(www.zmicro.com).
We recommend you read this manua
as fo ows:
Carefu y fo ow the instructions in the
Insta ation chapter for hookup and
initia contro settings. Refer to the
Operation chapter for a comp ete
description of a the user contro s,
and the Maintenance chapter for care
and correcting any unforeseen
prob ems with the system. The
Appendix is provided for quick y
finding technica information about
the G ider.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The G ider works with any computer
system that provides industry stan-
dard screen formats from 640 x 480
to 1280 x 1024, with up to 75 Hz
vertica sync. See the Specifications
chapter of this Manua for a comp ete
isting of a reso utions supported.
The G ider requires a computer with a
suitab e onboard subsystem for Video
Adapter Card that can support XGA
1024 x 768, SVGA 800 x 600, or
VGA 640 x 480 at 60 Hz.
The G ider shipping box contains the

effective y with any workstation.
An e ectrostatica y-app ied and
baked-on finish is used for extreme
durabi ity for shipboard, airborne,
fie d dep oyments, and industria or
ab app ications where weight and
size are critica .

TOOLS REQUIRED
PRECAUTIONS
Required Too s and Equipment.
 F athead screwdriver with about
10" shaft.
 Phi ips screwdriver with about 10"
shaft.
 Adjustab e wrench or box
wrenches.
In preparation to insta the G ider,
take the fo owing precautionary
steps:
 Turn off the e ectrica power to your
computer.
 Verify the G ider power switch is
off. If the G ider is off, the Power
ight on the disp ay front wi not be
i uminated and the power switch
wi be down toward the straight
ine.
WARNING: To avoid shock hazard:
 Do not remove the covers
around the Glider.
 Do not connect or disconnect
the Glider during an
electrical storm.
 The power cord plug must be
connected to a properly
wired and grounded power
outlet.
 Any equipment to which the
Glider will be attached
must also be connected to
properly wired and
grounded power outlets.
 The socket outlet shall be
installed near the
equipment and shall be
easily accessible.
OTE: For the fastest and easiest
installation of the Glider,
follow these steps in the
sequence they are
presented.

SLIDE REMOVAL
With the G ider aid on
a workbench, press
down to re ease the Z-
Locks on each side of
the front of the G ider to
s ide the side rai s back.
The s ide rai s wi reach
a stop about ha f way
back.
This is a safety stop to
prevent the G ider from
s iding out too far whi e
mounted in the rack.
Simu taneous y press in
the safety catches on
each s ide rai and s ide
the side rai s a the way
off the back of the
G ider.
The s ides shou d now
be separated from the
G ider.

At the back of the
cabinest frame, tighten
the s ide mounts to the
cabinet frame.
Make sure to ho d the
s ide mounts hard
against the rack rai .

On each s ide rai , use
a Phi ips screwdriver to
oosen the two adjust-
ment screws toward the
back of the s ide rai .
An adjustab e wrench
or box wrench may be
used to ho d the nut on
the other side of the
s ide rai .
On the rear of the
cabinet frame, use
three Phi ips screws to
oose y secure the right
and eft rear s ide
mounts to the cabinet
frame.
DO NOT tighten these
screws fu y.
On the front of the
cabinet frame, use three
Phi ips screws and
washers per side to
secure the right and eft
Z-Lock mounts ho ding
the s iders.
DO NOT tighten these
screws to a ow for
adjustment of the G ider
within the cabinet
frame.
As seen from this
reverse view, a ign the
s ider into the Z-Lock
bracket grooves so a
three screw ho es show.
Each s ide unit inc udes
the s ide rai , the front
Z-Lock mount and the
rear mount.
The top notch of the Z-
Lock must a ign with
the s ide rai top ridge.

If not, check a ignment
of the s ider and Z-Lock
mount.
Pu the two G ider
s ides out unti they
ock.
Ho d the G ider on
each side over the back
set of ro ers, with the
front into your stomach.
The G ider MUST be
eve . This step may
best be done with two
peop e, one on each
side of the s ide rai s.
If the G ider binds
during insertion, the
G ider ro ers are not
proper y a igned into
the s ider receptic e.
Simu taneous y press in
the catches on each
s ider and move the
G ider a the way into
the cabinet frame.
Feed the cab es from
the G ider back through
the cabinet frame.
Guide the G ider into
the s ides and s ide the
G ider in unti it stops.
If a igned proper y, the
ro ers on the G ider
s ide smooth y into and
out of the s ider rai s.

FINAL ADJUSTMENTS
S ide the G ider partia y
out.
Use a f athead screw-
driver to s ight y move
the Z-Locks in toward or
out from the G ider,
depnding on the need
for best fit. Whi e
ho ding the Z-Locks at
the proper setting,
tighten the screws on
the Z-Lock mounts.
Install Glider

Go to the rear of the
cabinet to tighten the
s ider extender rai
scews. If there is not
enough room to work
at the back of the
cabinet, the G ider may
need to be removed to
tighten the rai screws.
The G ider shou d now
s ide in and out
smooth y. If not, repeat
these steps.
Because of variances in
cabinet frames, there
may need to be some
adjustments of the
G ider s ide system for
best fit and movement
of the G ider in and
out.
If the G ider binds when
ro ing in and out,
perform the fo owing
procedures.
S ide the G ider in and
out severa times. The
G ider shou d s ide in
and out easi y.
INSTALLATION TEST
The G ider shou d s ide

not, adjust the position
of the two Z-Locks
again.
