INSTALLATION OF ELECTRONICS
Only a qualified electrician should make electrical connections to the facility’s electrical
circuit. It is important to check if the ground wire is firmly connected to ground and
whether its resistance meets the owner’s requirements.
1. Do not power the machine again before determining what is causing the noise and resolving the
problem.
2. Static electricity can cause problems with electrical equipment and operation, ensure that the
equipment is properly grounded during installation.
3. Ground the machine and test its ground resistance, if resistance is less than 5OHM then it is
acceptable. Any auxiliary equipment should be grounded as well.
4. If static is present in bags, the installation of static eliminator may be required. If this feature is
needed, please contact the company for additional information.
INSTALLATION OF AIR SUPPLY
The Filter Regulator is located on the right hand side of the VERTEK 1200. The VERTEK 1200 operates at
80PSI (5.5BAR)and has an air consumption of 9CFM (0.25M3/MIN.) It is important to ensure that the air
supply of the owner’s facility can meet these specifications. The air supply is designed to connect to a 3/8
NPT air hose.
Do not add any lubrication to the Filter Regulator assembly. They are already pre-lubricated.
To Adjust Air Pressure
1. Pull the knob to release it and adjust
the pressure.
2. If the knob is rotated clockwise, the
inlet pressure will increase, if rotated
counter clockwise it will decrease.
3. Press down on the knob to lock it in
place again once the pressure changes
have been completed.

MECHANICAL ASSEMBLIES
WE RECOMMEND HAVING THE FOLLOWING TOOLS AVAILABLE WHEN MAKING ADJUSTMENTS TO THE MACHINE:
METRIC ALLEN KEYS,METRIC SOCKET SET,METRIC WRENCHES,VOLT METER,SCREW DRIVERS,TAPE MEASURE,RULER,
CALIPER,ADJUSTABLE WRENCHES,AND A GREASE GUN.
FORMER
The circumference of the Former’s tube determines the width of
the bag created from it.
The Former uses tension to shape the film into a tube as it runs
over the Former’s wing. Improper installation of the Former may
cause the film to crumple, result in deformation of the bag’s fin or
poor bag seals.
Film should ride up the back of the Former’s wing and pass into
the narrow opening at the top of the wing so that it may run over
the Former’s tube. The Former’s wing is designed to create the
shape of the bag’s seal.
Use caution when removing or mounting the Former; some
Formers can be much larger and heavier than others, so
caution is required when handling them.
To remove or install a new Former on the Vertek 1200,
follow the instructions that are outlined in this section.

10
July, 2016
REMOVING THE FORMER
To remove the Former, begin by opening the doors to access the interior of the machine.
Remove the quick release pin from the left hand side of the Vertical Sealing Assembly, as shown
in the image above.

11
July, 2016
Swing open the Vertical Sealing Assembly in order to access the Former.
Unscrew the Former’s mounting knobs so that the Former can be removed.

12
July, 2016
Loosen the handle ratchets securing the Pull Belts Assembly, by turning them in the direction
indicated. The knobs on top of the Pull Belts must also be unscrewed to allow the Pull Belts to be
pulled apart.
The bottom of the Pull Belts should rotate open in the same direction as the curved red arrow
shown above; while the top of the Pull Belts slide apart in the direction of the straight blue arrow to
release the Former.

13
July, 2016
Carefully slide the Former out of the machine.
Use caution when removing or mounting the Former. Some Formers may be much larger and
heavier than others, so caution is advised when handling them.

14
July, 2016
INSTALLING THE FORMER
Slide the Former into position: it is important that the back of the Forming Tube is flush against
the back of the channel. The back of the Forming Tube should be in contact with both the
Stopper and the Encoder located behind it. The Stopper supports the Forming Tube when the
Sealing Bar is pressed against it.
Secure the Former in place by screwing in its mounting knobs.

15
July, 2016
Push the Pull Belts together up against the sides of the Former so that they contact the Forming
Tube.
When threading new Film through the machine, it is necessary to pull apart and then push back
together the Pull Belts. The Pull Belts should contact the Film which runs over the Forming Tube.
The Pull Belts are the mechanism by which the Vertek 1200 pulls Film through the machine;
therefore it is necessary to ensure that the Pull Belts grip the Film properly and evenly when they
are brought together.
Tighten the handle ratchets securing the Pull Belts. The knobs on top of the Pull Belts must be
tightened firmly to ensure that the Pull Belts do not move during machine operation.

16
July, 2016
Swing the Vertical Sealing Assembly back to its closed position.
To adjust the Vertical Sealing Assembly’s distance to the Forming Tube, loosen the handle
ratchets on both sides of the Vertical Sealing Assembly.

17
July, 2016
The Vertical Sealing Assembly has a built-in ruler in order to mark the exact location of the
Sealing Bar for reference.
When adjusting the Sealing Bar, it is recommended to leave 3/8” or 10mm from the tip of the
Sealing Bar (when the Sealing Bar’s air cylinder is not extended) to the surface of the Forming
Tube, as per the arrows in the above picture. This distance may require fine adjustment. Tighten
the handle ratchets on either side of the Sealing Bar after adjustments are completed.

18
July, 2016
Reinstall the quick release pin from the left hand side of the Vertical Sealing Assembly and
secure it in place.

19
July, 2016
VERTICAL SEALING ASSEMBLY
The Vertical Sealing Assembly’s Sealing Bar is responsible for the creation of the Bag’s vertical seal.
If the temperature of the Sealing Bar’s Heating Element is too low then the film may not fuse properly,
resulting in an incomplete seal. If the Heating Element’s temperature is too high then it may result in film
adhering to the Sealing Bar.
The Thermocouple measures the temperature of the Sealing Bar. If temperature readings become
irregular, it may be a sign of a damaged or worn out Thermocouple.
