Diverter Valve may be smaller than your kitchen faucet.
In this case use the adapter with internal threads and
thread it directly to your kitchen faucet. Next, thread
the Diverter Valve to the Adapter.
7. If your kitchen faucet has internal threads, thread
one of the two Adapters with external threads directly

There is a presence of calcium carbonate in
your main water supply. This condition will
occur any time the ltered water is boiled or
frozen and then melts.
This condition is normal – no action is
required. However, you may choose to strain
the white sediment.
Minerals such as calcium and magnesium
that are present in your water supply and
collect in the center of ice cubes when water
is frozen. Your System is designed specically
to leave benecial trace minerals in your water.
No action is required
The Cartridge is reaching the end of its rated
capacity and will need to be replaced soon.
Purchase a new WaterChef® NSF certied
Replacement Cartridge (CR70). For the
location of the reseller nearest you, call
WaterChef Customer Care (toll-free) at
, or you may order online
from www.waterchef.com. Once the RED

the used Cartridge and Battery.
There could be a lack of lubricant on the
shaft of the Diverter Valve.
Remove the Diverter Valve from the kitchen
faucet. Press petroleum jelly into the opening
on the Diverter Valve. Work the Diverter Pin
in and out until a smooth motion is restored.
Hard water (water with high content of
dissolved minerals) has caused a build up
in the Diverter Valve.
Soak Diverter Valve in vinegar for several
hours to remove build-up. Then rinse
Diverter Valve with warm water. Press
petroleum jelly into opening on the Diverter
Valve and work the Diverter Pin in and out
until a smooth action is restored. Replace
rubber washer and re-connect the Diverter
Valve to the kitchen faucet.
Excessive amounts of particles in the water
supply may have caused pre-mature plugging
of the Cartridge. This condition may occur
before the RED Lamp begins to ash.
The Cartridge must be replaced due to poor
water quality conditions in your area.
Battery must also be replaced at time
of Cartridge replacement. (Replacement
Cartridge (CR70) includes new Battery.)
