1. Read and Follow Instructions - All the safety and
operation instructions should be read before the product
is operated. Follow all operating instructions.
2. Retain Instructions-The safety and operation instructions
should be retained for future reference.

operating instructions should be adhered to.

5. Accessories-Do not place this product on an unstable
cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table, the product may fall,
causing serious injury to a child or adult as well as
serious damage to the product. Use this product only with
a cart, stand tripod, bracket, or table recommended by
the manufacturers or sold with the product. Any mounting
of the product should follow the manufacturers
instructions and use of a mounting accessory
recommended by the manufacturer.
A product and cart combination should be moved with
care. Quick stops. excessive force, and uneven surfaces
may cause the product and car combination to overturn.

6. Ventilation-Slots and openings in the case are provided for
ventilation to ensure reliable operation of the product and
to protect it from over heating. These openings must not
the blocked or covered. The openings should never be
blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or
other similar surface. This product should not be placed

unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturers
instructions have been adhered to.

not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines,
other electric light or power circuits, or where it can
fall into such power lines or circuits. hen installing
an outside antenna system, extreme care should be
taken to keep from touching or approaching such
power lines or circuits, as contact with them might
be fatal. Installing an outdoor antenna can be
hazardous and should be left to a professional antenna
installer.

a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and
unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall
outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system.
This will prevent damage to the product due to
lightning and power line surges.
13. Object and Liquid Entry- Never push objects of any
kind into this product through openings as they may
touch dangerous voltage points do short-out parts
could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill
liquid of any kind on the product.
14. Servicing-Do not attempt to service this product
yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose
you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all
servicing to qualified service personnel.
15. Overloading-Do not overload wall outlets or extension
cords as this can result in a risk of fire or electric
shock.
16. Damage Requiring Service-Unplug this product from
the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service
personnel under the following conditions:
a) When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.
b) If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into
the product.
c) If the product has been exposed to rain or water.
d) If the product does not operate normally by
following the operating instructions. Adjust only

The player has built in copyright protection technology that
prevents copying from a DVD disc to any media.
If a video recorder is connected to the player, the video
output image will be distorted during recording.
Some features contained in this DVD player are related to
the DVD disc s software.
Some features cannot be performed if the disc does not
support the feature, or requires special settings.

About MP3
MP3 (MPEG 1, Audio Layer 3) i a digital audio
format for quick downloading file that ound a
good a CD . MP3 u e entropy encoding to
reduce the number of redundant ound in an
audio ignal to a minimum. It take mu ic from a
CD and reduce it by a factor of 12, with no
noticeable lo of quality. On a normal CD of 74
minute you can tore over 130 ong .
Disc information
Sampling rate hould be 44.1 kHz and bit rate i
recommended within the range from 128 Kbp to
256 Kbp , in order to achieve the be t
performance. In general, higher quality etting
re ult in larger file ize .
Tips for makin a ood MP3 CD
* System Requirement (Recommended):
IBM P or compatible 200 MHz or faster
Windows 95/98/ME/XP/NT/2000 32MB RAM 205 MB
free hard disk space (at least 140 MB of this space
must reside on the system boot drive)
D-Recordable or D-ReWritable driver Windows
compatible sound card 16-bit or better (optional).
* Using a good quality D-RW disc. D-R Gold Ultima
is recommended. Up to 650 MB (74-minute D) or
700 MB (80-minute D) of MP3 files can be recorded.
* Select a high quality and stable D Recorder (Writer).
HP D-Write+9200 is recommended.
* Select an advanced D burning software. Easy D
reator 4.0 or higher version is recommended.
* MP3 is data and not WAV information as such Mode
1 must be selected when compiling and burning your
discs.
* Drag and drop (Direct D) must not be used to
compile the disc. The player will not recognize
the format.
* Only single session recordings can be used.
Multi session recordings are not recognized and will
not be played
* Select Data D Project (software user interface), file
system should comply with the standard of ISO 9660.
Or select MP3 D Project for convenience operation
(available in Easy D reator 5.0)
* It is advised to finalize the D after burnt.
Note * Playback of MP3, CD-R and CD-RW
may depend on recording conditions.

the player region code (Check the di c
region code printed on the di c packing.
Region code ALL will be acceptable by all
player .)
* Some DVD di c that were purcha ed out ide
the application country.
* PC application on CD-R/CD-RW.
* CD-ROM for PC interface only.
* MP3 CD-R/CD-RW of not proper format.
Care of disc

that need proper handling.
* Hold the di c with finger . Hold the di c
outer edge and/or the center pindle hole. Do
not touch the di c urface.
* Do not bend or pre the di c. Do NOT expo e

* Store di c in cabinet vertically, in dry condition.
Prevent expo ure to:

* Heat or exhau t from a heating device.
* Extreme humidity.

Loadin and chan in the batteries
Remove the cover of the battery compartment on
the rear of the remote control. In ert two AAA
(UM-4 or R03) batterie into the compartment, take
care to ob erve the + and - marking indicated
in ide, then clo e the cover.
Note * The batteries may last approximately one year
depending on how much the remote control is used.
* For the best performance it is recommended
batteries be replaced on a yearly basis, or when
remote operation becomes erratic.
* Do not mix old and new batteries.
* Do not expose batteries to heat or try to dismantle
them.
* Always remove batteries as soon as they become
weak.

Connecting to TV set (Video connection)
1. For a TV with cart jack, connect the player
cart jack to the TV cart jack. The cart
jack contain R-G-B video output, compo ite
video output and down mix tereo left and
Right audio output.
2. For a TV without cart jack, connect the
player down mix audio left (L) and right (R)
output to the TV audio left and right input.
Connect either one of the player video output
(Video or S-video) to the TV corre ponding
video input.
If the TV et i equipped with cart (R-G-B),
connecting thi ignal will provide the be t
picture quality.
Note * The player is equipped with Scart
(AV, R-G-B), S-Video and Composite Video
output port select. Enter the SETUP menu
to select the suitable video port.
* If the TV set has more than one composite
input, you may choose either one to connect.
Make sure you have properly connected the
video and audio ports, and switch the TV
channel to the corresponding input (e.g. AV1,
AV2,..etc.)

Connecting to Speakers
Connect the two peaker to the player peaker connection output :Front R.(Right) and Front L.(Left)
Connecting the Antenna
Connecting the AM antenna to the player AM
antenna input.
Note * EXtend the FM antenna as long as you
can, so as to maximize the receiving power.
* Turn the antenna to different directions
in order to reach the best receiving position.

Connecting to xternal Amplifier
The player provide audio output for external tereo
amplifier, or external digital amplifier (with Dolby
Digital decoding).
To connect a tereo amplifier, connecting the
player audio out L (left) and R (right) to the
tereo amplifier audio input left and right, elect
the corre ponding mode of the amplifier.
To connect a digital amplifier, connecting the
player digital audio Coaxial output or Optical
output to the digital amplifier digital input with a
coaxial cable or optical cable (The e cable are not
included), elect the corre ponding mode of the
amplifier.
Note * The player is equipped with DOLBY
DIGITAL digital output, and DOLBY
DIGITAL down mixed stereo power output.
* When digital output is in use, enter the
SETUP menu to set the digital output to
RAW or PCM.

Connecting a Headphone
In ert the headphone to the PHONE input jack.
When a headphone ha been connected, the
player will detect automatically, the peaker output
will be cut and the phone level can be adju ted.

Setting up the player
Video port setup
The DVD player i equipped with the following video port :

Scart(AV, R-G-B) (Default option)
S-Video
The DVD player has been preset at the factory to Composite Video(V) and Scart(AV,R-G-B)
outputs, as default settin s.
If any other video port has been connected and an incorrect pictured appears on screen, set the
desired video port step by step, as follows:

Note: * When a DVD disc of NOT correct format (region code) is loaded, the player will not
accept the disc and message REGION! will be displayed on screen.
* When a DVD disc of NOT correct TV system is loaded or the TV set of NOT correct
TV system with the player, a distorted video signal may come out on the screen.

* Unpack the unit.
* Read through thi manual before in tallation and u e.
* Load batterie into the remote control unit.
* Connect the y tem, make ure the connection are ecured.
* Connect the power plug to the AC power outlet.
Remark
Some feature contained in thi DVD player are related to the DVD di c oftware.
Some feature cannot be performed if the di c doe not upport the feature, or require pecial
etting .
Check the feature printed on the di c packing or follow the in truction of the Di c on creen
menu.
Selecting a function DVD/TUN R
Switch on the player
Pre the main power button to turn on the DVD unit. Power on the TV et and the amplifier if
connected.
Set up the system
Select the corre ponding etting of the TV et ( AV1, AV2, S-Video etc.) and the amplifier, until the
DVD power on creen appear .
The function mode will be memorized by the player when power off.
Choose the mode

Adjust the audio quality
Pre FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly until
the VFD di play how the word (TREB 00) or pre MODE
button on the remote.
Repeat pre ing FUNCTION button on the front panel or
Repeat pre ing the MODE button on the remote to elect
different audio adju tment mode.
To increa e the level:
Turn the volume knob clockwi e or
Pre the upper edge of the remote VOLUME button.
To decrea e the level:
Turn the volume knob anti-clockwi e or
Pre the lower edge of the remote VOLUME button.
Adjust the output volume
Pre FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly or
Pre MODE button on the remote repeatedly until the VFD
di play how the word (VOL 00).
To adju t the output volume up:
Turn the volume knob on the front panel clockwi e or
Pre the upper edge of the remote VOLUME button
To adju t the output volume down:
Turn the volume knob on the front panel anti-clockwi e or
Pre the lower edge of the remote VOLUME button.

Pre FUNCTION button on the front panel repeatedly until
the VFD di play how the word of ound effect.
To elect the next ound effect:
Turn the volume knob clockwi e.
To elect the previou ound effect:
Turn the volume knob anti-clockwi e

to di able loudne function, the VFD di play how the
word LOUD OF and then LOUD indicator will di appear
from the VFD di play.
The adjusted level will be memorized by the player.

Switch on the player
Pre FUNCTION button on the front panel
Turn the volume knob on the front panel

Pre DVD/TUNER button on the remote until the
VFD di play how the word (DVD).
Load a disc
Pre OPEN button on the remote control (or front
panel) to open the di c tray. Load a di c and pre
OPEN to clo e the di c tray.
Automatic Play
The unit will take a few econd to download the di c
initial data, di play the di c type logo at the right
upper corner of the TV creen, and then tart playing
automatically.
If a DVD disc menu appears on screen
Pre CURSOR button to elect the de ired feature
in the menu.
And then pre the ENTER button to confirm a
election.

NOTE: * Normally, when a MP3 disc is loaded, the unit will take longer time to download the
initial data.

Problem disc messages
Incorrect disc format
When a DVD di c of incorrect format (region code)
i loaded. The player will not accept the di c and the
me age (REGION!) will be di played on creen.
Production qualities of DVD discs vary, some discs
might deviate from the industrial standard. ome
incorrectly formatted discs may playback on the
player. However, the playback and operational
quality of those discs may be substandard.

Tuner Mode
Switch on the player, make ure the antenna
ha been properly connected.
Select a radio band FM or AM
Pre FUNCTION button on the front panel
Turn the volume knob on the front panel
or
Pre BAND button on the remote to witch
between FM and AM receiving.
Tune a channel
The player equipped with a built-in digital PLL
tunning y tem, with automatic earch function.
To auto earch the next higher frequency channel:
Pre and hold the upper FREQUENCY button
on the front control until the VFD di play how the
word AUTO or pre and hold the SEARCH
button on the remote control until the VFD di play
how the word AUTO.
To auto earch the next lower frequency channel:
Pre and hold the lower FREQUENCY button on
the front control until the VFD di play how the word
AUTO or pre and hold the SEARCH button on
the remote control until the VFD di play how the
word AUTO.
Pre the FREQUENCY / button on the front
panel lightly, or pre the SEARCH / button
on the remote control lightly to fine tune the
frequency up or down.
To store a preset pro ram
The player provide 20 pre et program memory for
each radio band .
To tore a pre et program, tune a channel:
Pre FUNCTION button on the front panel,
Turn the volume knob on the front panel.
or
Pre BAND button on the remote to witch between
FM and AM receiving.
Pre FREQUENCY button on the front panel or
pre SEARCH button on the remote to tune the

Pre the CHANNEL button on the front panel or
pre the SKIP button or the Numeric key on the
remote.
Weak FM signal
When the tereo FM receiving ignal i weak, ome

Pre ST/MONO button, witching the tuner to mono
mode in order to reduce the noi e.

RDS reception
RDS tand for Radio Data Sy tem and i a ignal
that tran mit data with FM broadca t . When an
RDS broadca t i received, the tation name
appear on the main unit di playing for about 3
econd and the RDS indicator light up.
