1 Introduction
You have just purchased an AviTrac® sound scare off device and its ManTrac® option. Reading this instruction
manual will help you get the most out of your device. Please comply with the instructions in this manual and keep it in
a safe place for future reference.
This document describes the steps for assembling and programming the ManTrac® option, compatible with the
AviTrac® range of sound scare off devices. This manual must be reviewed after reading the AviTrac® operating
instructions.

1.2 Warnings and first use
It is necessary to fully recharge your AviTrac® scare off device before first use. To do this, charge it on 220V mains for
about ten hours.
In order to avoid damaging the battery, be careful not to let it run down completely.
When the device is in operation every day, with the ManTrac® option, charge the device fully every 10 days.
We are reminding you that the battery is not under warranty.
To turn off your AviTrac® scare off device for storage or winter storage:
Charge the battery fully.
Disable the "programmable" and "brightness" alarms (chapter IV, Paragraph 3 of the AviTrac® operating
instructions)
The AviTrac® scare off device should be used with caution in the presence of nearby flocks and herds as distress
signals can create unanticipated reactions with some animals.
The sound scare off device can emit sound signals up to 120 dBA within 1 meter. It is essential not to stay in front of
the loudspeaker(s) when it is transmitting at maximum power.
To avoid the habituation effect, be sure to move the unit regularly from its place, even a few meters.
It is advisable to combine several scaring off methods (kites, scaring balloons...) to make the threat as realistic as
possible, especially when the pressure from birds is very high. Finally, sound and visual scaring off is more
effective when used preventively.
The ManTrac® fabric is strong, however, be careful not to submit it to strong winds (more than 50 km/h), to prevent it
from tearing or loosening off from the system. In addition, strong winds limit the effectiveness of the ManTrac®
because they prevent it from spreading out properly.
