Features of remote controller
MODE Select Button: Each time you push the button, a mode is selected
in a sequence that goes from AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT, and FAN, as the
following figure indicates:

AN SPEED Button: This button is used for setting Fan Speed in the
sequence that goes from AUTO, LOW, MED to HIGH, then back to AUTO.
SWING Button: Push this button, the louver would swing up and down
automatically. Push again to stop it.
TIMER ON Button: Press this button to preset the time ON (start to operate).
Each press will increase the time ON setting in 30 minutes increments.
When the setting time displays 10:00, each press will increase the time ON
setting in 60 minutes increments. To cancel the time ON program, simply
adjust the time ON to 0:00.
LED DISPLAY Button:
Press this button to clear the digital display in the air
conditioner, press it again to activate it (Not applicable to units without this
function).
RESET Button:
When theRESETbutton ispushed, allof thecurrent settings
are cancelled and the control will return to the initial settings. (Use a 1mm
little round stick to push the button)
TURBO Button:
Push this button on COOL/HEAT mode, the air conditioner
goes into powerful cooling or heating operation. Push again to cancel the
TURBO function.
SLEEP Button: Press this button to go into the Energy-Saving operation mode.
Press it again to cancel.
ON/OFF Button:
Push this button to start the unit operation.
Push the button again to stop the unit operation.
AIRDIRECTION Button: Pushthisbutton,the louvercanbe fixedat adesired
angle. The louver swing (upward or downward) to a certain angle for each
press. When the louver swings at an angle which would affect the cooling
and heating efficiency of the air conditioner, it would automatically change
the swing direction (upward or downward).
TIMER OFF Button: Press this button to preset the time OFF (turn off the
operation).Each presswill increasethe timeOFF setting in30 minutesincre-
ments. When the setting time displays 10:00, each press will increase the
timeOFF setting in60 minutes increments.To cancelthe timeOFF program,
simply adjust the time OFF to 0:00

Mode display
Displays the current operation mode. Including
AUTO, COOL, DRY, HEAT (Not applicable t o
cooling only models), FAN and back to AUTO.
ON/ OFF display
Displayed by pressing the ON/OFFbutton.
PresstheON/OFFbutton again to remove.
Temp./ Timer display
Displaysthetemperaturesetting(17 °Cto30 °Cor
timer setting (0~24h).When you set theoperat -
ing mode to FAN ONLY, no temperature setting
isdisplayed.
TIMERdisplay
Thi s di spl ay area shows t h e set t ing s of t he
TIMER.That is,ifonlythestartingtimeof opera -
tion isset, it will display TIMERON.
If only the turning otime of operation is set, it
will display TIMEROFF. If both operations are
set,it will show TIMERONOFFwhich indicates
you have chosen to set both the starting time
and o t ime.
Fan speed display
Displays t he select ed fan speed: HIGH, MED,
LOW.Nothing displayswhen theoperating mode
is either AUTO or DRY.

button.Push the LOCKbutton to clear display.
NOTE: All signs shown in the Fig. is for the purpose of clear present ation.
But during theactual operation onlythe relative functional signsare shown

Handling the remote controller
Location of the remote controller
• Keep the remote controller where its signals
can reach the receiver of the indoor unit.
(Adistance of 8m is allowed.)
• When you select the timer operation, the
remote controller automatically transmits a
signal to the indoor unit at the speci ed time.
• Ifyoukeeptheremote controllerinaposition
thathinderspropersignaltransmission,atime
lag of up to 15 minutes may occur.
Replacing batteries
Theremotecontrollerusestwoalkaline
dry batteries (R03/LR03X2).
(1) Slide the cover of the battery
compartment o according to the
arrowdirection,thenreplacetheold
batteries with new ones.
(2) Insertthenewbatteriesmakingsure
that the (+) and (-) of battery are
installed correctly.
(3) Reattachthecoverbyslidingitback
into position.

CAUTIONS
• The air conditioner will not operate if curtains, doors or other materials
block the signals from the remote controller to the indoor unit.
• Prevent any liquid from falling into the remote controller. Do not expose
the remote controller to direct sunlight or heat.
• Iftheinfraredsignalreceiverontheindoorunitisexposedtodirectsunlight,
theairconditionermaynotfunctionproperly.Usecurtainstopreventthe
sunlight from falling on the receiver.
• If other electrical appliances react to the remote controller, either move
these appliances or consult your local dealer.

Automaticoperation
When you set theair conditioner inAUTOmode,
it will automatically select cooling, heating
(cooling only type without), or fan only operation
dep endi ng on what t emperat ure you have
select ed and t he room temperature.
Once you select the operating mode, the
operating conditions are saved in the unit’s
microcomputer memory.
Thereaft er, t he air condit ioner will start operating
u nd er t h e sam e co n d i t i o n s w h en y ou si mp l y p ush
theON/OFFbutton of theremotecontroller.

Set the desired temperature. Normally, set it

If the AUTO mode is uncomfortable, you can
select the desired conditionsmanually.
When you select the AUTO mode, you do not
have t o set the fan speed. The fan speed will be
automatically controlled.

NOTE
Due to the dierence of the set t emperature of the unit and t he actual indoor
temperature, theAir Conditioner when in DRYmode will automatically operate
many timeswithout running the COOLand FAN mode.
Start
Ensure unit is plugged and power is available.
TheOPERATIONindicator onthedisplay panel
of the indoor unit starts ashing.
1. Mode select button (MODE)
Press to select DRY.
2. Temperature button (TEMP)
Push the TEMP button to set the desired
temperature,themostcomfortabletemperature
is between 21 °C to 28°C.
3. ON/OFF button
When the remote controller is o , push this
buttontostarttheairconditioner.Nofanspeed
indicator displays .The Indoor fan speed will
be automatically selected LOW.
Stop
ON/OFF button
Pushthisbuttonagaintostoptheairconditioner.
Note The fan speed cannot be ad usted when
the unit is inAUTO and DRY mode.
Start
Ensure unit is plugged and power is available.
The OPERATION lamp on the display panel of
the indoor unit starts ashing.

Press to select COOL, HEAT (Not applicable
to cooling only models), or FAN.
2. Temperature button (TEMP)
Set the desired temperature, the most
comfortable temperature is between 21 °C to
28°C.
3. Fan speed button (FAN SPEED)
Press to select AUTO , LOW , MED and
HIGH .
4. ON/OFF button
When the remote controller is o , push this
button to start the air conditioner.
Stop
ON/OFF button
Pushthisbuttonagaintostoptheairconditioner.
TheFANONLYmodedoesnotcontroltemperature.
Therefore, perform only steps 1, 3, and 4 to
select this mode.

TIMER ON button can set the auto-on time of the
unit. TIMER OFF button can set the auto-off time
of the unit.
To set the starting time
1. Push the TIMER ON button, then the remote
controller shows TIMER ON, the last set time for
the starting operation and the signal “h” will be
shown on the LCD DISPLAY area. You are now
ready to reset the time to START the operation.
2. Push the TIMER ON button again to set desired
unit start time.
3. After setting the TIMER ON, there will be a one-
half second delay before the remote controller
transmits the signal to the air conditioner. Then,
afterapproximately another2 seconds,the signal
“h” disappears and the set temperature will re-
appear on the digital display.
To set the stopping time
1. Push the TIMER OFF button and the remote
controller will show TIMER OFF, the last set time
for the stopping operation and the signal “h” will
beshownon theLCDDISPLAYarea.Youare now
ready to reset the time of the STOP operation.
2. PushtheTIMEROFF buttonagain toset the time
you want to stop the operation.
3. After setting the TIMER OFF, there will be a one-
half second delay before the remote controller
transmits the signal to the air conditioner. Then,
afterapproximately another2 seconds,the signal
“h” disappears and the set temperature will re-
appear on the digital display.

Set the starting & stopping time
1. Push the TIMER ON button, the remote controller
will show TIMER ON, the last set time for START
operation and the signal “h” will be shown on the
LCD display area.
You are now ready to readjust the TIMER ON to
start the operation.
2. Push the TIMER ON button again to set the time
you want to start the operation.
3. PushtheTIMEROFFbutton,theremotecontroller
will show TIMER OFF, the last set time for STOP
operation and the signal “h” will be shown on the
LCD display area. You are now ready to reset the
time to STOPoperation.
4. Push the TIMER OFF button again to set the time
you want to stop the operation.
5. After setting the TIMER, there will be a one-half
seconddelaybeforetheremotecontrollertransmits
thesignaltotheAirConditioner.Then,afterapproxi -
matelyanother2seconds,thesettemperaturewill
re-appear on the digital display.
Notes:
- Thetimersetting(TIMERONorTIMEROFF)thatinsequenceoccursdirectly
after the actual time will be activated rst.
- If the same time is set for both TIMER ON and TIMER OFF settings, the
TIMER OFF time will automatically increase 0.5h (the set time is less than
10hours)or 1hour(the settimeismorethan 10hours). Ifthetimesettings
for both TIMER ON and TIMER OFF are 24 hours, the TIMER ON settings
will automatically decrease 1 hour.
Change the TIMER
TochangetheTIMERON/OFFtime,justpressthecorrespondingTIMERbutton
and reset the time.

Timer operation

Cautions
1. When replacing batteries, do not use old batteries or different type batteries.
Otherwise it may cause the remote controller to malfunction.
2. If you do not use the remote controller for a few weeks or more, remove the
batteries. Otherwise, battery leakage may damage the remote controller.
3. The average battery life during normal use is approximately half a year.
Replace the batteries when there is no receiving beep from the indoor unit
or if the transmission indicator on the remote controller fails to light.
4. Be sure there are no barriers between the remote controller and the receiver
of indoor unit otherwise the air conditioner will not work.
5. Keep the Remote Controller away from all liquids.
6. ProtecttheRemoteControllerfromhightemperaturesandexposuretoradiation.
7. Keep the indoor receiver out of direct sunlight or the Air Conditioner may
malfunction.
8. Keep the remote controller away from EMI (Electro-Magnetic Interference)
supplied by other household appliances.
