2.2.1 Generic EndĆtoĆEnd Use of the STPro
The connects your Personal Computer (PC), workstation
to the Internet and/or corporate Intranet. This can be
accomplished by the ubiquitous available 10BaseĆT Ethernet
V2.0/IEEE802.3 port, or by the (optional) industry standard
Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)ĆForum 25.6 Mbps port.
Figure 2 shows the generic endĆtoĆend network infrastructure,
where users (referred to as Small Office/Home Office (SOHO))
have access to their corporate, and/or their ISP via the ADSL line:

2.2.2 STPro Models
Depending on the available hardware ports, three models
an be identified:
"The single 10BaseĆT Ethernet port model
"The dual port model with both 10BaseĆT Ethernet port
and ATM ForumĆ25.6 Mbps (ATMFĆ25) port
"The integrated10BaseĆT four port Ethernet hub model.
Due to its inherent support for networking, Ethernet will be your
natural hoi e for reating a small LAN.
The (optional) ATMFĆ25 port provides ex ellent proto ol
transparen y and native ATM appli ation support.
The dual port model is designed for the on urrent use of
both Ethernet and ATMFĆ25 ports. Networking onfigurations
remain equally valid if the ports are used simultaneously.
There is no performan e penalty on this simultaneous use ex ept
for the sharing of the upstream and downstream ADSL bandwidth.
