Themaindifferencebetweenthemodelsarethefirewall/motormountand thebottomhatch. Assuch, you should
followtheregular instructionmanualtobuildthemodelwiththefollowingexceptions:
Step14...Thefueltank trayisnowthebatterytray.After
assembly,gluevelcroon theinsidebottom.
Step15...ReplaceF-21Aand F-21BwithE-02 and E-03. Glue
themtogetherasshown. GluethefourE-04’stothefrontof
E-2. NOTE:ThefourE-04 spacerswill mounttheHimax
HC3528-0800 Brushless Motorintheproper position. Ifyou
areusing adifferentmotor,measurefromtheplantodetermine
hawmany spacersare requiredforyourinstallation.
Step28, 29 and 30...DonotusepartsF-17, F-18 and F-19 are
notused. Instead, position and gluepartE-01 intoplaceon the
bottomofthefuselage.Trim therear edgeifrequiredtoobtain
agood fit.
Step32...You do nottodrill thefirewall astheholesare laser
cut.NOTE:Ifyourmotorusesadifferentmounting pattern,
Epoxy birchdowelsintheholesand sand flush. Thendrill
holesasrequiredforyourinstallation.
Step33...Installthe6-32 blind nutsinthebackinpartE-03 and
securewiththinC/Aglue.
Nowcontinuewiththeremaining steps untilstep50 whenthefuselageisfinishedand sandedsmooth.

thebatteryintothespeedcontroller.Checkthemotorforproperoperation and direction ofrotation. Followthe
instructions withthespeedcontrollertomakeany adjustments.
265...Checktheservos forproper operation and direction. Adjustthecontrolthrowstothevaluesshownon theplan.
Nowdisconnectthebatteryand thenturnoffthetransmitter.
266...Install thepropellerPlace thebatteryinthenoseofthemodeland install thehatch.
267...Checkthebalanceofthemodel.Itshouldbalanceattheposition shownon theplan. Movethebatteryforward
orafttoachievetheproper balance.Usethevelcrostraps tosecurethebatteryinthemodelinthisposition. Mark
thelocation ofthebatteryon thefuselageside.Thiswill allowyou toquicklyreinstall thebatteryatthelocation that
givestheproperbalance.Note:If moving thebatterywillnotachievetheproperbalance,you willhavetoadd
weighttothenoseortail.Glueany weightsecurelytothemodel.
268...Yourmodelisnowready tofly.Fullychargethetransmitter and airbornebatterybeforeattempting toflythe
model.Always rangecheckand do athorough pre-flightofthemodelbeforeeveryflight.Always followestab-
lishedsafetyguidelineswhileoperating themotor,radioand flying yourmodel.

LithiumBattery Fires
Lithiumbatteriesarebecoming very popularfor powering thecontroland powersystemsinour models.Thisistrue
becauseof theirvery highenergy density(amp-hrs/wt.ratio) comparedtoNiCd’sor otherbatteries.Withhigh energy
comesincreasedriskintheiruse. TheprincipalriskisFIREwhichcanresultfromimpropercharging, crashdamage,or
shorting thebatteries.All vendorsof thesebatterieswarn theircustomersof thisdangerandrecommend extremecaution
intheiruse.Inspiteof this,many fireshaveoccurredasaresultof theuseof LithiumPolymerbatteriesresulting inloss
ofmodels,automobiles,and otherproperty.Homesand garagesandworkshopshavealsoburned.Alithiumbattery fireis
very hot(severalthousand degrees)andisanexcellentinitiatorfor ancillary (resulting) fires.Fireoccursduetocontact
betweenLithiumand oxygenintheair.Itdoesnotneedanyothersourceof ignition, or fueltostart,and burnsalmost
explosively.Thesebatteriesmustbeusedinamannerthatprecludesancillary fire.Thefollowing isrecommended:
1. Store,and charge,inafireproof container;neverinyourmodel.
2. Chargeinaprotectedareadevoidof combustibles.Alwaysstandwatchoverthechargingprocess.Neverleavethe
charging processunattended
3. In theeventof damagefromcrashes,etc,carefullyremovetoasafeplacefor atleastahalfhour toobserve.Physically
damagedcellscoulderuptintoflameand aftersufficienttimetoensuresafety,shouldbediscardedinaccordance withthe
instructionswhichcamewiththebatteries.Neverattempttochargeacell withphysicaldamage,regardless ofhowslight.
4. Alwaysusechargersdesignedfor thespecific purpose,preferablyhaving afixedsetting for your particularpack.Many
firesoccur inusing selectable/adjustablechargersimproperlyset.NeverattempttochargeLithiumcellswithacharger
whichisnotspecificallydesignedfor charging Lithiumcells.Neverusechargersdesignedfor NickelCadmiumbatteries.
5. Onlyusecharging systemsthatmonitor and controlthechargestateofeachcellinthepack.Unbalancedcellscanlead
todisasterifitpermitsoverchargeof asinglecellinthepack.If thebatteriesshowanysign of swelling, discontinue
charging and removethemtoasafeplace outsideastheycoulderuptintoflames.
6. Mostimportant: NEVERPLUGINABATTERYANDLEAVEITTOCHARGEUNATTENDEDOVERNIGHT.Seri

ousfireshaveresultedfromthispractice.
7. Donotattempttomakeyourownbattery packsfromindividualcells.
ThesebatteriesCANNOTbehandledand chargedcasuallysuchashasbeenthepracticefor yearswithothertypesof bat

teries.Theconsequenceof thispracticecanbevery seriousresulting inmajorpropertydamageand/or personalharm.
