nIntroduction
The SafetyPips isacontinuous wriststrap monitor. The person wearingthe wristband is
grounded andcheckedpermanentlybyameasurementofresistanceand body capacity.
When measuring the inputresistance ofthe instrumenttoground,please use avoltage above
15 Volt because ofthe 12Volt protection zener diodes fittedintheinstrument.
nInstallation
1.Fixthe SafetyPips attheworkplace wherethe twosignalLED'scan beseen.
2.Open the lidforthescrewclamp.
3.Connectterminal2 toasuitablegrounding point.
Atdeliverythereisadirectconnectionfromterminal1(B)to2 and noconductive fixtures
orthe grounding aremonitored.
Ifgroundedconductivefixturesshall bemonitored,connectthemtoterminal1(B)and
removethedirect connection betweenterminal1(B) and2 .
Tomonitorthe groundingoftheunit(instead ofconductive fixtures)connectan additional
earthwiretoterminal1(B)and toasecondsuitablegrounding point.andremove the direct
connection between terminal1(B) and2 .
4.Connectthe powersupplytoterminal3and 4.
5.External monitoring logiccan beconnected tothesignalcontactterminal5and 6.
6.Connectthe powersupplytothemains voltage.
nOperation
Putonthewriststrapandconnectthe coil cordsnap totheSafetyPipsfrontconnector.The
instrumentispermanentlyswitchedon.
The SafetyPips monitorstheconnecting cordsand the contactbetween the wriststrap and
the humanskinby testingpermanentlyifthe resistance and the bodycapacityofthe person
wearing thewriststrap iswithinthespecified range.
