4. Assemble IO board (PN: 9692622V110) and IO metal
part into an IO module.
5. Remove hold-on bar.
Pre-setup Steps
1. Remove chassis cover.
2. Remove riser cage-1, riser cage-2, and riser cage-3.
3. Remove rear IO metal part.

6. Remove ODD metal part.
7. Install CPU, CPU cooler, DIMM, and M.2 card on
motherboard.
Assembly Steps
1. Install motherboard into chassis.
2. Connect each front system fan to the corresponding
header on motherboard.
3. Insert IO module into the motherboard in chassis.
4. Install UR riser card and LR riser into riser cage-1.
• Use #6-32 posts (PN: 1910004647) to assemble UR riser
card (PN: 9692622V130) and riser cage-1. The lock holes
are H1 and H2 on UR riser.
• Use #6-32 screws (PN: 1930005172) to assemble UR
riser card and riser cage-1. The lock holes are H3, H4,
H5, H6, and H7.

• Use #6-32 screws (PN: 1930005172) to assemble LR
riser card (PN: 9692622V120) and riser cage-1. The lock
holes are H1, H3, H4, and H5 on LR riser card.
• Install PCIe cards.
• Insert riser cage-1 vertically into chassis.
5. Install MID riser card into riser cage-2.
• Use #6-32 screws (PN: 1930005172) to assemble MID
riser card (PN: 9692622V140) and riser cage-2. The lock
holes are H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, and H6.
• Install PCIe cards.
• Insert riser cage-2 vertically into chassis.
6. Install LR riser card into riser cage-3.
• Use #6-32 screws (PN: 1930005172) to assemble LR
riser card and riser cage-3. The lock holes are H1, H2,
H3, H4, H5, and H6.
• Install PCIe cards.

7. Install PSU module.
Cabling Steps
1. Connect the power cable on the top hard drive back-
plane to BP_P2 on motherboard.

2. Connect the power cable on the bottom hard drive
backplane to BP_P1 on motherboard.
3. Connect the front USB cable to USB3_34 on mother-
board.
4. Connect the front panel cable to JFP1 on motherboard.
5. Connect the 8-pin system fan cable behind the hard
drive backplane to SYSFAN3 on motherboard.
6. (a). Install a cable clip (PN: 1990024888S000) on H3
on motherboard.

(b). Install a stand (PN: 193A261100) on H18 on moth-
erboard and install a cable clip (1990024888S000) on
the stand.
7. Connect the SFF-8643 to 4-port SATA cable (PN:
1700032421-01) to each SATA port on hard drive back-
plane from top to bottom.
Connect the SFF-8643 connector of the cable to SFF-
8643 on motherboard.
8. Connect SMBUS cable (PN: 1700032288-01) to
SMBUS1 on motherboard.
9. Connect SGPIO Y-cable (PN: 1700032384-01) to
SGPIO1 on motherboard.

Installing the Server in a Rack
Follow these instructions to mount the HPC 6240+ASMB-
622 into the rackmount kit.
Slide Rail Installation
1. Release the inner rail from the outer rail.
2. Attach the inner rail to the chassis.
Press the release rail against the
chassis, lift the clip (A) and slide
the inner rail toward the chassis
rear (B).
3. Attach the outer rail to the rack.
Lift lever, aim the rack mount pin to the rack post and push
forward.

4. Mount system in rack.
• Be sure the ball bearing retain is locked forward.
• Pull the middle rail out of the outer rail until locked.
• Push system into rack.

Board Layout
1. Read these safety instructions carefully.
2. Keep this User Manual for later reference.
3. Disconnect this equipment from any AC outlet before cleaning. Use a damp cloth. Do not use liquid or spray detergents
for cleaning.
4. For plug-in equipment, the power outlet socket must be located near the equipment and must be easily accessible.
5. Keep this equipment away from humidity.
6. Put this equipment on a reliable surface during installation. Dropping it or letting it fall may cause damage.
7. Do not leave this equipment in an environment unconditioned where the storage temperature under 0° C (32° F) or above
35° C (95° F), it may damage the equipment.
8. The openings on the enclosure are for air convection. Protect the equipment from overheating. DO NOT COVER THE
OPENINGS.
9. Make sure the voltage of the power source is correct before connecting the equipment to the power outlet and with earth
connection. Ensure to connect the power cord to a socket-outlet with earthing connection.
10. Position the power cord so that people cannot step on it. Do not place anything over the power cord.
11. All cautions and warnings on the equipment should be noted.
12. If the equipment is not used for a long time, disconnect it from the power source to avoid damage by transient overvolt-
age.

be obtained with Advantech Service and that all repairs also be carried out by them. Otherwise the correct functioning of

1. To avoid electrical shock, always disconnect the power from your PC chassis before you work on it.

3. Electronic components are also vulnerable to damage by electrostatic discharge. An electrostatic charge can build up on

tronic board by touching a conductive surface on the chassis. Only then remove circuit boards from their anti-static bags.
Handle boards by the edges or mounting brackets only; do not touch components or connecting pins.
