1. Introduction
1.1. About this document
Thelanguageoftheoriginaloperatinginstruc-
tions is German. All other languages of these
instructions are translations of the original oper-
ating instructions.
Thismanualisdividedintoindividualsections,
which are listed in the table of contents. Each
section has a heading which clearly describes its
content.
A copy of the EC declaration of conformity is a
component of these operating instructions.
Ifatechnicalmodicationismadeonthedesigns
named there without our agreement, this decla-
ration loses its validity.
1.2. Personnel qualications
All personnel who work on or with the lifting unit
mustbequaliedforsuchwork;electricalwork,
forexample,mayonlybecarriedoutbyaqualied
electrician. All personnel must be of legal age.
Operatingandmaintenancepersonnelmustalso
observe national accident prevention regulations.
It must be ensured that personnel have read and
understood the instructions in this operating and
maintenancehandbook;ifnecessary,thismanual
must be ordered from the manufacturer in the
required language.
Thisliftingunitisnotintendedforusebypersons
(includingchildren)withreducedphysical,senso-
ryormentalcapabilities,orlackofexperienceand
knowledge, unless they have been given super-
vision or instruction concerning use of the lifting
unit by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the lifting unit.
1.3. Copyright
Thisoperatingandmaintenancemanualhasbeen
copyrightedbythemanufacturer.Theoperating
and maintenance manual is intended for use by
installation, operating and maintenance person-
nel. It contains regulations and drawings which
may not be reproduced or distributed, either
completely or in part, or used for any competitive
purposewithouttheexpressedconsentofthe
manufacturer. Illustrations may differ from the
originalandserveonlyasexampleillustrationsof
the lifting unit.
1.4. Subject to changes proviso
Themanufacturerreservestherighttomake
technicalmodicationstounitsorcomponents.
Thisoperationandmaintenancemanualrefersto
the lifting unit indicated on the title page.
1.5. Warranty
Thissectioncontainsthegeneralinformationon
the warranty. Contractual agreements have the
highest priority and are not superseded by the
information in this section.
Themanufacturerisobligedtocorrectanyde-
fects found in the lifting units it sells, provided
thattherequirementsbelowhavebeenfullled.
1.5.1. General
• Thedefectsarecausedbythematerialsused
or the way the product was manufactured or
designed.
• Thedefectswerereportedinwritingtotheman-
ufacturer within the agreed warranty period.
• Theliftingunitwasusedonlyasintended.
• All safety and monitoring devices have been con-
nected and checked by specialist personnel.
1.5.2. Warranty period
If no other provisions have been made, the war-
rantyperiodappliestotherst24monthsafter
commissioningortoamax.periodof30months
afterthedeliverydate.Otheragreementsmustbe
madeinwritingintheorderconrmation.These
remain valid at least until the agreed warranty
periodoftheliftingunithasexpired.
1.5.3. Spare parts, attachments and modications
Onlygenuinesparepartsfromthemanufacturer
may be used for repairs, replacements, attach-
mentsandmodications.Unauthorisedadd-ons
andmodicationsortheuseofnon-originalspare
parts can seriously damage the lifting unit and/or
seriously injure personnel.
1.5.4. Maintenance
Theprescribedmaintenanceandinspection
workshouldbecarriedoutregularly.Thiswork
mayonlybecarriedoutbyqualied,trainedand
authorised personnel.
1.5.5. Damage to the product
Damage and malfunctions that endanger safety
must be eliminated immediately by trained per-
sonnel.Theliftingunitmayonlybeoperatedifit
is in proper working order. During the agreed war-
ranty period, the lifting unit may only be repaired
by the manufacturer or an authorised service
centre.Themanufacturerreservestherighttoask
the end-user to return the damaged lifting unit to
the factory for inspection.
1.5.6. Disclaimer
No liability will be assumed for damage to the
lifting unit if any of the following items apply:
• Themanufacturerdeemsthatinformationpro-
videdbytheend-userorcustomerisinsufcient
or incorrect
• Failuretoobservethesafetyinstructions,the
regulations and requirements of German law or
the applicable local laws, or of this operation and
maintenance manual
• Improper use
• Incorrect storage and transport
• Improper assembly/dismantling
• Insufcientmaintenance
• Incorrect repairs
• Inadequate construction site or construction work
