ZyXEL’s Smart Home Gateway (SHG) is the heart of your home- or remote-based telehealth solution.
The SHG is designed to be a flexible solution bringing Internet access into the home using multiple
Internet technologies to ensure the device will be able to provide connectivity no matter where it's
deployed.The SHG can connect using common DSL or cable modem connections, by using dial-up
Internet over any phone line, or by using 3G or 4G wireless technology. Multiple connectivity
options can be combined to provide a fail-over solution for deployments that can’t risk down time.
ZyXEL’s SHG also offers a built-in battery backup, allowing it to be used even in cases of power
failure or when traveling.The SHG can be configured to send an e-mail alert to the user when
battery power is low or when the SHG switches from its primary to secondary Internet connection.
ZyXEL’s SHG is designed to be the gateway to your telehealth solution, providing aggregation
capability for multiple in-home medical devices. These devices can be connected directly to the
SHG via Ethernet or USB, or it can be connected wirelessly using WiFi, Bluetooth, or Zigbee.This
flexibility allows the SHG to be used in any telehealth application regardless of the monitoring
devices used.
