browser.Theuserfriendlyinstallationprocedureandintuitiveweb‐basedinterfaceallowseasyintegrationwithyour
homeorbusinessnetworkorWiFi.TheY‐camalsocomeswithmotiondetectionsoftwarethatcangeneratealarm

1.6MinimumSystemRequirements
A PC or Mac is required for the initial setup of a Y-cam only and once the camera is configured, a Y-cam can be used
independently without being connected to a computer.

Unscrewthefrontpartofthecameraandliftofthefromthelensarray.Becarefulnottobreakthelensorinfrared
LEDs.
ThemicroSDcardslotissituatedbehindthelens.
Thecardwillonlyfitinoneway,andwillclickintoplacewheninsertedcorrectly.Donotforcethecardin,itshouldfit
easilyintotheslot.

Forinitialsetup,youneedtoconnecttheY‐camdirectlytoyourrouter,switchorcomputerviaanetworkcable.You
cannotconnectwirelesslytothecamerawithoutfirstsettingitupviaanetworkcable.
YoushouldconnecttheY‐camintoyourinternetrouter(normallysuppliedbyyourbroadbandprovider),aswitchbox
orhub(thatisconnectedtoyourcomputersnetwork)ordirectlytoyourcomputer(giveslimitedviewingoptions,sothis
isnotrecommended).
3.1 ConnectingyourY‐camintoaRouter/Switch
UsingthestandardEthernetnetworkcable,plugthisintothenetworkconnectionsocketontheY‐camatoneend,and
plugtheotherendintoaspareportonyourrouter/switch.
UsingthePowerAdaptor(supplied),plugoneendintothePowerConnectionsocketontheY‐cam.Plugtheotherend
intoanelectricalsocketandturnthepoweron.
TheConnectivityStatusindicatoronthefrontofthecamerawilllightup.Yourrouter/switchwillthenbeginto
communicatewiththecamera.

wanttosetuptheTCP/IPsettingsofthecamerabeforeyouconnecttoit,ifDHCPisdisabledacrossyournetwork,orif
youhavesubnetnetworkproblems.
AssigninganIPaddresstotheCamerawithY‐camSetuputility
1.LaunchCameraSetupprogramtodetectcamerasonthelocalnetwork.
2.Clickon“Setup”buttonandthefollowingsetupinterfacewillpopup.
3. Enterauniquenameforthecamera,thelocation(optional)andleavethedefaultportnumberas80.“ObtainanIP
addressautomatically”and“ObtainDNSserveraddressautomatically”areselectedbydefault,ifyouareconfident
enoughtoenteryourownsettings,youcandosobyselecting“UsethefollowingIPaddress”andfollowthe
guidelinesonthenextpage.
4. ToobtaintheIPaddressesspecifictoyournetwork,click“Start”then“Run”andtype“cmd”inthetextboxandclick
“Ok”.ThiswillbringuptheMS‐DOSprompt.Inthiswindowtype“ipconfig/all”andpressenter.Ascreensimilarto

Double‐clicktheY‐camicononyourDesktoptolaunchtheY‐camSetupprogram.
TheY‐camSetuputilityshouldautomaticallyfindyourcameraifitiscorrectlyconnected(Seeimagebelow).
Sometimestheprogrammaytakeafewminutestofindyourcamera,soifyourcameraisn’tdisplayed,waitafew
momentsandthenclick“Refresh”tosearchforcamerasagain.
[Setup]‐SelecttherequiredcameraandclickSetuptoconfigurethenetworksettingsforthecamera.
[Open]‐SelecttherequiredcameraandclickOpentoaccessthecameraviaawebbrowser(sameasdoubleclick)
