recommended for
maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten
the screw to secure.
BATTERY NOTICE
• The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum
performance;
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged;
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before
being charged (if removable);
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult
supervision (if removable);
• Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to
be mixed;
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended
are to be used;
• Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity;
• Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy;
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
• The toy is not to be connected to more than recommended number
of power supplies.

• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

PRODUCT FEATURES
1. ON/OFF
To turn the unit ON, press the PRINCESS
BUTTON on the front cover or open the
book to any page. To turn the unit OFF,
simply close the book.
2. VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
To adjust the volume, slide the VOLUME
CONTROL SWITCH t o t h e L O W
VOLUME ( ) or the HIGH VOLUME
( ) position.
3. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the Peek-A-Boo
Book™ will automatically power-down
after several minutes without input. The
book can be turned on again by turning
the pages, or pressing any button.
4. SIX NURSERY RHYMES
The six nursery rhymes include
- Hey, Diddle, Diddle
- Humpty Dumpty
- Hickory, Dickory, Dock
- Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Turn the pages or press or move the buttons to hear the nursery
rhymes.
ACTIVITIES
1. When the book is closed, press the
PRINCESS BUTTON to hear a random
story and melody. Press the button again
while the story is playing to hear a sound
effect play over the story. The happy face
light will flash along with the music.
2. When the book is open, turn the pages or
slide or move the buttons to hear the story
and melody relating to the two pages
facing you. Slide or move the button again
while the story is playing to hear a sound
effect play over the story. The happy face
will flash with the music.
3. Slide or move the button again after the
story has been told, and you will hear
the melody of that nursery rhyme. Slide
or move the button while the melody is
playing, and the sound effect will play
along with the melody.
4. If there is no input to the book after
approximately 8 seconds, you will hear a
phrase or sound effect encouraging you
to continue playing with the book.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat
source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended
period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit
to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow
these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
If the problem persists, please call our Consumer Services Department
