Unload items from this unit prior to moving.
Before loading or moving this unit, check all screws
and supports for tightness.
Read and follow the Warning Label instructions.
Store the item: 1) in the box; 2) in a dry place; 3) in
temperatures ranging from 40° to 90°. (Not on a cold,
possibly damp, cement floor.)
Inspect your furniture periodically for any loose
glue joints, screws or any other problem that might
affect the stability of your furniture. Tighten or repair
as needed.

DO NOT ALLOW more than one person on the upper bunk.
NOT allow children under 6 years of age to use the upper bunk.
✔Use guard rails on both sides of the upper bunk.
✔Prohibit horseplay on or under the bed.

✔Use the ladder for entering and leaving the upper bunk.
✔If the bunk bed will be placed next to a wall, the guard rail that runs the full length of the bed MUST be
placed against the wall to prevent entrapment between the bed and the wall.
✔Replacement parts, including additional guard rails, may be obtained from
Whittier Wood Furniture.
DO NOT substitute parts.
✔Below is the warning label that appears on the upper bunk end structure. Do not remove this label from the bed.
ONLY use a mattress that is 74" to 75" long and 38" to 39" wide on the upper bunk. MAKE SURE that the
thickness of the upper bunk mattress and foundation which might include a Bunkie Board, does not
exceed TEN INCHES. The total combined height of the mattress and foundation MUST BE at least
FIVE INCHES below the upper edge of the guard rails.
DO NOT REMOVE THIS LABEL
● Never allow a child under 6 years of age on the upper bunk.
● Only use a mattress that is 74"- 75" long and 38"−39" wide on the upper bunk.
● Make sure the thickness of the mattress does not exceed 10 " and the
mattress is at least 5" below the upper edge of the guardrails.
● Use guardrails on both sides of the upper bunk.
● Prohibit horseplay on or under the bed(s).
● Prohibit more than one person on the upper bunk.
● Use the ladder for entering and leaving the upper bunk.
● Periodically check and ensure that the guard rails, ladder and other
components are in their proper positions, free from damage and that all
connectors are tight.
STRANGULATION HAZARD - Never attach or hang items to any part of the bunk
bed that are not designed for use with the bed; for example, but not limited to,
hooks, belts, and jump ropes.

1. Place both Long Safety Rails (G) face-down on a clean, protected surface. Position two Rail Braces
NOTE: Bolts should only be finger-tightened in this step.

(I) over the pre-drilled holes and insert eight 6x35mm Black Hex Bolts (L). See Figure 1.
2. Determine if you want the access to the upper bunk to be on the left or right side of the bed.
Figure 2 shows the ladder attaching on the right to access the top bunk.
Place both Short Safety Rails (H) face-down on a clean, protected surface. Position two Rail
Braces (I) over the pre-drilled holes and insert eight 6x35mm Black Hex Bolts (L). See Figure 2.
For left-access, rotate the Short Safety Rails (H) 180 degrees and attach the Rail Braces (I) with
eight 6x35mm Black Hex Bolts (L). See Figure 2a.

3. Attach the Upper Side Rails (D) to one of the Upper Headboards (B) as shown in Figure 3.
4. Attach the remaining Upper Headboard (B) to the Upper Side Rails (D) as shown in Figure 4.

5. Roll out one Slat Assembly (C) and position it on to the bottom edge of the Side Rails as shown
in Figure 5. Center Slat Assembly (C) and anchor one end with 4x35mm Flat Head Screws (P). Pull
the opposite end slat towards the opposite headboard so that the webbing in between the slats is
drawn taut. Secure that end slat to the rails with two 4x35mm Flat Head Screws (P). Secure the
remaining slats to the side rails with 4x35mm Flat Head Screws (P). See Figure 5.
6. Attach the Short Safety Rail assembly to the side of the Upper Bunk assembly that will not be

placed against a wall with four 6 x 45mm Black Hex Bolts (Q). See Figure 6.

7. Attach the Long Safety Rail assembly to the Upper Bed with four 6x45mm Black Hex Bolts (Q).
See Figure 7.
8. Using the Hex Wrench (S), insert one 6x50mm Black Hex Screw (M) into the upper hole on the
outisde face of each Upper Bed leg. See Figure 8.
Note: Bolts should only be finger-tightened in this step.

9. Attach Lower Side Rails (E) to on of the Lower Headboards (A) as shown in Figure 9.
10. Attach the remaining Lower Headboard (A) to the rails as shown in Figure 10.

With a rubber mallet, tap four 22x100mm Wood Dowels (K) into the holes at the top of each
Lower Headboard (A) as shown in Figure 12.

Roll out one Slat Assembly (C) and position it on to the bottom edge of the Side Rails as shown
in Figure 11. Center Slat Assembly (C) and anchor one end with 4x35mm Flat Head Screws (P).
Pull the opposite end slat towards the opposite headboard so that the webbing in between the
slats is drawn taut. Secure that end slat to the rails with two 4x35mm Flat Head Screws (P).
Secure the remaining slats to the side rails with 4x35mm Flat Head Screws (P). See Figure 11.

13. Do not glue dowels.
Place the Upper Bunk Bed on top of the Lower Bunk Bed so that the dowels insert into the holes
in the bottoms of each leg. See Figure 13.
14. Using the Hex Wrench (S), insert eight 6x50mm Black Hex Screws into the holes in the Upper and
Lower Headboard legs as shown in Figure 14. Align the rail assemblies so that the rail ends are
parallel to each other. Using the Hex Wrench (S), tighten the 6x35mm Black Hex Bolts (L) and the
6x45mm Black Hex Bolts (Q) on both safety rail assemblies.
