INSTALLATION INFORMATION
• Insert the module into the slot labeled CONTROLLERS
ONLY A or B.
• Connect a VT-100 terminal configured for 9600 baud (8N1) to
the female RJ-48 Admin port on the front of the Controller.
After the Controller has booted, the LOGIN prompt will
appear on the VT-100 terminal (if connected to the active
Controller). Otherwise, a message indicating connection to
the stand-by Controller will be displayed if the VT-100
terminal is so connected.
• Menu access to the active Controller is also available through
the Craft port on the front of the unit.
• To configure the ethernet port, use the arrow keys and Enter
key to navigate the following path:

TOP LEVEL MENU INFORMATION
System Info
The System Info menu provides basic information about the unit as
well as data fields for editing information.
System Status
The System Status menu provides information on the general status
of the unit.
System Configuration
The System Configuration menu allows you to set the
ATLAS 890 operational configuration parameters.
System Utility
The System Utility menu allows you to view and set the system level
parameters that pertain to upgrading, restoring, and testing the unit.
Modules
The Modules menu provides options that allow you to configure,
test, and view status of the installed option modules as well as the
Controller.
Packet Manager
The Packet Manager menu provides options to configure all layer 2
connections, including Frame Relay and PPP endpoints.
Router
The Router menu provides options to define, configure, and monitor
all ATLAS 890 router functions.
Dedicated Maps
The Dedicated Maps menu assigns dedicated cross-connects
between any two ports in the unit.
Circuit Status
The Circuit Status menu provides dial backup functions including
monitoring the status of backup links, manually forcing a backup
switch, and restoring a primary connection.
Dial Plan
The Dial Plan menu allows you to set global ATLAS 890 switch
parameters or set individual parameters for each port in the ATLAS
890 that handles a switched endpoint.
