FUNCTIONS AND CONTROLS
Weatherband/AM/FM Flashlight & Lantern
FCC Warnings
Warning: Changes or modications to this unit not expressly
approved by the party responsible for compliance could void
the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply
with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part
15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide
reasonable protection against harmful interference in a
residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and
can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and
used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. However, there is
no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference
to radio or television reception, which can be determined by
turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to
try to correct the interference by one or more of the following
measures:
• Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
• Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different
from that to which the receiver is connected.
• Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician
for help.

• WARNING: To reduce the risk of re or electric shock,
do not expose this apparatus to rain, moisture, dripping,
or splashing.
• CAUTION: Use of controls or adjustments or performance
of procedures other than those specied may result in
hazardous radiation exposure.
• WARNING: Changes or modications to this unit not
expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance
could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment.
• WARNING: Do not place this unit directly onto furniture
surfaces with any type of soft, porous, or sensitive nish.
As with any rubber compound made with oils, the feet
could cause marks or staining where the feet reside. We
recommend using a protective barrier such as a cloth or a
piece of glass between the unit and the surface to reduce the
risk of damage and/or staining.
• CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly
replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
• WARNING: There is a danger of explosion if you attempt
to charge standard Alkaline batteries in the unit. Only use
rechargeable NiMH batteries.
• WARNING: The remote control’s button cell battery
contains mercury. Do not put in the trash, instead recycle or
dispose of as hazardous waste
• WARNING: Shock hazard - Do Not Open.
• Caution and marking information is located at the rear or
bottom of the apparatus.
• Objects lled with liquids, such as vases, shall not be placed
on the apparatus.
• Mains plug is used as disconnect device and it should
remain readily operable during intended use. In order to
disconnect the apparatus from the mains completely, the
mains plug should be disconnected form the mains socket
outlet completely.
• Battery shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as
sunshine, re or the like.
• Keep new and used batteries away from children. If the
battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the
product and keep it away from children.
• If you think batteries might have been swallowed or
placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical
attention.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Completely replace all old batteries with new ones.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable
(ni-cad, ni-mh, etc) batteries.
• Batteries should be recycled or disposed of as per state and
local guidelines.
• WARNING: Lithium batteries, like all rechargeable
batteries, are recyclable and should be recycled or disposed
of according to state and local guidelines. They should
never be disposed of in normal household waste, and they
should never be incinerated, as they might explode. Contact
your local government for disposal or recycling practices
in your area.
• WARNING: This product may contain chemicals known
to the State of California to cause birth defects, or other
reproductive harm (California Prop 65). Wash hands
after handling.
• This product meets and complies with all Federal
regulations.

The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the
user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing)
instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

hazardous mains voltage and user accessible parts.
The lightning ash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is
intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage”
within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufcient magnitude to
constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

Playing the AM/FM Radio
1. Adjust FM/AM/WB switch to the AM or FM position.
2. Turn the Volume dial to turn on the radio and adjust to the desired volume.
3. Adjust the Tuning dial to tune the radio.
4. An AM antenna is built into the unit. To improve AM radio reception, adjust the position of the unit.

Playing Weatherband Radio
1. Adjust FM/AM/WB switch to the WB position.
2. Turn the Volume dial to turn on the radio and adjust to the desired volume.
3. Adjust the Tuning dial to tune one of the indicated weatherband frequencies.
4. For a list of which areas receive which frequency, visit http://www.weather.gov/nwr/nwrbro.htm.
Dynamo Hand Crank
1. Make sure both the radio and the ashlight are turned to the O position.
2. Pull out the Dynamo Hand-Crank.
3. Turn the cranking handle at a speed of approximately 2 turns per second.
4. The internal battery will now charge.
NOTE: When using the unit for long periods of time, it is recommended to shut o both the ashlight and radio and
recharge the battery to full capacity before continuing use. To preserve the battery, charge the unit using the
Dynamo Hand-Crank at least once a month.
Turning the handle slower than the recommended speed will result in the battery not receiving a charge.
CHARGING
Using the Audio Input
Requires a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
1. Connect a 3.5mm audio cable to the 3.5mm Audio Input on the unit and the audio output on an MP3 player or other audio device.
2. Use the native controls on the connected MP3 player or other audio source to play your audio through the unit.
3. When not in use, make sure to disconnect the 3.5mm audio cable.
3.5 MM AUDIO INPUT
AC Power
Plug an AC power adapter into the AC Power Input on the unit and a
standard AC power outlet.
NOTE: If you nd the battery does not hold a charge or is dicult to charge by
cranking, charging with an AC adaptor (not included) will help recondition the
internal battery.
