Using the keyboard
The keyboard has full-sized keys, separate cursor, lock, Windows and hotkey keys.
Hotkeys
To activate hotkeys, press and hold the Fn key before pressing the other key in the
hotkey combination.
Hotkey Icon Function Description
Fn + F1 Speaker toggle Turns the speakers on and off.
Fn + F2 Volume down Decreases the sound volume.
Fn + F3 Volume up Increases the sound volume.
Fn + F4 Play / Pause Play or Pause a selected media file.
Fn + F5 Search Opens the search box in browser.
Fn + F6 Display toggle
Switches display output between the display
screen, external monitor (if connected) and
both.
Fn + F7 Wireless device Shows connected wireless devices.
Fn + F8 Settings Activates Windows Settings options.
Fn + F9 Brightness down Decreases the screen brightness.

Fn + F10 Brightness up Increases the screen brightness.
Fn + F11 Mail Activates the default email.
Fn + F12 Scroll Lock Scroll Lock Turns Scroll Lock on or off.
Fn + Home Home Scrolls to the beginning of a document.
Fn + End End Scrolls to the end of a document.
Fn + PgUp Page up Scrolls up a page in a document.
Fn + PgDn Page down Scrolls down a page in a document.

Using your computer for the first time
1. Plug in before turning on for the first time.
2. Press the power button.
Note: Hold until you see the Acer logo.
3. Then follow the onscreen instructions to complete setup.
Important: Do not press the power button repeatedly. Only press it to activate the
device after the current function is completed.
Getting started with Windows 10
Note: Open the Start Menu and search for ‘Acer Documents’ for help with setting
up a network connection, using the touchpad, and other information which is
important for your health and safety. (The information of the Safety Guide may vary
by product or region.)
Connecting to the Internet
If using a wireless LAN:
Select the wireless icon in the lower-right corner of the screen and you will see the
available wireless networks.
Select a Wi-Fi network and enter the security key if required.

If using a LAN:
Connect a network cable to the Ethernet (RJ-45) port. Please refer to your router’s
or ISP’s user guide for additional assistance.
