> INTRODUCTION
This procedure is intended to guide you through the process of checking the reference voltages for the
Stepper Driver controllers on the X400, also known as Pololu A4988.
> PROCEDURE
1. Determine your Stepper Motor Type
2. Remove hardware from bottom blue panel of printer. Once removed, tape to the build plate
with blue painter’s tape.
Type: MOONS Motor
Type: FULLING Motor

3. Acquire a grounding strap and ground yourself.
4. Remove 4x M3x14 countersunk screws & open the electronics black box. Place lid to side.
5. Once inside, identify the Pololu drivers. Each driver is in a labeled position, as follows:

6. Using a multimeter, measure from the reference point to the USB connector.
If you are having trouble accessing the reference point, you can place one probe in the center of
the potentiometer screw for the stepper driver. You should see the following voltages +/- 0.01V
(different for two motor types):
