Safety Precautions
Laser Precautions
Warning: The laser light used to transmit information over optical ber cables can cause severe eye
damage. Because this light is invisible, it will not cause the iris of the eye to contract involuntarily as when
viewing a bright visible light, and no pain is felt as the retina is burned.
Never look into the end of a ber or connector which may have a laser coupled to it. Should accidental
eye exposure to laser light be suspected, arrange for an eye examination immediately.
General Precautions
Personnel must be thoroughly familiarized with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S)
regulations, local regulations, and your company safety practices and policies.
Warning: To reduce the chance of accidental injury:
Before work begins, all personnel must be thoroughly familiar with the operation of all equipment
and procedures to be used during the installation.
Before use, all equipment, especially safety gear, must be inspected and tested for proper operation.
Replace and repair as necessary.

Installation Process Mount Backboard into
Cabinet
Slot studs into back panel - no tools required.

Push on blowing indicator (not supplied).

Always install ducts from rear to front. Cut ducts
to length and clip into position (use a cable tie
to straighten out duct as required).

Micro Duct Installation
Network Cable (In) (typically 144f) Network Cable (Out) to L4
20mm approx.

Network Cable Preparation and Dressing
Install network cable, minimum 10m overlength (gas block not supplied).
Adjust Network Distribution Cable Tie Point as appropriate
Mark off strip point.

Prepare cable according to cable manufacturer’s guidelines.
Secure cable to strain tie point and tie off duct.

Cut 3mm tubing to appropriate length
(not supplied).

Push tube stem into gas block and tighten.

Slide over 5-3mm tube stem (not supplied).

Install 12f Blown Cable
Install cable (minimum overlength 3m), remove
blowing indicator, , and install gas block.

Feed cable into tray, strip jacket, and dress ber.

Push tube into stem coupler.

Feed cable into bottom of tubing.

Feed tubing through manager - load rear to
front.
