Features of Your Radiant Heater
Handle
Congratulations on the purchase of your new Linda Radiant Heater.
Before using your new heater, it is important that you read and
follow the instructions in this Use and Care booklet, even if you feel that
you are quite familiar with this appliance. Find a place to keep this booklet
handy for future reference. Attention is drawn to section dealing with
‘IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS.’
This appliance has been designed to operate from a standard
domestic power outlet. It is not intended for industrial or commercial use.

Operation
•When operating the heater for the first time or after a period of prolonged storage it is normal for
the heater to emit a burning smell, fumes and a little smoke around the Heating elements and
Ceramic mounting lugs.It requires only a few minutes of “burn in” time for the smell, fumes and
smoke to disappear and this “Burn In” time should ideally be conducted in a well ventilated
area before moving the heater to its intended position for ongoing use.
•Place the heater on a level surface in a stable upright position. Make certain the power switch is
in the “OFF” position.
•Insert the plug into a suitableoutlet.
•Switch on on the heating level “ 400W”, the lower heating tube will be in use, switch
on the first heating level”400W’, the upper heating tube will be in use. Switch on the heating level “800”,
both the lower and upper heating tube will be in use.
•After use, turn off the switch and pull out power cord.
•Allow to cool before putting away.
Note: The heating tube will be red while switching on the heat setting for a moment.

When using electrical appliances, in order to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to

Read all instructions carefully, even if you are quite familiar with the appliance.
•Do not position this heater immediately below a socket outlet.
•This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Let the heater
cool before moving. Keep combustible materials such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes
and curtains at least 50cm from sides of the heater. Do not drape laundry or any other items over the
heater.
•This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory
and mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
orinstruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for the their safety.
•Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
•Always unplug the heater when not in use.
•Do not operate any heater with a damaged power cord or plug, or after the heater malfunctions, has
been dropped or is damaged in any manner.
•Do not use the heater outdoors.
•This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas or similar moist indoor locations. Never
locate the heater where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
•Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
•Do not run the power cord under carpeting or cover the power cord with throw rugs, runners or the
like. Arrange the power cord away from traffic areas and where it will not be tripped over.
•Do not place the power cord over any part of the heater.
•Do not plug this heater into an extension lead, double adapter or power board.
•To disconnect the heater, set controls to OFF then remove the plug from the outlet.
•Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause
an electric shock, fire or could damage the heater.
•This heater has hot electrical parts inside. DO NOT use it in areas where gasoline, paint or flammable
liquids are used or stored.
•Use the heater only as described in this booklet. Any other use not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury to persons.

NOTE: As a result of continual improvements, the design and
specifications of the product within may differ slightly to the unit
illustrated on the packaging.
•Always uncoil the power cord before applying power.
•This product must always be used in the upright position.
•Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer or any other device that switches the heater on
automatically, since a fire risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
•Remove all packaging and check the appliance for any damages during transportation.
•Ensure a power socket is available to power the heater and that the heater is not directly located
under or in front of a power socket.
•Ensure the heater is placed on a level surface with enough clearance from its surroundings.
Warning: Do not place the heater on LONG PILE CARPET OR FLOKATI RUGS. Use a heat board if
necessary.
Warning: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.

If the supply power cord is damaged, the power cord must be replaced by the manufacturer,
its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
This product has not been designed for any uses other than those specified in this booklet.

This appliance is fitted with a safety cut-off device which automatically turns the unit off when it is tilted
or tipped over. Always ensure that the unit is placed on flat solid ground before operating.

Care and Cleaning
•Before cleaning, ensure that the heater is switched in the off position and is unplugged from the
socket.
•Clean the exterior surfaces of the heater with a dry, soft cloth.
•Never use any form of detergents or solvents to clean the heater.
•Never spray with liquids or submerge in liquids or water.
•DO NOT attempt to clean the interior of the heater.
•DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPEN THE CASE OF THIS HEATER at any time. There are no consumer
serviceable parts inside this unit.
•When the heater is stored during the off season, neatly wind the power cord around the base of the
heater to prevent any damage to the power cord.
Waste electrical and electronic equipment are a special waste category,
collection, storage, transport, treatment and recycling are important because
they can avoid environmental pollution and are harmful to health. Submitting
waste electrical and electronic equipment to special collection centers makes the
waste to be recycled properly and protecting the environment. Do not forget!
Each electric appliance that arrives at the landfill, the field, pollutes the
environment!
