ADVICE
During the season, you are advised to leave your Manta II
in the pool.
If you wish to remove it while bathing, remove
the hose, but do not roll it up. (1)
Never expose the hose to direct sunlight.
ASSEMBLY
This unit comes fully assembled.
All you have to do is fix it:
• the grey disk, with the face marked “Top” uppermost,
on the flexible foot. The disk must be correctly
positioned in the throat of the flexible foot and
should be able to rotate freely. (2)
• the small available circular deflector
using the hose adapter as shown
in the diagram opposite. (3)
FITTING THE HOSE
Your Manta II hose is made up of 10 x 1 m sections.
• The ideal hose length for your pool is the greatest
distance your Manta II will reach from the point
of connection plus one hose section, i.e. the skimmer
or vacuum point, to the furthest lower corner of your
pool. (4)
• After calculating the correct overall length, assemble
your hose by fitting the sections together.
• A hose weight is provided to reduce the buoyant effect
of the hose. The buoyancy of the hose tends to lift
the Manta II especially in deeper water.
Ensure the disc sets flat on the pool surface
by adjusting the hose weight about 0,5 m from
the automatic pool cleaner. (5)
Connect the hose to the automatic pool cleaner.

INSTALLATION
• Make sure the skimmer, pump basket and filter
are clean.
• Adjust the inlet jets so that they point towards the
bottom of the pool.
• Close the main drain on the bottom of your pool.
• Turn on the pool drain.
• Fill the Manta II hose with water using the flow from
the inlet jets ensuring that the hose remains beneath
the surface of the water during and after these
procedures. (6)
IMPORTANT:
You can connect your Manta II to a (or the) skimmer
point, or to the vacuum point. You are strongly
advised to connect it to a skimmer point for
maximum cleaning efficiency.
CONNECTION
• Pools with one skimmer and no vacuum point
In pools fitted with only one skimmer it is advisable
to use a flow control valve.
Use a weir adapter to fit the automatic flow control
valve to the skimmer (7).
IMPORTANT : The automatic flow adjustment valve is
pre-set in the factory to number 3, the most suitable
position for European pools. For an optimal performance
from your cleaner, we recommend that you do not move
the valve from this position. Secondly, always check that
the valve’s dark grey flap is not held in the open position
by the red lever – otherwise your cleaner cannot function.
IMPORTANT:
The valve must be under the water at all times,
otherwise air will be sucked into the pump.
• Pools with two skimmers
Connect the hose or skimmer socket located in the main
part of the pool. Then adjust the suction of the shallow
end skimmer so that the automatic pool cleaner will
move around at normal speed 5 to 6 meters per minute).
• Pools with vacuum point
Connect the automatic pool cleaner to the vacuum
point and then adjust the flow using the skimmers
as described above.
FLOW TEST
You can always check the flow rate, particularly if you
have doubts about the suction power of your pump.
N.B. : all these operations must be carried out under
water so that the pump does not take in air.
1. Remove the Manta II from the hose and replace
with the pool pulse. (8)
2. Note the zone indicated on the tester :
“Ideal”:
the flow rate is ideal for running your Manta II. Remove
the tester and connect the appliance to the hose.
”Min”:
increase the flow by closing the valve or flap of the
skimmer or skimmers until the tester indicator moves
into the ideal zone. Remove the tester and connect
the appliance to the hose.
“Max”:
reduce the flow by opening the valve or flap
of the skimmer or skimmers until the tester indicator
moves into the ideal zone. Remove the tester
and connect the appliance to the hose.
WINTER STORAGE
Clean the entire unit and the hoses with clean water.
Allow to dry and store them in a dry frost-protected
area.

Stage 2 : Adjusting the special Manta II diaphragm
If the opening of the diaphragm’s cavity is too large
(over 4 mm), but the diaphragm is not damaged or torn,
you can solve the problem by leaving one ridge
of the diaphragm exposed from the cassette chamber.
This may eradicate any performance-related problems –
cleaner stopping, coverage problems. (13)
Stage 3 : Re-fitting the diaphragm
1. Fit the diaphragm to the inner extension pipe.
If it is a new diaphragm, do not forget to put
the retaining ring in place. (14)
2. Slide the upper part of the inner extension pipe
(end opposite the diaphragm) into the lower part
of the cassette. The diaphragm must fit perfectly
into the lower part of the cassette. (15)
3. Screw the cassette chamber to the cleaner’s outer
extension pipe. Do not over tighten.
4. Reinsert the cassette into the body and tighten
the outer extension pipe / cassette unit,
until it has clicked into place. (16)
20
PROBLEM SOLVING
To be checked
• Check that your filtration system is working properly
and that the multiport valve is in the filtration position.
• Check whether the filter and the skimmer baskets are
clean.
• Make sure the main drain is fully closed.
• Shut down the other suction lines to increase the flow
into the automatic pool cleaner.
• Check the power of your pump: the minimum flow
necessary is approximately 5m3/hour.
• Check whether the diaphragm of the automatic pool
cleaner is obstructed by debris or is damaged.
CHANGING THE DIAPHRAGM
Stage 1 : Removing the diaphragm
1. Hold the main body of the Manta II and disconnect
the cassette from the body. Remove the cassette from
the body of the Manta II. (9)
2. Whilst holding the outer extension pipe with one
hand, unscrew the cassette chamber completely. (10)
3. Take hold of the diaphragm and remove it
from its cassette. (11)
4. Withdraw the diaphragm from the inner extension
pipe without removing the retaining ring on the
diaphragm. (12)

Problem
The Manta II will not function:

23
PROBLEM SOLVING
To be checked
• Check the system is tight: between the automatic pool
cleaner and hose, between each of the hose sections,
between the hose and the valve, between the valve
and the skimmer.
The problem is undoubtedly because the Manta II is not
assembled in the way best suited to the shape and
obstructions in your pool.
You have four options:
• Lastly, you can fit the large circular deflector to the
hose adapter after the short hose fixed to the cleaner
(20),
If none of these options resolves the problem,
connect the hose to the vacuum point the furthest away
from the steps, or shorten the hose to prevent it from
coming to rest on the steps.
• You can also fit the small circular deflector to the hose
adapter, after the short hose fixed to the cleaner (19),
• You can fit the large circular deflector instead of the
small one with the hose adapter immediately after the
cleaner (18),
Problem
The Manta II moves very slowly
and air bubbles appear
in the flow:
The Manta II jams against
the ladder or steps:
Problem
The Manta II does not clean
all parts of the pool:
The Manta II will not stay
on the bottom of the pool:
The Manta II jams
on the main sump:
The Manta II jams
against the light:
The Manta II is over
the water line:
The Manta II lies down:
PROBLEM SOLVING
To be checked
• To ensure that the entire pool is cleaned the filtration
system operating time can be reduced. For example,
6 hours filtration in two hour sessions will give better
coverage of the pool than single 6 hour filtering
session.
• Make sure your hose is long enough and add sections
if necessary.
• Direct the inlet jets towards the bottom of the pool.
• Check the condition of the hose (see storage advice
page 16).
• Make sure the hose weight is correctly installed
(see diagram 5).
• Close the main drain.
• Check whether the main drain grill is properly fixed.
• Fit the light correctly.
• Use the control valve or adjust the opening of the
skimmers to regulate the flow of water passing
through the automatic pool cleaner.
• If the automatic pool cleaner is unbalanced, the Manta II
must be returned to the manufacturer for repair.

19
20
22
• You can fit the small circular deflector to the hose
adapter immediately after the cleaner (17),
