Installation Guide
CAUTION:
Do not use systems on untreated well water that
is microbiologically unsafe.
Do not exceed 125 psi water pressure.
Do not exceed 110F water temperature.
Do not subject unit to freezing conditions.
All plumbing must be in compliance with local
and state plumbing codes.
STEP 1
Determine a suitable location for the HF 300 water
filtration system. The chosen location should provide
you adequate access to service the water filter. Ensure
that the location is beyond the main water supply
control valve with access to the water lines that feed
the home.
STEP 2 (Important)
Place the HF 300 in position and slowly fill the tank using
a sanitary water source, such as a hose, until the tank is
3/4 filled with water to “wet” or soak the media.
INSTALLATION (Follow Steps 1 - 14)
Do this first upon arrival

STEP 4
Release water pressure by opening faucets at the
kitchen sink.

STEP 5
NOTE: 1” and 3/4” quick connect fittings are provided.
•Install fittings on the by-pass by removing the red
locking clip(s).
•Lubricate the o-ring on the quick connect fitting
before inserting into the by-pass.
•Return the red locking clip(s) to secure the fitting.
STEP 6
Make the necessary plumbing connections to the incoming
water supply line.
NOTE: Look for arrow modeled into the valve body for flow
direction, pointing into the valve is IN.
CAUTION: Allow time for glued connections to cure before proceeding.

STEP 3
Shut off the main water supply valve to the home.

STEP 7
Turn the by-pass valves to the “OFF” position (red valves)
pointing “across” the valve (as shown).

STEP 8
With the faucet still on, open the main water supply valve.
STEP 9 CAUTION: Inspect all plumbing connections. Check for leaks and make repairs as needed. !
STEP 10
Open the outlet side of the bypass (Fig. 6).
STEP 11
Slowly open the inlet of the by-pass valve a ¼ turn at a time.
STEP 12
With water flowing at the faucet continue to slowly
open the inlet valve until it is completely open.
STEP 13 (Important)
Leave the faucet open for a minimum of five to ten minutes after
the water runs clear. This last step will flush loose particles from
the carbon filter.
STEP 14 System is ready for service. Check for leaks and
repair as needed.
