DESCRIPTION
Powerful and long lasting, Rule Tournament Series Cartridge Pumps offer
outstanding performance as well as the versatility of replacing the motor
cartridge if the motor expires. The cartridge feature also allows complete access
to the impeller for easy cleaning and maintenance. Replacing the motor cartridge
only allows the fitting and hose to remain totally intact.
TO CHANGE MOTOR CARTRIDGE
• Block off the thru-hull before removing the motor cartridge.
• Turn off power to the pump then disconnect wiring to cartridge.
• Press cartridge button, twist counterclockwise and pull motor cartridge
straight up.
• Reconnect wire to new motor cartridge.
• Align the arrows and press the new motor cartridge down firmly. Twist motor
housing clockwise until cartridge locks in place. A “click” should be heard
when the cartridge is locked.
WARNING. The operator of the vessel should
ensure the motor cartridge is in the fully locked
position at all times when the vessel is in the water.
Failure to place the motor cartridge in the fully locked position
could result in water intrusion, flooding, property damage, severe
personal injury and/or death.

Mounting the pump
Models 401 C, 403 C,405 C, 401 STC,403 STC, 405 STC
• Drill a 1” diameter hole through the transom or hull bottom. If drilling through
the transom, make sure the hole inside the boat is beneath the waterline
outside the boat when the boat is standing still.
• Place the pump into the hole with the gasket in place on the inside of the boat.
• Tighten the nut on the outside of the hull until you are sure the gasket ring
is tightly sealed. Be careful not to overtighten. Make sure outlet is at least
parallel with boat bottom. This helps prevent airlocks.
• Saw off the excess length of the pickup tube so it is flush with the outside
surface of the nut. In the event you are using a strainer (Rule Model 73), leave
1/2” beyond the nut. Make sure the cut is square and the threads deburred
to allow the debris strainer to fit smoothly.
By lifting the locking ring, you can rotate the position of the discharge nozzle so that
the discharge is facing toward the tank (see diagram below).

Seacock applications
• Drill a 1” diameter hole through the transom or hull
bottom. If drilling through the transom, make sure the
hole inside the boat is beneath the waterline outside
the boat when the boat is standing still.
• Install a thru-hull pickup tube with a filter grate to prevent debris from
entering the seacock and the pump. Use a marine sealant on the flat surface
of the thru-hull where it will be in contact with the outside surface of the boat
and around the threaded tube on both sides of the hull. Install the seacock
and pump using pipe tape or sealant on all threaded connections.
• Screw the pump into the seacock until it is hand tight. Do not over-tighten.
• If the pump is mounted horizontally, the output must be pointed upward
to allow air to vent.

ELECTRICAL
Wire: Normal installations require 16 gauge wire.
Polarity: Brown pump wire connects to the positive (+) side of the battery. Black
pump wire connects to the negative (—) side of the battery.
Fuse: Install proper size fuse & holder in the positive (+) brown wire between the
pump and the battery.
• 500 GPH pumps (Models 401 C, 401 STC, 401 FC)

• 800 GPH pumps (Models 403 C, 403 STC, 403 FC)

IMPORTANT —THIS PRODUCT SHOULD BE INSTALLED WITH THE RECOMMENDED
FUSE SIZE
Note: Keep all wire connections and joints above highest possible water level. Seal
wire connections with a marine sealant to prevent corrosion.
HOSE CONNECTION
Dual Port Option
Each pump is fitted with an additional 1/2” NPT female port and Hex Plug. This feature
allowsyou to addyour washdown pumpwithout adding another thru-hull fitting.

CAUTION: The pump is below the waterline. Water can
come into the boat through the pump if the hose is not connected
tightly to the pump.
• Use a marine ribbed hose that will not kink with bends and
is rated for below water line use.
• Hose should run uphill evenly from pump to livewell tank.
You may use a control valve to regulate the flow.
• Use hose clamps when making connections to pump and valve.

Description
Puissantes et durables, les pompes à cartouche Rule Tournament Series offrent des
performances exceptionnelles, combinées à la flexibilité de pouvoir remplacer la cartouche
de moteur si celui-ci rend l’âme. Cette présentation en cartouche permet également un accès
complet à la turbine pour un nettoyage et un entretien facilités. Remplacer la cartouche moteur
permet aux raccords et aux tuyaux de rester intacts.
Pour changer la cartouche moteur
• Bloquez le passe-coque avant de retirer la cartouche moteur.
• Coupez l’alimentation de la pompe, puis déconnectez le câblage de la cartouche.
• Appuyez sur le bouton de la cartouche, tournez-la dans le sens antihoraire, et tirez la
cartouche moteur vers le haut.
• Reconnectez le câble à la nouvelle cartouche moteur.
• Alignez les flèches et enfoncez fermement la nouvelle cartouche moteur. Tournez le boîtier
du moteur dans le sens horaire jusqu’à ce que la cartouche se verrouille en place. Vous
devriez entendre un « clic » lorsque la cartouche sera verrouillée.
AVERTISSEMENT : L’exploitant du navire devra s’assurer
que la cartouche moteur est parfaitement verrouillée
chaque fois que le navire est à l’eau. Ne pas replacer
la cartouche en position totalement verrouillée peut
entraîner une infiltration d’eau, une inondation, des dommages aux biens, des
préjudices corporels graves et/ou la mort.

a. Appuyez sur le bouton de dégagement de la cartouche

Les écopes de prise d’eau à grande vitesse peuvent endommager la pompe
éventuellement inonder la coque.

MONTAGE DE LA POMPE

• Percez un trou de 25,4 mm (1”) dans la traverse ou au fond de la coque. Si vous percez
la traverse, assurez-vous que le trou à l’intérieur du bateau se situe sous la ligne d’eau
à l’extérieur du bateau lorsque celui-ci est immobile.
• Placez la pompe dans le trou avec le joint en place à l’intérieur du bateau.
• Serrez l’écrou à l’extérieur de la coque jusqu’à être sûr que l’anneau d’étanchéité est
bien scellé hermétiquement. Prenez garde à ne pas trop serrer. Assurez-vous que
l’évacuation est au moins parallèle au fond du bateau. Cela permet d’éviter d’avoir
de l’air dans le circuit.
• Sciez la partie trop longue du tube d’aspiration afin que celui-ci soit au ras de la surface
externe de l’écrou. Si vous utilisez un tamis (Rule Modèle 73, laissez 12,7 mm (1/2”) au-
delà de l’écrou. Assurez-vous que la découpe est carrée et que les filetages sont ébarbés
pour que le tamis à débris s’ajuste parfaitement.
En soulevant la bague de serrage, vous pouvez faire tourner la position de la buse de décharge
pour que la décharge pointe vers le réservoir (voir diagramme ci-dessous).

Applications de seacock
• Percez un trou de 25,4 mm (1”) dans la traverse ou au fond de
la coque. Si vous percez la traverse, assurez-vous que le trou à
l’intérieur du bateau se situe sous la ligne d’eau à l’extérieur du
bateau lorsque celui-ci est immobile.
• Installez un tube d’aspiration de passe-coque avec une grille
de filtration pour empêcher les débris d’entrer dans le seacock et la pompe. Utilisez
un mastic d’étanchéité marin à la surface du passe-coque là où celui-ci sera en contact
avec la surface extérieure du bateau et autour du tube fileté des deux côtés de la coque.
Installez le seacock et la pompe à l’aide de ruban pour conduite ou de mastic d’étanchéité
sur tous les connecteurs filetés.
• Vissez la pompe dans le seacock jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit bien serrée à la main. Prenez
garde à ne pas trop serrer.
• Si la pompe est montée horizontalement, la sortie doit pointer vers le haut pour permettre
à l’air de s’échapper.

fermé lorsque le vivier n’est pas utilisé, cela risque d’entraîner
une infiltration d’eau, une inondation, des dégâts aux biens,

entre lapompe et labatterie.

ATTENTION : La pompe est située sous la ligne d’eau. Il est possible
que de l’eau rentre dans le bateau via la pompe si le tuyau n’est pas
connecté de façon assez étroite à la pompe.
RACCORD DES TUYAUX
Option double sortie
Chaque pompe est équipée d’un branchement NPT 12,7 mm (1/2”) femelle supplémentaire
et d’un bouchon hexagonal. Cette caractéristique vous permet d’ajouter votre pompe de
lavage sans avoir à ajouter un autre passe-coque.
• Utilisez un tuyau flexible marin nervuré qui ne se pliera pas, et qui est prévu pour une
utilisation sous la ligne d’eau.
• Le tuyau devrait remonter de manière régulière jusqu’au réservoir de vivier. Vous pouvez
utiliser un clapet antiretour pour réguler le débit.
• Utilisez des colliers de serrage au niveau des connexions à la pompe et à la valve.

Beschreibung
Die Kartuschenpumpen der Rule Tournament-Baureihe glänzen nicht nur durch ihre
hervorragendenLeistungswerte,sondernbietenzudemdieMöglichkeit,dieMotorkartuscheam
Ende der Nutzungsdauer des Motors auszutauschen. Außerdem bietet das Kartuschenkonzept
einen ungehinderten Zugang zum Laufrad, was die Reinigung und Wartung erleichtert. Da nur
die Motorkartusche ausgewechselt wird, bleiben Stutzen und Schlauch komplett intakt.
Zum Auswechseln der Motorkartusche:
• Verschließen Sie den Borddurchlass, bevor Sie die Motorkartusche herausnehmen.
• Schalten Sie die Spannungsversorgung der Pumpe ab und trennen Sie dann das Kabel
von der Kartusche.
• Drücken Sie den Knopf an der Kartusche; drehen Sie die Motorkartusche gegen den
Uhrzeigersinn und ziehen Sie sie gerade nach oben.
• Schließen Sie das Kabel an die neue Motorkartusche an.
• Richten Sie die Pfeile aneinander aus und drücken Sie dann die neue Motorkartusche
fest nach unten. Drehen Sie das Motorgehäuse im Uhrzeigersinn, bis die Kartusche in
ihrer verriegelten Position sitzt. Die Kartusche rastet hörbar ein, sobald sie am Anschlag
angelangt ist.
WARNUNG: Solange das Boot sich im Wasser befindet,
trägt der Bootseigner bzw. Betreiber des Schiffs die
Verantwortung dafür, dass die Motorkartusche zuverlässig
verriegelt ist. Ist die Motorkartusche nicht vollständig
verriegelt, kann dies zu Wassereintritt, Flutung, Sachschäden, schweren
Verletzungen und zum Tod führen.

WARNUNG: Diese Pumpe ist ausschließlich für Wasser
vorgesehen. Jede Verwendung mit anderen Substanzen, wie
z. B. entzündlichen, gefährlichen, ätzenden oder korrosiven
Flüssigkeiten, kann zur Beschädigung der Pumpe sowie zu
Umwelt-, Sach- und Personenschäden, u. U. mit Todesfolge, führen.
Zum Ausbauen der Motorkartusche:
a. Drücken Sie den Kartuschenfreigabeknopf.

c. Ziehen Sie die Kartusche gerade nach oben.

Pumpe beschädigt und u. U. der Rumpf überflutet werden.

• Bohren Sie ein Loch von
1” Durchmesser durch
den Heckspiegel oder den
Boden des Bootsrumpfes.
Wenn Sie den Heckspiegel
durchbohren, muss das
Loch auf der Innenseite des
Bootes unterhalb der äußeren Wasserlinie liegen, solange das Boot stillsteht.
• Stecken Sie die Pumpe mit der Dichtung von innen her in das Loch des Bootsrumpfes.
• Ziehen Sie die Mutter auf der Rumpfaußenseite fest, sodass der Dichtungsring gut
abdichtet. Überdrehen Sie nicht das Gewinde. Der Auslass muss zumindest parallel zum
Rumpfboden verlaufen. Dadurch werden Lufteinschlüsse verhindert.
• Schneiden Sie den überstehenden Teil des Ansaugrohrs ab, sodass dieses bündig mit
der Außenfläche der Mutter abschließt. Sollten Sie ein Sieb verwenden (Rule-Modell
73), lassen Sie 1/2” über die Mutter hinausragen. Achten Sie darauf, dass der Schnitt
rechtwinklig ist, und entgraten Sie das Gewindeende, damit das Schmutzsieb mühelos
eingesetzt werden kann.
Sie können den Auslass zum Tank hin ausrichten, indem Sie den Sicherungsring anheben und
den Auslassstutzen verdrehen (siehe Abbildung unten).
