Thank you very much for purchasing your Aellana ring sling carrier. In this instruction
manual, we explain how to wear your ring sling and how to ensure the safety of your child.
We know that using a ring sling can feel a bit overwhelming at rst. It takes a little bit of
practice, but it is so worth it and you will notice that it gets easier each time you wear your
sling. If you read and follow our instructions in this manual, watch the instructional videos
on our website, and give it some practice, you will carry your baby condently in no time.
We recommend practicing when you and your child are relaxed and in a good mood.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate and send us an email. If there are any issues
with your sling or you see defects, please do not use the sling and inform us immediately
via email.

TIGHT
The sling should be tight enough to hold your
baby close to you as this will be most
comfortable for you both. Any slack/loose fabric
will allow your baby to slump down in the carrier
which can hinder their breathing and pull on
your back.
IN VIEW AT ALL TIMES
You should always be able to see your baby’s face
by simply glancing down. The fabric of the sling
should never cover your baby’s face. Your baby’s
face should not be turned in towards your body.
Ensure that the airways of your baby are clear at
all times so that your baby can breathe.
CLOSE ENOUGH TO KISS
Your baby’s head should be as close to your chin
as is comfortable. By tipping your head forward
you should be able to kiss your baby on the head
or forehead.
Wear your baby safely
T.I.C.K.S. Rule for safe baby wearing
Please, exercise caution when using your sling. Make sure that you wear your ring sling correctly and
ensure that your child is safe at all times. Failure to follow instructions can result in death or serious
injury. The safety of your child is your responsibility and the use of Aellana’s ring sling is at your own risk.
We are not responsible for any injuries or issues our ring sling may cause.

KEEP CHIN OFF THE CHEST
A baby should never be carried so their chin is
forced onto their chest as this can restrict their
breathing. Ensure there is always a space of at
least a nger width under your baby’s chin.
Ensure that the airways of your baby are clear at
all times so that your baby can breathe.
SUPPORTED BACK
A baby should be held comfortably close to the
wearer so their back is supported in its natural
position and their tummy and chest are against
you. If a sling is too loose they can slump which
can close their airways.

Threading Your Sling
Your Ring Sling
Always check your ring sling for ripped seams and fabric and damaged hardware before
each use. Never use the sling if parts are missing or damaged.
Drape the rings over your left or right
shoulder. Spread the fabric over your
shoulder. Drape the fabric across your
back and hold the top rail.
Grab the end of the tail. Make sure the
wrap isn’t twisted. Ensure the fabric is
evenly spread and at across your back.
RINGS
Lightweight
aluminium rings
END OF TAIL
This is the end
of your sling.
TOP RAIL
The top rail will be positioned
along the top of your baby’s
back and under their neck.
BOTTOM RAIL
The bottom rail will be positioned
under your baby’s bottom and at
the back of their knees.
POCKET
You can nd our warning and care
label inside the pocket at the end of
your sling.

Threading Your Sling
Hold the end of the tail and fold the fabric
of the tail together.
Ensure that the sling is not twisted. The
fabric should be spread evenly across
your back.
Pull the entire tail through the bottom of
both rings to the desired length.
Gather the end of the tail again. Seperate
the rings. Pull the fabric over the top ring,
go straight through the middle, and bring
the whole tail through the bottom ring.

Threading Your Sling
Make sure the fabric is evenly spread through
the rings without twists. To remove twists,
pull the fabric a little bit out of the rings and
nger walk through the fabric (the fabric
within the rings) to remove the twists and
nd the edges of both rails within the rings.
After removing the twists, pull the top,
middle, and bottom rail to tighten your sling.
Your sling is now threaded.
Find the right position of the rings on your
shoulder. The rings should rest high on your
shoulder because when you put your baby in,
the rings will come down. The pouch, where
you will carry your baby, should be at hip
height. Adjust the rails by pulling the top,
middle, and bottom rail. Pulling the top rail,
should tighten the top of your pouch. The
bottom rail should tighten the bottom of
your sling pouch.

Tummy to tummy carry
Always check your ring sling for ripped seams and fabric and damaged hardware before each use. Never
use the sling if parts are missing or damaged. Only use the sling with children weighing between 8 and
35 pounds.
You have threaded your sling
in the previous steps. It’s now
time to setup the sling before
you pick up your baby. The
rings should rest high on your
shoulder and the fabric
spread over your shoulder.
The fabric should not be
twisted in the rings. The
pouch, where you will carry
your baby, should be at hip
height.
Prepare your baby’s seat. Put
your elbow (use arm
opposite rings) in the pouch
to see where your baby’s
bottom will be. Adjust the
rails by pulling the top,
middle, and bottom rail to
prepare your baby’s seat.
Pulling the top rail, should
tighten the top of your
pouch. The bottom rail
should tighten the bottom of
the pouch.
Before you pick up your baby,
make sure that your baby is
not overdressed as your body
heat could make your child
feel too warm. Pick up your
baby. Bring your baby safely
high on your shoulder in
burp position (shoulder
opposite side of the rings).
Go with your hand (hand on
the rings side) underneath
the fabric and grab both your
baby’s feet.

Tummy to tummy carry
Grab your baby’s feet and guide them
slowly through the pouch. Always hold
your baby tightly and safely.
Allow your baby to “sit” on the fabric by
pulling the fabric underneath your baby’s
bottom and spreading your baby’s legs.
Always hold your baby tightly and closely
to ensure your baby’s safety.
Hold your baby tightly and safely with
one hand. With the other hand, pull the
top rail up over the back of your baby,
until their neck. For newborns, be sure to
bring the fabric up to the nape of their
neck to support their little head.
Create a deep seat for your baby by
taking the bottom rail and pulling it up
between you and your baby. You can take
your hand under your baby’s bottom and
pull up the material between your baby’s
legs. Always make sure that you hold your
baby tightly and safely. Your baby’s knees
should be bent and their bottom should
be lower than their knees.

Tummy to tummy carry
Tighten the sling. Move all slack in the direction
of the rings while giving your baby full support
and ensuring the safety of your child. Keep the
rings in the right position on your shoulder, right
below your collarbone.
While moving all slack towards the rings, pull the
top, middle, and bottom rail. Lift your baby’s
weight a little bit while tightening. Keep
adjusting until you have lost all slack in the
pouch. The fabric should never be loose. Always
give your baby full support while adjusting.
Tighten the bottom rail by pulling it in the
direction as shown. A tight sling ensures a high
and rm hold. Do not tighten the sling so much
that your baby’s breathing could be restricted.
Keep adjusting the rails until your baby is fully
secure. Ensure that your baby has a deep seat.
Ensure that the fabric of the sling is under your
baby’s bottom and reaching from behind the
back of both of your baby’s knees.

Tummy to tummy carry
Your baby should, at all times, feel comfortable and safe in the sling. If not, please remove your child
safely from the sling and try again.
The last step: a safety checklist. Ensure that your baby’s
face is always above the fabric and their airways (nose and
mouth) should be clear at all times. You should be able to
comfortably kiss your baby’s head. The sling fabric should
be tight across your baby’s back and bottom, but not so
tight that it restricts your baby’s breathing. Make sure your
baby’s knees are bent. Your baby’s bottom should be
lower than their knees. The rings should be right below
your collarbone and the fabric capped over your shoulder.
Always ensure the safety of your child in the sling. Keep
your baby in view at all times. Keep one hand on your
baby while moving.

- Never wear your baby facing out or reclined.
- Do not tighten the sling so much that your baby’s breathing could be restricted.
