Charcoal BBQ Grill
Please read these instructions for assembly and use carefully before you use
this device. Make sure that the barbecue is assembled according to the
assembly instructions and is used appropriately. If used as intended the device
will work properly without any problems.

Do not use the barbecue in closed and/or lived-in rooms,
e.g. buildings, tents, caravans, mobile homes and on boats.
There is a danger to life caused by carbon monoxide poisoning!
Children from the age of 8 as well as persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental abilities or those lacking experience
and/or knowledge of how to use this device may use it provided
they are supervised or have been told and understand how to
handle this product and also know about the dangers involved.
Children must not be allowed to play with this product.
Childrenmustnotbeallowedtocleanandservicethedevice
without being supervised.
Differenttypesofbatteriesorbatteriesthatarealreadyinuseshouldnot
be used in combination with newbatteries.
Never charge batteries that are not meant to be recharged.
Remove empty batteries from the device and dispose of appropriately.
Electrical connections must not be short-circuited.
How to remove batteries from the device:
•
Wait until the device has cooled down.
•
Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the barbecue.
•
Remove the batteries one after the other.
•
Close the battery compartment again.

Wearspecialbarbecuegloves(heatinsulationclassII,DIN-EN407)oruse
suitable barbecue tongs while handling the barbecue!
•
Leavethebarbecuetocooldowncompletelybeforeyoustartcleaningit.Notobservingthiscould
result in a deflagration and an uncontrollable heat surge causing burns.
•
The barbecue must stand on a firm and even surface while in operation.
•
Never use water to extinguish the charcoal.
•
Do not use the product under covered areas or in closedrooms.
•
Do not leave the hot barbecue unattended.
•
Do not set up the barbecue in the vicinity of entrances and well-frequentedareas.
•
Do not wear clothing with loose sleeves while you are handling the barbecue.
•
Do not allow children to play with the wrapping foil. There is a danger ofsuffocation!
•
Do not use any solvent or thinner to clean the device.
•
Charcoal develops carbon monoxide when it is burning.
This gas is highly dangerous and can lead to poisoning in closed rooms.
•
Do not operate the barbecue during storms and in case of heavy rain.
Intended Use
The barbecue may only be used for food that is suitable for being barbecued.
In doing this all prerequisites of these Instructions for Use must be observed.
The barbecue is for private use only.
Only use this barbecue as described in these Instructions for Use.
Any other use is considered to be not as intended and may injure persons or damage objects.
The manufacturer is not liable for damages caused by not using the product as intended.
Before you start using the barbecue
•
Remove barbecue from bag.
•
Checkthatallpartsarethereandnotdamaged
(see Parts List).
•
Open the battery compartment below the base
of the barbecue and insert 4 x 1.5V type AA
batteries. Mind the polarity.
Batteries are not included in the delivery.
•
Removebatteriesincaseyouarenotusing
thebarbecuefora longerperiod oftime.

How to start your barbecue
•
Whenusingthebarbecueforthefirsttime,leavethecharcoaltoglowfor30minutesbeforeyouputfoodonthe
grate.Smokemightdevelopwhencharcoalstartsburningandyoushouldthereforewaitabout10to15minutes
before you put any food on thebarbecue.
•
Clean the grate with warm water and washing-up liquid; this will remove dust and wrappingresidues.
•
Place the barbecue on an even, non-slip and drysurface.
•
Undo both clips and remove the grate.
•
Removethecharcoalbasketwithlidandfillbasketwithapprox.0.2kgofcharcoalrightuptothe
upper limit.
•
Do not use any other fuel thancharcoal.
•
Apply an thick ring of fuel paste around the centre of fuel paste tray.
•
Light paste with a match.
•
Turn air regulating control clockwise right up to the stop.
•
Insert charcoal basket with lid onto fuel paste tray.
•
Take care not to burnyourself.
•
Replace the grate and turn it such that the clips align with their counterparts and lock clips.
•
Only place food on the grate once the charcoal is covered with a layer of white ash.
•
Should flames develop while the charcoal is glowing, reduce the intake of air via the air
regulating control. To this end turn it anti-clockwise.
You can now barbecue food on your device.
By using the air regulating control and with a little practice you can regulate the fan speed
and thus the heat. As required you can prepare your food to be crispy or have a softer
texture.

After the barbecue is finished
•
Switch device off once you have finished the barbecue.
To do this, turn air regulating control anti-clockwise up to the stop until it engages.
Thecharcoalwillcarryonglowingforawhileoncetheairsupplyisswitched
off and the device remains very hot. Danger of burning!
•
Wait until charcoal is completely burned down and the barbecue has cooled offcompletely.
•
Undo both clips and lift grate off.
•
Remove charcoal basket with lid.
•
Remove fat drip tray.
•
Remove cold ash and clean barbecue, ideally prior to every use.
•
Use washing-up liquid to clean grate and fat drip pan in your kitchen sink.
Gently beat the charcoal basket with lid and, if necessary, clean with a brush and a dry cloth.
Clean barbecue container with a slightly damp cloth.
•
Use a suitable barbecue brush to remove food residues.
•
Always clean the barbecue with warm washing-up water.
Storage
•
Protect the product from damp and stormyweather.
•
Leavethebarbecuesetcompletelyassembledandputitawayintheprovided-forbagtoprotectit
during storage.
•
Remove batteries if you are not using the barbecue for a longer period of time.
Environment and disposal
•
Keep the barbecue set clean and handle it carefully, also when you want to dispose of itsparts.
•
Dispose of the residual waste only in metal containers or those made of non-flammablematerial.
•
The device may not be disposed of with household waste or bulky waste.
Your local council will tell you where to find the correct collection places or tell you about the times of refuse collection.
•
Batteries do not belong in the household waste. Use the available battery collection containers to dispose of
your batteries.
•
Also dispose of the wrapping material (paper, foil, and plastic) in an environmentally friendlymanner.
Troubleshooting
If your barbecue does not work properly, try to solve the problem by following the advice below to start with. Should you not
be able to rectify the problem with the advice given below, contact our Service Hotline.
