THE DEMANDS of high output near field reproduction
are complex. The operating band must be wide enough for
credible music and natural speech reproduction whilst the
sound must remain clean at high levels. Coverage must be
broad and smooth with a minimum need for equalization
and adjustment. Wharfedale System Link Series full range
active monitor speakers are designed to meet such
demands, within applications requiring both sonic quality
and elegant styling. The Link Series are self contained,
compact, two-way, powered sound systems, providing wide
frequency range in a tough, portable, and acoustically effi-
cient enclosure.
The Link 800 full range active monitor speakers are avail-
able in four solid colours; red, blue, white and black.
Coupled with a small sub-bass unit ( such as the
Wharfedale PB 208) a compact, easily transported yet ver-
satile sound system for application to AV presentations, for
example, can be created.
The Wharfedale System Link full range active monitor
speakers are designed for operation in advanced sound sys-
tems in a variety of venues as diverse as restaurants, dis-
cotheques, places of worship, retail premises, shopping
centres, public houses, sports centres, hotels, schools and
many more. The Link 800 features a 5.5- inch woofer and
1 inch Mylar dome tweeter whilst the Link 600 features a
4” woofer with 1 “ silk dome tweeter.
The Link series speakers are equipped with a progres-
sive/dynamic tweeter protection circuit providing sophisti-
cated limiting and protection from extended abusive levels
and short term peaks.

Link Series
The Link Series can be mounted in a vertical or horizontal
position using any of the wide range of mounting brackets
available from Wharfedale. The Link Series is designed for
table-top or bookshelf installation or, with the use of spe-
cial accessories they can be installed on the wall or flush
mounted on the ceiling.
Link Series speakers are characterized by their exceptional
accuracy, musicality and ability to reproduce demanding
program material with intelligibility and low distortion.
The sonic character is open and natural allowing
subjectively pleasing, yet high levels of performance.

The Link 600 features an internal 30 watt power amplifier whilst the
Link 800 features an internal 60 watt power amplifier with separate level
and tone controls offering extensive control over sound level within its
environment. The two inputs are versatile dual XLR and 1⁄4” phone
jack designs with active balanced line signal connection.
The Link Series measures are compact units and light in weight giving
ease of installation. Auto on/off sleep feature is indicated through a front
panel mounted LED. When engaged the Link senses a presence or
absence of signal at the input and depending on conditions, places the
unit into standby mode. Once a signal is detected the unit moves seam-
lessly and instantly into operational mode and the LED activates.
This feature extends product life and conserves power by effectively
turning off the unit when not needed.
