1. Introduction
About your Snow S
Congratulations on the purchase of your new
Snow S. Please read this User’s Guide carefully
before using your Snow S. This guide will help
you to better understand the Snow S’s features
and allow you to get the full benefit of your Snow
S video magnifier.
The Snow S is a lightweight handheld electronic
magnifier presenting crystal-clear image on a
large 4.7” widescreen LCD display, also with a
convenient speech feature.

2. Safety and Maintenance
To keep your video magnifier in a good condition,
please read the following safety guidelines
carefully:
▶Do not expose the Snow S to excessive heat or
direct sunlight to avoid the risk of fire.
▶To avoid risk of electrical damage, keep your
Snow S away from fluids and chemicals.
▶To avoid the risk of electrical shock, do not
attempt to disassemble the unit. Refer all
requests for services to an authorized repair
facility.

▶Always unplug the Snow S before cleaning.
Use the supplied cleaning cloth or other soft cloth
to clean the exterior. Do not use cleaning agents
or abrasive materials, as they will damage your
video magnifier.

4.2 Installing and Charging the Battery
4.2.1 Battery Installation
Install the battery as follows:
1. Turn the unit over so that the back is facing
USB port
AV-OUT port/
Headphone port

2. Press and slide the battery cover open.
3. Insert the battery, ensuring that the slots in
the battery match the terminals in the battery
compartment.
4. Place the battery cover back on the unit and
slide it closed.
4.2.2 Battery Charging
Connect the Power adapter to the USB port of
the Snow S and then plug the other end of the
power adapter into the power outlet. The LED
indicator light will turn red to indicate the unit is
charging. When the battery is fully charged, the
LED indicator will turn off.
Charging the battery takes about 4 hours. A fully
charged battery will last for approximately 3.5
hours. You can purchase an extra battery for

long trips or extended use.
Note:
1. The battery should be fully charged prior to
using the Snow S for the first time.
2. If the on-screen battery indicator displays no
bars and begins flashing, the battery is low and
you need to be recharged.
3. When connect to the power adapter for
charging, the Snow S is powered by the power
adapter, so you can use it while the battery is
charging.
4.3 Installing the Wrist Strap
Insert the small loop through the corner of the

Snow S designed for the wrist strap. Pull the
other end of the strap through the loop and pull
tight to secure it.
5. General Guidelines for Use
1) Charge the battery fully before using your
Snow S for the first time.
2) Always use the power adapter provided with
the Snow S. Do not use any other power
adapters; other power adapters may harm the
unit and void the warranty.
3) Use the Snow S in environments where the
temperature is between 10°C and 40°C (50 and
104F). Do not leave the Snow S in vehicles,
which may become hotter or colder than this
temperature range.

6. Button Functions & Operations
6.1 Power On/Off
Press and hold the light blue Power button on
top edge of the Snow S to power the unit on.
The indicator will light up green and the unit
will enter into real time reading mode.
Press and hold the Power button for 2 seconds
to turn the unit off. The green indicator light
will turn off as the Snow S powers down.
Note: You DON’T need to power your Snow S
off each time you’re done using it. Just short
press the Power button and your Snow S will
enter into standby mode(introduced later on
page 17).
6.2 Adjusting the Magnification
Press the “+” button to zoom in, and press the

“—” button to zoom out.
Magnification levels:
Placing the Snow S flat on the reading material
will give you a magnification level of 4.6x to
20x.
Lifting the Snow S up over the material slightly
will give you a magnification level of 2.5x to
10x.
You can get much larger magnification of the
material if you connect the Snow S to a TV.
The magnification level when used this way is
dependent on the size of the TV.
6.3 Changing the Color Mode
You can choose between two modes of
operation:

Normal color mode
In Normal color mode, press the Mode button to
cycle through the following viewing modes:
Full color mode
Grey mode
High contrast white text on black background
High contrast black text on white background
High contrast white text on blue background
High contrast blue text on white background
High contrast yellow text on black background
High contrast black text on yellow background
High contrast blue text on yellow background
High contrast yellow text on blue background
Favorite color mode
To enter into favorite color mode, firstly choose

your favorite contrast color in normal mode, then
press and hold the Mode button for 2 seconds
until you hear a BEEP.
In this mode, press the Mode button to cycle
through 3 basic modes: full color, your favorite
contrast color and its reverse color (such as
white on blue & blue on white).
To exit Favorite color mode, press and hold the
mode button for 2 seconds until you hear a BEEP.
NOTE:
1. If the unit enters into Favorite color mode
from full color mode or grey mode, then 3
options available will be full color, white on black
and black on white.
2. If you turn off the unit during Favorite color
mode, the Snow S will memorize the settings and

enter into Favorite color mode automatically the
next time you power it on.
6.4 Freezing an Image
Hold the Snow S with the camera pointed at the
object or material you want to read and press the
Freeze button, then the image is captured. You
can now bring it closer to you and change the
magnification or contrast to examine the image.
Press the freeze button again to revert to real
time reading mode.
6.5 Turning Sounds On/Off
By default, the button sound is off.
To turn the sound on: Zoom all the way out to
the lowest magnification, then press and hold
the Zoom out button for 5 seconds until you
hear two BEEPS.

To turn the sound off: Zoom all the way out to
the lowest magnification, then press and hold
the Zoom out button for 5 seconds until you
hear a BEEP.
6.6 Turning the LED Light On/Off
By default, the LED light for the camera is on.
To turn the light off: Press and hold the Mode
button for 5 seconds until you hear two BEEPS.
To turn the light on: Press and hold Mode
button for 5 seconds until you hear two BEEPS.
6.7 Adjusting the Brightness
To enter brightness adjustment mode: Zoom
all the way in to the highest magnification,
then press and hold the freeze and zoom in
buttons at the same time. A brightness bar
will appear.

To adjust the brightness: While in brightness
adjustment mode, press the zoom in button
to increase brightness or the zoom out button
to decrease brightness.
To exit brightness adjustment mode: Press
the contrast button to confirm the current
brightness setting and exit brightness
adjustment mode. Note: If you do not adjust
the brightness for 5 seconds while in
brightness adjustment mode, the unit will
exit adjustment mode automatically.
6.8 Connecting to a TV
You can use the included video cable to connect
your Snow S to a TV or monitor. Plug one end of
the video cable into the AV-OUT port on your
Snow S and the other end of the cable into an
available AV-IN port on your TV or monitor.

Once connected, the Snow S screen will turn off
automatically and the unit will enter into AV-OUT
mode.
To select the appropriate TV standard, press and
hold the Freeze button for 3 seconds. Use the
Zoom in and Zoom out button to choose PAL or
NTSC, then press Mode button to confirm your
selection. If all is correct, the image will be
shown on your TV.
Once your selection is confirmed, it will become
the default TV standard of the Snow S. No need
to set it again next time.
After unplugging the AV-OUT cable, the image
will automatically return to its normal reading
mode without any other operation required.
