The
unit
is
suitable
for
wall
mounting
or
housing
in
a
horizontal
position.
Ensure
that
it
is
mounted
so
as
to
be
readily
accessible,
near
a
plug
socket.
Vertical
distance

Push
in
surplus
cable
and
connect
charger
to
plug
socket.
Using
the
vacuum
cleaner
Check
that
your
supply
voltage
is
the
same
as
that
stated
on
the
rating
plate
of
the
charger.
Push
rechargeable
vacuum
cleaner
into
the
wall
unit
until
it
can
be
felt
engaging.
A
charging
time
of
approx.
24
hours
is
necessary
before
using
the
cleaner
for
the
first
time
or
if
the
cleaner
ist
to
be
used
for
its
max.
cleaning
time.
There
is
no
danger
of
overcharging
the
battery
cells.
The
appliance
should
be
left
permanently
on
the
charger
when
not
in
use.
If
the
battery,
when
fully
charged,
lasts
less
than
8
minutes,
this
may
be
due
to
some
resistance
to
charging,
which
builds
up
whenever
your
vacuum
cleaner
ist
being
used
for
a
short
time
only.
In
such
a
case,
you
should
charge
the
battery
fully
and
then
use
the
vacuum
cleaner
until
the
battery
is
completely
flat.
Then
recharge
the
battery.
Repeat
the
process
if
necessary.
important:
Avoid
charging
your
vacuum
cleaner
when
the
room
temperature
is
below
0°C
or
above
40°C.
The
charger
gets
warm
during
the
charging
cycle.
This
is
completely
normal.
The
red
charge
pilot
light
will
remain
on
as
long
as
the
battery
vacuum
cleaner
is
suspended
in
the
wall
mounting
(Model
JUNIOR:
no
charge
pilot
light).

beat
out
dirt.

soapy

dustbag
is
completely

cleaner

the
charging
unit
must

checked

replaced.

The
AEG
cordless
vacuum
cleaner
is
equipped
with
nickel-cadmium
batteries
containing
compo-
nents
which
can
harm
the
environment.
if
the
batteries
have
to
be
replaced,
we
recommend
that
this
should
be
carried
out
by
the
dealer
or
the
AEG
Service
Centre
as
this
will
guarantee
that
the
old
batteries
are
disposed
of
in
a
manner
which
does
a
minimum
of
harm
to
the
environment.

Removing
the
battery:
after
removing
the
filter,
take
the
retaining
rubber
band
off
and
remove
the
two
contact
caps
from
the
contact
tags
on
the
battery.
Even
if
you
replace
the
batte-
ries
yourself,
the
old
ones
must
still
be
disposed
of
properly.
They
must
on no
account
find
their
way
into
the
ordinary
dust-bin,
nor
must
the
appli-
ance
if
old
batteries
are
still
inside
it.
Please
handle
the
battery
carefully
-
there
may
be
a
small
residual
charge
in
it
which
could
cause
damage
if
its
contacts
are
bridged
together.
It
is
therefore
advisable
to
transport
the
battery
ina
plastic
bag.
There
are
two
possible
ways
of
disposing
of
it:

Take
it
to
the
toxic
waste
disposal
facility
provi-
ded
by
your
local
authority.
@
Hand
it
in
at
one
of
the
AEG
Service
Centres.
For
the
sake
of
the
environment
Do
not
throw
away
packing
material.
@
The
cardboard
box
can
be
taken
to
paper
recycling
facilities.
@
Plastic
bag
made
of
polyethylene
(PE)
can
be
taken
to
recycling
facilities
of
PE
collection
depots.
@
The
filter
parts
are
made
of
Polystrene
(PS).
They
do
not
contain
any
CFCs.
Your
local
Department
for
the
Environment
will
be
able
to
give
you
advice
as
to
where
collecting
depots
and
recycling
facilities
are
available.
