2 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using your telephone, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire,
electric shock and injury, including the following:
1. Read and understand all the instructions.
2. Follow all warnings and instructions marked on the product.
3. Unplug the power adapter from the wall outlet before cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol
cleaners. Use a damp cloth for cleaning.
4. Keep your phone away from hot, humid conditions or strong sunlight and don’t let it get wet or use this
product near water (for example, near a bath tub , kitchen sink, swimming pool).
5. Do not overload wall outlets and extension cords as this can result in the risk of fire or electric shock.
6. Unplug this product from the wall outlet under the following conditions:

tIf the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions.
tIf the product has been dropped and the cabinet has been damaged.

7. NEVER use your phone outdoors during a thunderstorm-unplug the base from the telephone line and
the mains socket when there are storms in your area. Damage caused by lightning is not covered by
the guarantee.
8. Do not use the telephone to report a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
9. Use only the supplied NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries!
10. The use of other battery types or non-rechargeable batteries/primary cells can be dangerous. These
may cause interference and/or damage to the unit or surroundings. The manufacturer will not be held
liable for damage arising from such non-compliance.
11. Do not use third party charging bays. Damage may be caused to the batteries.
12. Please ensure the batteries are inserted in the correct polarity.
13. Dispose of batteries safely. Do not immerse them in water, burn them, or put them where they could
get punctured.

5.2 Cordless handset display (see P2)
The LCD display gives you information on the current status of the telephone.

Steady when the handset is in range of the base.
Flashes when out of range of the base or not registered to the base.
Steady when an intercom call is in progress.
Flashes when there is an incoming internal call.
Indicates a call is in progress on that handset.
Indicates that speakerphone is being used.
Indicates that the handset ringer is switched off.
Steady when an alarm is set.
Flashes when the alarm is sounding.
Indicates that the keypad is locked.
Indicates when you have a new Voice Mail message.
(This is a caller display service from the network operator.)
Indicates when the battery is fully charged.

5.4 Base Station Display
Indicates a call is in progress.

This will display when you are in the phonebook menu.
Indicates when you have a new Voice Mail message. (This is a network service depend
on your operator).
This will display when it is a repeat call.
Indicates the sequence number of the CID record.
This will display when there is a new CID entry or if one is being viewed.

6 INSTALLING YOUR PHONE
6.1 Connecting the corded base station (see P6)
tUse the coiled cord to connect the corded handset to the base station, making sure the plugs are
inserted fully into the sockets on the handset and on the side of the base, until they click in place.
tPlug the power supply cord & phone line cord into the sockets in the back of the base station.
tPlug the power adapter into a 230Vac, 50Hz mains socket and the line cord into your telephone line
socket.
Warning:
Use only the power adapter provided for the base station.
6.2 Installing the cordless handset and charging the batteries (see P3)
tSlide open the battery compartment cover from the back of the handset.
tPlace the 2 supplied batteries into the battery compartment with the polarity markings as indicated.
tSlide the battery compartment cover back until it clicks into place.
tPut the cordless handset on the charger and charge for 15hours before using the handset for the first
time.
>The handset will give a beep when it is properly placed on the charger.
Warning:
Use only NiMH rechargeable batteries.
7 USING YOUR PHONE
Using the cordless handset:
7.1 Make a call
7.1.1 Preparatory dialling
tEnter the phone number and press to connect to the line and dial the number.
>When entering the number, if you make a mistake, press “C” ( ) to delete digits.
7.1.2 Direct dialling
tPress to connect to the line and then enter the phone number.
Note:
If you enter a wrong digit you cannot correct it with the “C” ( ) key.
7.1.3 Call from the phonebook
tPress , , to access the phonebook and press /to select the desired phonebook entry.
tPress to dial out the selected phonebook entry.
Note:
The alphanumeric keys provide a short-cut to find entries beginning with the corresponding letters.
7.1.4 Call from the call list (only available with caller display)
tPress to access the call list and press /to select the desired call list entry.
tPress to dial out the selected call list entry.
7.1.5 Call from the redial list
tPress to access the redial list and press /to select the desired redial number.
tPress to dial out the selected redial number.
7.1.6 Call timer
Your handset automatically times the duration of every call.

The call timer is displayed as soon as you answer a call or 15seconds after dialling and remains on the
screen for 5seconds after the end of the call.
It is shown in hours, minutes and seconds format (HH:MM:SS).
7.2 Answer a call
If the handset is not on the charging cradle:
tWhen the phone rings, press to answer a call.
Note:
If “AUTO ANSWER” is set to “ON”, then lifting the handset off the base or charger will answer the call
automatically and no keys need to be pressed.
7.3 End a call
tDuring a call press to end the call.
OR
tPut the handset on the base station or charger to end the call.
7.4 Handset speakerphone
During a call, you can press to alternate between hands-free speakerphone and normal handset use.
7.5 Adjust volume
There are 5levels (“VOLUME 1” to “VOLUME 5”) to choose from for each of the earpiece and speaker
volumes.
During a call:
tPress /to select volume 1-5. The current setting is shown.
>When you end the call, the setting will remain at the last selected level.
7.6 Mute a call
You can talk to someone nearby without letting the caller hear you during a call.
During a call:
Press “C” ( ) to mute the microphone and “MUTED” will display on the LCD.
Your caller cannot hear you. Press “C” ( ) again to unmute the microphone.
7.7 Turn off the handset ringer
In idle, press and hold #to turn off the handset ringer. The icon is displayed on the LCD.
Note:
The display will still flash the call icon and show “CALL” or the caller display number, when there is an
incoming call, even if the ringer is turned off.
To turn the ringer back on, press and hold #again.
7.8 Turn on the keypad lock
You can lock the keypad so that it cannot be used accidentally while carrying it around.
tIn idle, press and hold *to turn on the keypad lock and the

Note:
You can still use to answer a call when the handset is ringing.
To turn the keypad lock off, press and hold *again.
7.9 Redial the last number
You can redial any of the 5last numbers called. If you have stored a name in phonebook to go with the
number, the name will be displayed instead.
The most recent last number will display at the top of the redial list.
7.9.1 Redial a number from the redial list
tIn idle mode, press to access the redial list.

Note:
If the redial list entry shows a name, press # to view the number of this entry.
tPress /to browse the redial list.
tPress to dial to the selected redial number.
Note:
If there are no numbers in the redial list, the display shows “EMPTY ”.
Using the corded base:
7.10 Make an External Call
7.10.1 Preparatory dialling
Enter the phone number and lift up the corded handset or press to dial the number. When entering the
number, if you make a mistake, press to delete digits.
Note:
To insert a pause in the dialling sequence, press and hold the < 0 > button, the screen will then show a
“P” in the number.
Press Rto insert a flash signal and the screen will show a “F”.
7.10.2 Direct dialling
Lift up the corded handset or press to connect to the line and then enter the phone number.
7.10.3 Call from the phonebook
Press to access the phonebook and press /to select the desired phonebook entry.
Lift the corded handset or press to dial out the selected phonebook entry.
7.10.4 Call from the call list
Press to access the Call List and press /to select the desired Call List entry. Lift up the corded
handset or press to dial out the selected Call List number.
7.10.5 Call from the redial list
Press to access the redial list and press /to select the desired redial number. Lift up the handset
or press to dial out the selected redial number.
7.10.6 Call timer
Your base display automatically times the duration of every call. The call timer appears on the display as
soon as a call is answered or about 15seconds after dialling, and remains on the screen for a few seconds
after the end of the call. It is shown in hours, minutes and seconds format (HH:MM:SS).
7.11 Answer a Call
When there is an incoming ring, pick up the handset or press to answer the call.
7.12 End a Call
During a call connection, put the corded handset on the base station to end the call.
Or press if you have a call in handsfree mode.
7.13 Adjust Earpiece and Handsfree Volume
There are 5levels (“VOLUME 1“ to “VOLUME 5“) to choose from for each of the earpiece and speaker
volumes.
During a call:
Press /to increase or decrease the volume level respectively.
The current setting is shown. When you end the call, the settings will remain at the last selected level.
7.14 Mute a Call
You can talk to someone nearby without letting the caller hear you during a call.
During a call:

Press to mute the microphone and “MUTED ” is displayed on the display. Your caller cannot hear you.
Press again to unmute the microphone. “MUTED“ will be replaced by “LINE IN USE” on the display,
and the caller will be able to hear you again.
7.15 Emergency Call without Mains Power
The corded base unit can make an emergency call with the corded handset when the mains AC power is
disconnected.
Pick up the corded handset and wait for the dial tone and then enter the phone number to make a call.
Note:
It is not possible to dial numbers from memories or use the speakerphone when the mains power is off.
When the mains power is off, you can also answer an incoming call with the corded handset.
When the phone rings, pick up the corded handset to talk to the caller.
7.16 Redial
You can redial any of the last 10 numbers called. If you have stored a name in the phonebook to go with
the number, the name will be displayed as well.
7.16.1 Redial a Number from the Redial List
In idle mode, press to view the redial list.
Note:
The redial list can also be viewed using then selecting “CALL LOG“ and “DIALED“.
1. Press /to browse the redial list.
2. Pick up the corded handset or press to dial the selected redial number.
Note:
If no numbers are in the redial list, the display will show “EMPTY“.
7.17 Make an Internal Call
This feature allows you to make internal calls, transfer external calls. If the called base or handset is not
answered within 60 seconds, the called base or handset will stop ringing and the calling one will return to
standby mode.
7.17.1 Intercom
Using the cordless handset:
1. In idle mode, press “C” ( ) and all the other registered handset numbers will display, along with a
„7“ and a „9“.
2. Enter < 7 > to call the base or enter the number of the handset that you want to call, or enter „9“ to
call all handsets and the base.
3. The called base rings and the corded handset must be lifted off the base to establish the internal call.
OR
3. The called handset rings and must be pressed on that handset to establish the intercom call.
Note:
If only one handset is registered to the base station, pressing “C” ( ) will call the base immediately.
Note:
If there is an external call while you are on an intercom call, you‘ll hear warning beeps, and you have to end
the intercom call, before you can answer the external call.
Using the corded base:
1. In idle mode, press and the registered handset numbers will display, along with a „9“.
2. Enter the handset number you want to call, or press „9“ to call all handsets.
3. The called handset rings. Press on the called handset to establish the internal call.

7.17.2 Transfer an External Call
Using the cordless handset:
During an external call:
1. Press to show “INTERCOM“.
2. Press to show all the other registered handset numbers, plus “9”. Enter the number for the handset
you want to transfer the call to.
3. The external call is put on hold automatically and the called handset rings.
4. Press on the called handset to establish an internal call.
5. Press on the calling handset or put the calling handset on the charging cradle to end the current call
with the external party.
6. The external call is transferred to the called handset.
Note:
If the other handset has not answered the intercom call, you can stop the intercom and return to the
external call by pressing .
Using the corded base:
During an external call:
1. Press to show all the other registered handset numbers, plus a „9“.
2. Enter the number for the handset you want to transfer the call to.
The external call is put on hold automatically and the called handset rings.
3. Press on the called handset to establish an internal call.
4. Replace the corded handset on to the base, or press if in speakerphone mode, to end the current
call with the external party.
5. The external call is transferred to the called handset.
8 PRIVATE PHONEBOOK
Your phone can store up to 50 private phonebook entries with names and numbers in each handset and 50
entries in the base. Each phonebook entry can have a maximum of 20 digits for a handset phone number
or 24 digits for a base phone number, and 12 characters for the name. You can also select different
ringtones for your phonebook entries. (Note: the different ringtones only play when you receive a call if
you subscribe to Caller Display and the incoming number matches the stored number.) Phonebook entries
are stored alphabetically by name.
Using the cordless handset:
8.1 Add a new phonebook entry
In idle:
tPress and /to select “PHONEBOOK” and then press to access the phonebook.
tPress to show “ADD”.
tPress and then enter the name.
tPress and then enter the number.
tPress and /to select the desired ringtone for your phonebook entry.
tPress to store the phonebook entry.
Using the corded base:
8.2 Add a new entry
In idle:
1. Press to show “PHONEBOOK“.
2. Press then /to show “ADD“ .
3. Press and the display will show the cursor at the beginning of the name position.
4. Key in the name using the digit keys (maximum 12 characters). If you make any mistakes, press to
delete the last character.
5. Press and the cursor will move to the number position.

6. Key in the number using the digit keys (maximum 24 digits). If you make any mistakes, press to delete
the last digit.
7. Press to show “MELODY 1“.
Use /to scroll through the melodies (there are 10 melodies to choose from).
8. Press to confirm the melody and store the entry in the phonebook.
Note:
If there is no more space in the phonebook, “PB FULL” will appear on the display.
9 CALLER DISPLAY (NETWORK DEPENDENT)
This feature is available if you have subscribed to the Caller Display service with your network service
provider. Your phone can store up to 20 received calls with date/time information in the base and cordless
handset Call Lists. The number will be shown on the handset and base displays when the phone is ringing.
If the number matches with one of the entries in your base and/or handset Phonebook, the caller’s name
stored in that phonebook will be displayed alternately with the number on the handset, and with the
number on the base.
The handset and base will ring with the melody associated with that phonebook entry.
If the call is from someone who withheld their number, “WITHHELD “ will display.
If the call is from someone whose number is unavailable, e.g. an international call or from a private
exchange,”OUT OF AREA “ will display.
If you’ve got new Caller Display records, the handset will display “X NEW CALLS” in standby mode, where
X is the number of new calls, and the base will show “NEW X” at the top right of the display.
Using the cordless handset:
9.1 View the call list
All received calls are saved in the call list with the latest call at the top of the list. When the call list is full, the
oldest call will be replaced by a new call. Any unanswered calls which have not been viewed are marked
with a

icon at the centre of the bottom line of the display.
tPress to access the call list.
OR Press and /to show “CALL LIST”, then press .
tPress /to select the desired entry.
tPress #to view the caller’s number if applicable.
tPress , /to show “DETAILS”, and then to display the date and time of the call.
tPress to go back to the previous screen.
Using the corded base:
9.2 View the call log and/or call list
Calls are saved in the Call Log, with all calls in the RECEIVED list but only unanswered calls in the MISSED
list and in the Call List, with the latest call at the top of the list. When the call list is full, the oldest call will
be replaced by a new call. Any unanswered call which has not been read is marked with the icon when
viewed, and the number of new calls is shown at the top right of the screen in idle mode.
tPress to see the most recent Missed call record from the Call Log.
OR Press , then /to show “CALL LOG”, then to show “MISSED”, and press to see the most
recent Missed call record in the Call Log, or press /again to to show “RECEIVED” and then press
to see the most recent Received call in the Call Log.
tPress /to scroll through the appropriate list.

Your phone comes with a selection of settings that you can change to personalise your phone the way
you like it to work.

Using the cordless handset:
10.1 Set the handset language
tPress and /to select “HS SETTINGS”.
tPress and /to select “LANGUAGE”.
tPress and /to select the desired language.
tPress to confirm.
10.2 Set the Auto Answer
If you turn on the Auto Answer, you can answer a call automatically by just lifting the handset off the base
or charger, without having to press any key.
tPress and /to select “HS SETTINGS“.
tPress and /to select “AUTO ANSWER“.
tPress and /to turn on or off the auto answer feature.
tPress to confirm.
10.3 Base Settings
10.3.1 Set the base language
In Idle:
tPress and /to select “LANGUAGE“.
tPress and /to select your desired language.
tPress to confirm.
10.3.2 Reset your phone
You can reset your phone to the default settings. After a reset, all your personal settings, call list entries,
redial list entries, and answering machine messages will be deleted but your phonebook remains
unchanged:
tPress and /to select “DEFAULT“.
tPress to display “PIN?-----”.
tEnter the 4-digit system “PIN“ (default 0000).
tPress to display “CONFIRM?“
tPress to confirm, and the phone will be reset to its default settings.
10.3.3 Base default
You can reset all of your base settings to their default settings. After a reset, all your personal base settings,
call list entries, redial list entries, direct memory entries, and answering messages will be deleted, but any
phonebook entries will be kept:
tPress and /to select “SETTINGS“.
tPress and /to select “BS DEFAULT“.
tPress and display will show “PIN?”, enter the 4-digit PIN (default setting is 0000).
tPress to confirm, and base will return to the previous menu.
11 HANDSET REGISTRATION
Important:
When you purchase your phone system, all cordless handsets are already registered to your base, so you
do not need to register them.
Handset registration is only necessary when you buy extra cordless handsets or if a cordless handset has
become faulty.
You can register additional cordless handsets to have up to 5handsets per base unit, with each handset’s
number (1 to 5) shown on its display.
A cordless handset can be registered to only one base at a time.
To check whether a handset is registered, make sure mains power to the base unit is switched on and the
handset is within range. The handset’s display should show its number and the icon should be steadily
on. If the display shows “REGISTER ”, you need to register the handset again using the following process:

tOn the base station, press and /to show “REGISTRATION“, and then press to put the base
station into registration mode. The base display will show “PLEASE WAIT” and the base will stay in
registration mode for about 2 minutes, so the following handset sequence must be completed within
this time.
tPress and /to select “REGISTRATION“.
tPress to display “PIN?----“.
tEnter the 4-digit system PIN (default is 0000).
tPress to confirm, and the display will show “PLEASE WAIT“ flashing.
If the handset registration is successful, the display will change to standby mode with the new handset
number and the icon will stop flashing.
The handset will automatically be allocated the next available handset number. If the handset registration
is unsuccessful, the icon will still flash.
12 GUARANTEE AND SERVICE
The phone is guaranteed for 24 months from the date of purchase shown on your sales receipt. This
guarantee does not cover any faults or defects caused by accidents, misuse, fair wear and tear, neglect,
faults on the telephone line, lightning, tampering with the equipment, or any attempt at adjustment or
repair other than through approved agents.
Please keep your sales (till) receipt this is your proof of guarantee.
12.1 While the unit is under Guarantee
tDisconnect the base unit from the telephone line and the mains electricity supply.
tPack up all parts of your phone system, using the original package.
tReturn the unit to the shop where you bought it, making sure you take your sales receipt.
tRemember to include the mains adapter.
12.2 After the Guarantee has expired
If the unit is no longer under Guarantee, contact us via www.aegtelephones.eu
This product works with rechargeable batteries only. If you put nonrechargeable batteries in the handset
and place it on the base, the handset will be damaged and this in NOT covered under the warranty
conditions.

2 WICHTIGE SICHERHEITSANWEISUNGEN
Beim Gebrauch Ihres Telefons sollten die grundlegenden Sicherheitsvorkehrungen befolgt werden, um

6 INSTALLATION IHRES TELEFONS
6.1 Die Basisstation anschließen (siehe P6)
tMit dem Spiralkabel verbinden Sie das schnurgebundene Telefon mit der Basisstation. Bitte achten
Sie darauf, dass die zwei Kabelstecker des Spiralkabels korrekt am Telefon und an der Basisstation
angeschlossen sind. Die Stecker rasten mit einem Klicken hörbar ein.
tSchließen Sie das Netzkabel und das Telefonanschlusskabel an die Buchsen auf der Rückseite der
Basisstation an.
tStecken Sie den Netzadapter in eine 230 V/50 Hz-Steckdose und das Telefonanschlusskabel in den
Telefonwandanschluss.
Achtung:
Benutzen Sie nur den Netzadapter, der mit der Basisstation mitgeliefert wurde.
6.2 Installation des Mobilteils und Aufladen der Akkus (siehe P3)
tÖffnen Sie die Akkufachabdeckung auf der Rückseite des Mobilteils.
tLegen Sie die beiden mitgelieferten Akkus in das Akkufach gemäß den Polaritätsmarkierungen ein.
tSchließen Sie die Akkufachabdeckung wieder, so dass sie mit einem hörbaren Klicken einrastet.
tStellen Sie das Mobilteil auf die Basisstation und laden Sie es vor dem ersten Gebrauch 15Stunden auf.
>Das Mobilteil wird einen Piepton abgeben, wenn es auf der Basisstation ordnungsgemäß aufliegt.
Achtung:
Benutzen Sie nur nachladbare NiMH-Akkus.

Ziffer zu löschen.

tDrücken Sie , um die Verbindung zum Telefonnetz herzustellen und geben Sie die Telefonnummer ein.

Wenn Sie eine falsche Ziffer eingeben, können Sie sie mit der Taste “C” ( ) korrigieren.
