This Assembly Requires Two People
TOOLS REQUIRED: Phillips screwdriver, 7/16" or adjustable wrench, power drill and drill bits
Remove the Trestles (C and D) from the Headboard (A) and place them off to the side. See Figure 1. 1.

that is located in the Headboard/footboard carton
which is named 1316AFGAC McKenzie Queen
Storage Bed or 1326AFGAC McKenzie King Storage Bed.

Remove all of the T-nuts from ONE of the Trestles (D). (An easy way to do that is to insert a Hex Bolt
into a T-nut, wiggle the T-nut loose and pull it out of the Trestle. Remove the Hex Bolt and recycle
the T-nuts.) See Figures 2 and 2a.

Remove Drawers (J & K) from Pedestal Kits (Z and Y). To remove drawers, push up on the left side
of the Drawer Release Lever while pushing down on the right Drawer Release Lever (see Figures
3 and 3a). Note where each drawer came from to ensure correct re-installation. (Positions are
marked on drawer backs.)

Place the trestle with the removed T-Nuts on the first rib by the speaker of the Right Pedestal (Z) and
run two ¼" x 1¾" Hex Bolts (F) and Washers (H) from the outside through the Trestle and into the
T-Nuts in the rib. See Figure 4 and 4a.
Install the remaining three Trestles with T-Nuts (D) with ¼" x 1¾" Hex Bolts (F) and Washers (H).
Position these Trestles so the T-Nuts face out as shown in Steps 4 and 4b.
NOTE: DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS UNTIL YOU COMPLETE STEP TEN.
How to identify whether a part is right or left: Stand and face the headboard and look to see
where the part will be used. If it fits on the left side of the headboard, it is a left kit part and
vice versa.

Position the Left Pedestal (Y) so the holes and T-nuts in the Trestles align to the holes and T-nuts in
the ribs. Attach with ¼" x 1¾" Hex Bolts (F) and Washers (H) as in Step 4. Remember that the T-nuts
face out. See Figure 5.
DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS UNTIL COMPLETING STEP 10.

Rotate Pedestal Assembly upside-down so that the deckboards are on the floor. See Figures 6, 6a
and 6b.

7. Place the remaining Trestles (C and D) on the Pedestal Assembly. Face the Trestles with T-Nuts (D)
toward the ends of the Assembly from the center as shown in Figure 6. Insert ¼" x 2½" Hex Bolt (G)
and Washer (H). See Figures 7 and 7a.
DO NOT TIGHTEN BOLTS UNTIL YOU COMPLETE STEP 10.
On each inner pair of Trestles (C and D), place a Foot Assembly (U) between the two middle
trestles. Using a 3/32" or 2mm bit, drill three holes through each pair of trestles and foot assemblies
as shown in Figure 8a. Attach using six #8 x 2" Black Screws (T). See Figures 8 and 8a.
Untie the input jack and speaker wires that are affixed to the left pedestal and string them across
the frame and to the Amp located in the Right Pedestal. DO NOT CONNECT THE WIRES TO THE
AMP YET.
Rotate the bed so the deckboards are face-up again.

Attach the Footboard (B) to the Pedestal Assembly. Align brackets and slide the Pedestal
Assembly down on to the Footboard (B). See Figures 9 and 9b.

Attach Headboard (A) to Pedestal Assembly as in previous step. See Figure 10.
NOTE: NOW TIGHTEN ALL BOLTS ON TRESTLES.

Adjust Glides (W) on the Foot Assemblies (U) so the Glides just touch the floor. See Figure 11.11.

On the amp, unscrew the red plug that does not already have a speaker wire attached until you see
the hole on the post. See Figure 12. Insert the red-tipped speaker wire that is connected to the left
speaker into the hole in the red post and tighten the cap until the wire end is covered. Do not
over-tighten. Repeat for the black post/wire. See Figure 12.

TO WIRE THE SPEAKERS:
The easiest way to reach the speakers is by standing inside the bed assembly.
TO WIRE THE LEFT SPEAKER TO THE AMP:

To attach the input/headphone jack from the Left Pedestal to the Amp, plug the jack set into the
middle pairs of the input/output jack sockets. See Figure 13.
Gather up the slack of the wires from the Left Pedestal and secure to the frame with one of the
provided zip ties.

OPTIONAL STEP. The gold socket seen above is available as a connection to your sub-woofer.
Plug the RCA jack from your sub-woofer into the gold socket and plug the power cord from your
sub-woofer into the power receptacle.
