Surge Protection
This product features built-in surge protection circuitry in compliance with
applicable standards.
For comprehensive protection of a luminaire installation against lightning and
electrical surges, it is essential to cover mains supply and data input lines at
the distribution board level, by using respective primary (Type 1) and secondary
(Type 2) surge arrestors in compliance with EN61643-11/IEC61643-1.
Warning
Ensure that all required surge protection measures are in place and activated
prior to luminaire installation. Also, disconnect luminaires before operating
high-power devices such as, for example, electrical arc welders.

Maintenance
Apart from cleaning the product’s exterior surfaces, no special maintenance work is required. Do not use high-
pressure cleaners.
In case of component failure due to abnormal circumstances or at end of life, replacement must be carried out

Warning: Do not open luminaire while mains supply is switched on.

Installation
The product must be installed and maintained by a
VXLWDEO\TXDOLƂHGSURIHVVLRQDOLQFRPSOLDQFHZLWKODWHVW
building/construction and/or electrical regulations and
relevant legislation.
Warning: Switch off mains electrical supply prior to
installing and connecting the luminaire.
Notice:,IWKHOXPLQDLUHLVPRGLƂHGE\DQ\ERG\RWKHU
than the original manufacturer, then the warranty will
no longer be valid and shall become the full respon-
sibility of the modifying person/organisation. Claims
based on defects attributable to improper installation
and/or application, and the consequences thereof, are
excluded.
Attention: The luminaire is factory-sealed and does
not need to be opened during installation.
Product Information/Surge Protection
Some luminairesDUHDOUHDG\ƂWWHGZLWKDIDFWRU\LQ-
stalled surge protector of Type 2-3, or it can be ordered
as an option. The technical data can be found directly
on the device. If the surge protector has been triggered
by an adverse event, the luminaire is automatically
disconnected from the mains. In that case, the LED on
the surge protector no longer lights up.
For comprehensive protection of the luminaire against
lightning and electrical surges, primary (Type 1) and
secondary (Type 2) surge arrestors must be installed
into the power supply. We recommend a combination
arrestor (Type 1+2+3), which is installed in the control
cabinet.
The technical planner/installer is responsible for the
proper selection, sizing and installation of the surge
protection modules that must be provided on site.
Please note the various protection levels for Class I
and II, as well as the applicable statutory provisions
regarding surge protection. Installation and mainte-

Installation Procedure
1) Switch off mains electrical supply.
2) Carefully remove luminaire head Bfrom mounting
ƃDQJHAby loosening screws C. Do not touch
LEDs M.
3) Check that rating shown on luminaire label con-
forms with mains electrical supply.
'HWHUPLQHSRVLWLRQVIRUƂ[LQJVFUHZVD. Drill
relevant holes Eand insert heavy duty wall plugs F.
Warning: Make sure not to damage any electric
cable, water pipe or other devices while drilling
holes.
5) Feed mains supply cable G(and second cable H
for through wiring, if required) through grommet(s)
IZKLOHVHWWLQJPRXQWLQJƃDQJHAin position. To
Ƃ[PRXQWLQJƃDQJHSLHUFHWKURXJKQ\ORQSOXJVJ,
insert and tighten screws D.
Attention: Nylon plugs Jmust remain in position to
provide sealing.
6) Connect mains supply leads to respective terminals
in terminal block K:
a) ON/OFF (L = Phase, N = Neutral, = Earthing).
b) 1-10V/DALI (L = Phase, N = Neutral, = Earth-
ing, DA/DA = DALI control line, D-/D+ = 1-10V
control line).
7) Ensure that all surfaces are clean and dry. Reposi-
tion luminaire head Bcarefully, while ensuring
alignment of male and female locators. Tighten
screws C in a criss-cross sequence for proper gas-
ket compression. Pay particular attention to equal
tightness.
