Wahoo Fitness RPM SPEED Manual

Setup
This setup guide is intended to assist with installing your Wahoo RPM SPEED sensor on your
bike and pairing to the Wahoo Fitness app.
How to install the Wahoo RPM SPEED on your bike:
1. Slide the Wahoo RPM SPEED pod into the mount supplied. Make sure the Wahoo logo
is facing outwards on the flush side of the housing and the back of the Wahoo RPM
SPEED faces toward the hook side of the mount. The hooks should be facing downward.
2. Slide the rubber shim-strap into the back (the hooked) side of the mount so that the three
prongs of the strap fit snugly up against the top two hooks of the housing. The Wahoo
RPM SPEED is now ready to fit to the hub of either wheel as per your preference.
3. While holding the mount in place on your selected hub, gently stretch the strap portion of
the rubber shim-strap around the hub and secure using the bottom two hooks on the
mount. When installed correctly, the Wahoo RPM SPEED should not be in contact with
any other parts of your bike.
Your Wahoo RPM SPEED is now ready to be paired with the Wahoo Fitness app.
How to Pair your Wahoo RPM SPEED Sensor to the Wahoo
Fitness app (iOS):
1. Download the Wahoo Fitness app from the App Store.
2. Open the Wahoo Fitness app. Make sure you have Bluetooth turned on.
3. Activate the Wahoo RPM SPEED by shaking it for a few seconds or if attached to your
bike, spin the wheel a few times.
4. Select “Sensors” in the bottom left corner.
5. Select “Add New Sensor”.
6. Choose your Wahoo RPM SPEED from the list of available sensors.*
7. Once certain you are connected to the correct sensor, select “Save Sensor”.
8. Choose the workout profiles you would like your Wahoo RPM SPEED to be active for
(ex. Cycling & Indoor Bike Trainer).
9. Select “Done” to complete the pairing & workout selection process.
10. Select “Done” in the top left hand corner to exit the Sensors menu.
How to Pair your Wahoo RPM SPEED Sensor to the Wahoo
Fitness app (Android):
1. Download the Wahoo Fitness app from the Google Play Store.
2. Open the Wahoo Fitness app. Make sure you have Bluetooth turned on.
3. Activate the Wahoo RPM SPEED by shaking it for a few seconds or if attached to your
bike, spin the wheel a few times.

4. Select “Saved Devices” icon on the top action bar.
5. Select the plus “+” icon to add a new sensor.
6. Choose your Wahoo RPM SPEED from the list of available sensors.
7. Once certain you are connected to the correct sensor, select “Save Device”.
8. Choose the workout profiles you would like your Wahoo RPM SPEED to be active for
(ex. Cycling & Indoor Bike Trainer).
9. Select “Ok” to complete the pairing & workout selection process.
10. Use the Back button to exit the menus and return to the Home Screen.
Your Wahoo RPM SPEED is now set up and ready for action. To use your Wahoo RPM SPEED,
start a workout with one of the profiles you paired it with. The Wahoo Fitness app will remember
this pairing in the future. You simply need to wake up your sensor and start a new workout to
begin recording data!
NOTE: The Wahoo RPM SPEED uses a Blue LED to give instant feedback to the user during
the pairing process. These LEDs operate for about 30 seconds before shutting off to conserve
battery. The Blue LED represents your connection state and has three modes:
Slow Blink (about once every second): Wahoo RPM SPEED is awake and not paired.
4x Flash: Occurs the instant a connection is made.
Quick Blink (about twice every second): Wahoo RPM SPEED is paired to a device.
The Red LED represents wheel revolutions. You will see one red blink per wheel turn.
* If a firmware update is available for your sensor, the Wahoo Fitness app will now prompt you
to proceed with performing an update. If you do not, the update may be performed later. Sensors
with updates available will appear in the menu of Saved Sensors marked with a badge to indicate
the update is available but not installed.
Workout Basics
Starting a Workout (iOS):
1. Make sure the device has Bluetooth turned on so it can communicate with your Wahoo
RPM SPEED.
2. Select what kind of workout you wish to do from the list of workout types using the
slider.
3. Select if you wish to have Audio Announcements turned on or off.
4. Activate the Wahoo RPM SPEED by shaking it for a few seconds or if attached to your
bike, spin the wheel a few times.
5. Make sure the Wahoo RPM SPEED is synced to your device. It will appear in the list of
Linked Sensors for that workout profile with an indication of signal strength shown on
the far right when it is connected to your device.
6. Select the green “Start” button to begin the workout. Information gathered from your
Wahoo RPM SPEED will now start to be displayed on your device.

ENDING YOUR WORKOUT (iOS):
1. To end your workout, simply select the red “Pause” button.
2. Select the red “Stop” button and either a) Discard Workout b) Save Workout or c) Return
to Workout.
3. If you elect to finish the workout, the Wahoo Fitness app will now display a summary of
your workout.
Starting a Workout (Android):
1. Make sure the device has Bluetooth turned on so it can communicate with your Wahoo
RPM SPEED.
2. Select what kind of workout you wish to do from the list of workout types using the
slider.
3. Use the Pencil icon to make changes to your workout if required. e.g. Select to edit the
Audio Announcements.
4. Select the green “Play” button to open a new workout.
5. Activate the Wahoo RPM SPEED by shaking it for a few seconds or if attached to your
bike, spin the wheel a few times.
6. Make sure the Wahoo RPM SPEED is synced to your device. It will appear in the list of
Linked Sensors for that workout profile with an indication of signal strength shown on
the far right when it is connected to your device (button located in the top right corner).
7. Select the green “Start” button to begin the workout. Information gathered from your
Wahoo RPM SPEED will now start to be displayed on your device.
NOTE: If a firmware update is available for your sensor, the Wahoo Fitness app will now
prompt you to proceed with performing an update using the Wahoo Utility app. Apply updates
when available to improve the performance of your sensor. The free Wahoo Utility app is
required to perform firmware updates and is available from the Google Play Store.
ENDING YOUR WORKOUT (Android):
1. To end your workout, simply select the red “Pause” button.
2. Select the red “Stop” button and either a) Discard b) Save or c) Cancel.
3. If you elect to save & finish the workout, the Wahoo Fitness app will now display a
summary of your workout.

WANT TO CONNECT TO ANOTHER APP?
This product is compatible with a number of third party apps. However, each app connects to
sensors a little differently. As a general rule: Open the compatible app you would like to use and

find the settings. Look for "connect to sensor" or another similar option. You must connect each
sensor separately for each app you use.
NOTE: Bluetooth devices can only pair to one app at a time. Make sure to close any background
apps that may be using the sensor before connecting to a new app.
Setup
This setup guide is intended to assist with installing your Wahoo RPM Cadence sensor on your
bike or shoe and pairing to the Wahoo Fitness app.
How to install the Wahoo RPM Cadence on your bike:
Using the Silicone Mount:
1. Slide the Wahoo RPM Cadence pod into the silicone mount. Make sure the silicone
covers the Wahoo logo and the opening is on the back of the Wahoo RPM Cadence.
2. Thread one zip-tie through the slot on each side of the silicone mount.
3. Place the Wahoo RPM Cadence on the inside of the non-drive side crank arm. Spin the
crank around to make sure the Wahoo RPM Cadence does not interfere with the chain
stay on your bike.
4. Slide the zip-ties through, tighten them down, and trim the excess part of the zip-tie.
Using the double-sided 3M tape:
1. Make sure the Wahoo RPM Cadence and the inside of the non-drive side crank arm are
clean.
2. Peel off the backing to expose one side of the tape and stick it on the back side of the
Wahoo RPM Cadence. Then remove the other side of the tape and stick the Wahoo RPM
Cadence to the inside of the non-drive side crank arm.
3. Spin the crank arm to make sure the Wahoo RPM Cadence does not interfere with the
chain stay on your bike.
How to install the Wahoo RPM Cadence using the Shoe Clip
Mount:
1. Take the clip provided and lock in the Wahoo RPM Cadence by sliding it in horizontally
and then twisting it vertically into place.
2. Place on your shoe by threading the velcro strap from your shoe (or similar) through the
space in the back of the clip.

3. Make sure the sensor is attached to your shoe vertically with either the "w" or "o"
pointing toward the toe of the shoe. If it is horizontal with all letters facing the toe of the
shoe, it will not be able to capture data.
How to Pair your Wahoo RPM Cadence Sensor to the
Wahoo Fitness app (iOS):
1. Download the Wahoo Fitness app from the App Store.
2. Open the Wahoo Fitness app. Make sure you have Bluetooth turned on.
3. Activate the Wahoo RPM Cadence by shaking it for a few seconds or if attached to your
bike, spin the crank a few times.
4. Select “Sensors” in the bottom left corner.
5. Select “Add New Sensor”.
6. Choose your Wahoo RPM Cadence from the list of available sensors.*
7. Once certain you are connected to the correct sensor, select “Save Sensor”.
8. Choose the workout profiles you would like your Wahoo RPM Cadence to be active for
(ex. Cycling & Indoor Bike Trainer).
9. Select “Done” to complete the pairing & workout selection process.

Your Wahoo RPM Cadence is now set up and ready for action. To use your Wahoo RPM
Cadence, start a workout with one of the profiles you paired it with. The Wahoo Fitness app will
remember this pairing in the future. You simply need to wake up your sensor and start a new
workout to begin recording data!
